Org List:

This is the DLV 2006 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.

Ongoing activity database appears on the web at:

Lots happening:

Things are still looking good. We have a number of smaller things going
on and some new volunteers, please see below.

Mindy and Michelle, please let us know the status on your activities,
see Laundry List.

Thanks to everybody who have sent in updates.

I would like to ask all to please look over the schedule as it sits and
do a sanity check for times. Are any times obviously improper? Are any
moves or segues too tight?

Edy, Nora, Cheryl, Cyndi, Diane. Please be sure to look for your names
below as you have volunteers to assist with various things.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Laundry List:

Bowling? Michelle (NV)? Is this happening? Need location, price, and
method of payment, and any other hoop jumps. Going twice. Michelle,
can we have a GO or NO-GO on this, please?
. . . . .

Golf? Mindy? We need price and payment information, also please confirm
the time.
. . . . .

All: Local NSD alternative? Cindy has volunteered to host a drink-out
at Goodtimes, but we'll probably need something that starts before
that, either Goodtimes or elsewhere. Ideas? Volunteers?

Dinner, show, wedding:

Lorraine writes:

>hi all sorry i have not been in touch with you much please put me down
>for the sahara on Wednesday eating out night we had about 14 last year,

Thanks, Lorraine. I'll put Paco's down at the Sahara for your choice.

>if eddy needs help with her show i am willing to help with tickets and
>collecting money i think we did ok last year

Edy? You taking notes?

>if you need more big sisters put me on the list i will be staying at
>the sahara from the14th - 24th this year

Thanks. Nora, you taking notes?

>i have a Friend coming over for the first time she plays the organ at
>weddings and funerals and would be willing to offer her services free
>of charge to dlv if you are interested

Cheryl, Cyndi? You taking notes? If you need Lorraine's direct contact
info, let me know and I'll get everybody in touch.

Dragapella and barhopping:

Mary Beth writes:

>I'd like to join in on the alternative pub crawl after the Dragapella
>show lets out.

>Will there be some kind of schedule of the bars you are going to so we
>know where to meet up with you at, say 10:30 - 11PM?

I am planning on something extremely informal. Will probably start at
Freezone, since it's right by Milano's and well known. I was gonna
play it totally by ear, depending on who wanted to go where, when.

True barhopping is kinda hard to schedule. :) ("Ok, ladies, drink up,
we're due over at Flex in 15 minutes ...") :)

>Doesn't have to be timed, but if you can say something like 'We'll be
>starting at Bar A then going to Club X then going to Lounge D then
>going to Casino M" etc, so we can try to figure out where people will
>be later in the night without having to drive all over the place.

What's probably better is for you to designate an after-Dragapella bar
at a certain time and to have the crawl then plan to join you and your
group at that particular time.

Border Grill:

Mary Beth writes:

>I was doing some web surfing and came across this blurb:

+The finest lesbian chef in the world, as voted by Out Traveler
+magazine is Susan Feniger of The Border Grill at Mandalay Bay in Las
+Vegas. Business partners Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger are "Two
+Hot Tamales" of Food Network fame. Their Las Vegas restaurant Border
+Grill has been getting raves from food critics, locals and tourists
+alike.

>Other articles on the restaurant say that the food is good and
>reasonably priced, so if it's not too late and enough (say, 6 or more)
>people are interested, then I'd volunteer to hostess this as an option
>for Eating Out Night.

Ok, let me add this to the options. When activity sign-up happens,
if you don't get as many as you want, you'll have the option of
cancelling.

>For people who think they don't like Mexican food the menu is here:

http://www.bordergrill.com/BGLV/BGLVMEN/BGLVMENDIN/body_bglvmendin.htm

Thanks, MB. :)

Dance instruction:

Mardi writes:

>I can help Diane with the dance instruction class, even though I was
>rotten last year.

Thanks, Mardi. Diane, you taking notes?

OutSmart:

Mardi writes:

>Who is out smart? Pictures maybe from past DLV's??

I think Tina answers this very well below. (Or above?)

OutSmart coverage:

Tina writes:

>(music, movies, etc).

Thanks, Tina. Let me draft a response. I don't know how they're gonna
handle photos, but ...

Dinner and golf:

Yvonne writes:

>Hello

Hi, Y! :)

>Did miss a email.... for sunday its changed from Palace Station to Hard
>Rock?

That discussion appeared in the mailing sent out last Friday. Here's a
cut-paste of the thread:

+>>Also, if somebody wants to suggest either for a farewell dinner on
+>>Sunday in lieu of Palace Station Buffet, I'm not gonna be terribly
+>>disappointed.

+>I'm not sure where to go, but I think we can do better than Palace
+>Station.

+Oh yes, I *KNOW* we can do better than Palace Station. :)

+>Where did we do Sunday farewell dinner in the past?

+Uh, usually it's been Palace Station. :)

+>Maybe Hard Rock Cafe would work.

+Actually, I like that idea. My guess is that we'll have a smaller group
+on Sunday evening, and we can just go in and get available tables and
+order off the menu.

+If there are no objections (speak now) I'll change the venue to Hard
+Rock for Sunday evening dinner.

+I'm also gonna put down HRC for Happy Hour at 6:00pm on Sunday.

Any concerns about moving this to HR?

And, if you (or anybody) thinks you're missing something from the ORG
list, it's on line at: http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/org06arc/

>Golf at the Bellagio Buffet now? :)

Well, we could move it back to the Sahara Buffet if you think that would
work better.
