Org List:

This is the DLV 2006 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.

Ongoing activity database appears on the web at:

Finalizing things:

The next big item is the Large Final Mailing.

This will go out a week from today, the 12th., and is the final major
communication we have with the attendees.

This will include the final schedule, so anything we have on it will
need to be confirmed and solid by April 12.

One thing I'm concerned about is Rocky Horror. We need some local people
to see what the real story is. Otherwise it has to be scratched from the
official schedule. We really can't have an iffy activity in a far-away
part of town in there unless it's really gonna happen.
. . . . .

Latest numbers and such:

+Reconfirmed primary attendees: 107
+Reconfirmed SO's: 28
+Total reconfirmed headcount: 135

This is as of a few minutes ago, with about a week left for general
registration. New regs are coming in 1-2 per day, and as you can see,
several get "stuck" in the validation phase.

+Entered registrations: 6
+Cancelled registrations: 19

+Reconfirmed : 107
+First notice : 2
+Second notice : 2
+Canc. pending : 18

Best guess as of this time is a crowd of about the same as last year.

Most of the people have been very good about getting their validations
and sign-ups in.

However, there are a few, like some on this list, who still have yet to
do the activity selection thing. >>>>HINT<<<<

Rounding out the weekend:

I would like to add post-dinner activities for Friday. Unless I hear
otherwise it will be drinkers at Goodtimes and dancers at Krave.

Please speak up now if you want other venues to be considered, and
no, you don't have to do anything if you speak up. :)
. . . . .

I'm adding a Saturday Happy Hour, usual time, Spotlight Lounge.

Why? Why not?

I'm also adding a Saturday buffet dinner at Palace Station.

Why Palace Station?

1. It's already on the map.

2. It's gross enough that I'm sure somebody will suggest an alternate
dining venue. (Don't be shy!) :) No, if you suggest something else,
you won't get collared to do something. All of these added things
will be no-sign-up, just show up. :)

Note from Jena:

Jena writes (unquoted):

Org gang,

I am sorry to say that I am not going to be able to come to DLV this
year. I had hoped to come back and say goodbye to my friends in the org
group, like Tootsie, Ginger, Michelle, Yvonne, Aiko.... and others, and
of course "Annie". I owe her so much for both DLV and her personal
encouragement.

DLV was where I first came out into the real world, fought my demons,
got my ears pierced, met Lea, and discovered that I had to go on and
transition.

DLV was always special to me, many great times. The best was our trip to
Area 51 and almost being run off the road by the "black bus"!

I was not able to make it last year due to my GRS surgery(also had a BA
last christmas) But all that is done, life goes on, and I am very happy.

I am enclosing a picture take last month at my birthday party.

I wish you all the best,

jena

Jena, thanks for being part of the DLV gang! Please know that you're
always welcome at any of our events. Best of luck in your new life!

I think all will agree that Jena is one of DLV's best success stories,
and I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Jena the best! :)

Movie and shows:

Amber Michelle writes:

>I dont want to interfere with the SBS social- so im thinking 4pm for
>the movie outing.

>however if theres a problem with Rocky then we could make it a midnight
>movie (or close to it) Still need to figure out what movies will be out,
>and whats worth seeing.

>okay possible movies: tentative movie listings could change between now
>and dlv

>tropicana cinemas which we know as paradise, (movies cost $2.50) the
>most appropriate movie to see is big mamas house 2 at 4:15pm. another
>possible is Narnia but thats only at 7 or 9:45 which would mean wed
>have to do that on friday night after dinner is a possiblity.

>i guess BMH2 is perfect for dlv. or ill do both of them depending on
>other fill ins or RHPS situatuion

I'll leave the details up to you, but the more information we have in
time for the Large Final Mailing, the better your turnout will be.

If you could check on the status of RHPS, it would be appreciated.
. . . . .

>I would also like to add drag show and dancing Monday night at Krave.

>Its free to enter and $10 for all you can drink one liquor well drink
>or upgrade for $2 more. Ive been there a few times but having girls
>there to dance with and drink with would make it a lot more fun!

What is the timing of the show?

If it's 10:00 or so I don't see any issue, but looking at the schedule
for Monday:

+ 6:00pm Happy Hour (Suede)
+ 7:30pm Dinner (Suede)
+ 8:30pm Welcome Celebration (Suede)
+ 10:00pm "Little Girl" Meet-n-greet (TBD)

We need the single-track Quality Social Time of the Welcome Celebration
in there for at least an hour or so. If the show starts at 10, that
means a 9:30 departure from the WC, and I don't think it's a good idea
to break up the group before then.

Comments on this, gang?

En Espanol:

Thanks to Rosada and Dianna who have volunteered to do Spanish
translations.

I've asked Rosada (not excluding Dianna, R's came in before yours) to
do a brief note for our next general mailing telling those who need
some help in their native language to write in.

I'm hoping that will come in before the planned mid-week mailing,
otherwise I'll just include a note in English to write in and I will
forward as appropriate.
