Org List:

This is the DLV 2006 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.

Rounding out and filling up:

As of this time I think that 85-90% of the activity sign-ups that are
going to come in have come in. Therefore when you look over the various
sign-up lists, you can expect somewhere between about 110% of the
projection and 110% of the sign-up numbers.

New registrations are coming in on average about one per day. Most are
following procedure.

Thanks to everybody who helped out in getting the information in on
time. This sign-up has gone quite smoothly.

For any other additions and changes, we need to get plans made now, as
we're approaching the 10 day mark.
. . . . .

I think we need to look at a couple days, Friday and Saturday in
particular, days of our maximum attendance, and fill in some weak spots.

4:30pm Wedding Ceremony (Viva Las Vegas Chapel)
            6:00pm Wedding Reception (Bahama Breeze)
            7:00pm Dinner (Bahama Breeze)

On Friday, our last scheduled item is 7:00pm.

If we don't have at least tentative plans for after dinner, the group
will scatter to the winds, and those who aren't in the immediate area
at the time any decision is made will get left out.

I think we need something in there, even if it's "Drinkers meet at
Goodtimes, dancers meet at Gipsy" or something like that.

Need comments and suggestions on this, please.
. . .
            1:00pm SBS Social (TBA)
            PM Movie outing (Theater)
            9:00pm Buck Wild show (Sahara)
11:59pm Rocky Horror Picture Show (Paradise Cinema)

On Saturday we have a BIG gap in the afternoon and early evening.

We're too late for anything that needs a headcount or reservation, but
a no-sign-up-just-show-up dinner would work quite well. The only question
is where?

We need a Happy Hour in there too. Where?

Since Rocky Horror is now very iffy, we might wanna look at some kind
of after-Buck-Wild gathering. See RHPS notes below.
. . .

10:30am Religious services (Metro Comm Church)
6:00pm Happy Hour (Hard Rock CAFE)
7:00pm Going-away Dinner (Hard Rock CAFE)
            8:30pm Farewell get-together (Flex)

Again, on Sunday, we have a big gap in the afternoon.

Shopping? Touristy things?
. . . . .

Group photos?

Do we want to attempt it this year? Big question is when? We have a
number of large turnout activities (Friday dinner, Buck Wild) but I'm
wondering if any of these would really work.

Do we want to do this in the hallway right after the Buck Wild show?
. . . . .

SBS Social - This has been relocated to Hamburger Marys on Saturday. A
note about this will go out in the next general mailing, which may be
mid-week or this coming weekend.

Laundry List:

I think most of the old Laundry List items are cleared. This is a fresh
load of laundry. :) Thanks to everybody who helped fold and hang the
last load. :)
. . .

Mary Beth? MB Border Grill? You said you wanted a minimum of 8 or so?

I'm currently showing a sign-up of 3, with 85-90% of the sign-ups in.
Do you want to continue or cancel this? Please let me know one way or
the other.
. . . . .

Eating Out Night Happy Hours: Unless I hear otherwise, I'm marking
down the following Happy Hour venues for HH prior to EON:

Milano's option: Freezone
"Little Girl" option: At LG Get-together
Bertolini's option: Bertolini's
Paco's option: Thirsty Camel Bar (Sahara casino bar)
Marie Callender option: Zingers
Border Grill option: Border Grill
Blue Ox option: Blue Ox
. . . . .

Amber Michelle? Any decision on time and film for Saturday?
. . . . .

We need somebody local to seek out and get an authoritative answer on
what is going on with Rocky Horror. I'm getting conflicting information.

One one hand I'm hearing that it's business as usual at the Paradise
Cinema and I'm also hearing that it's been moved to Hamburger Mary's for
an evening show. :(

I would hate to have to scratch this one, but unless we can verify that
it will happen on Saturday the 22nd, we'll have to remove it from the
schedule.

Any help (the sooner the better) would be appreciated on this.

Parlez-vous Espanol?

Is anybody here in the ORG group fluent in Spanish? We have a couple
people who have not responded to their headcount mailings who I think
may be native Spanish speakers, who quite possibly don't understand
some things.

If possible I would like to have a volunteer write to them in Spanish
and see if they need assistance.

Thanks.

Wedding capacity:

>Annie- Also, it's not a problem if 20 or 60 show up now. We are locked
>in for the large Chapel at no additional cost to us.

Thanks. We now have 36 signed up with 85-90% of the sign-ups in.
Therefore you can expect somewhere between the projection number of
22.5 and about 110% of 36 for your actual turnout.

Also, if you want to increase your turnout, you might consider either
some verbal invites or printed (nothing fancy) invitations to be handed
out to the DLV attendees. I think that would greatly increase the
turnout.

It was mentioned off line the other night that some may be a bit shy
about attending, since they have not been "really invited" and don't
know the happy couple. I assured them that everybody is most definitely
really invited, but I'm sure others might have this perception as well.
