Latest updates:

There are a number of things happening on various fronts, most of
the items in this mailing explain themselves.

Thanks to everybody who sent in information. As you can see quite a few
holes in the schedule are now filled.

Still a few items outstanding. Our drop-dead date is approaching. Your
cooperation is appreciated!

My suggestion would be to announce the price as $50 and use the term
"discount", which is correct.

If we get more than 50 bodies, then everybody gets a nice surprise.

My guess is that we will get over 50. We got 50 easily for the SOM show
in 2003 and unless something unexpected happens, we'll get a somewhat
larger overall turnout in 2006 than we had in 2003.

>Those who sign up for this is an indicator, but not for sure.

True, and history has shown that there will be about 20% fallout from
those who sign up at activity sign-up time to those who actually show
up on the day of show.

Back in 2003 when I did the same thing you're doing, but for the
Showgirls Of Magic show, I actively did as much as I could to reduce the
fallout. At most of the major DLV activities I wore a tag that said "Ask
me about Showgirls Of Magic tickets" in a spare nametag holder. I also
had a list of those who signed up and I sought out those people and
collected at any time I could.

>Perhaps
>a deposit made early in the week would set the agenda somewhat. Once
>we know we have more than 50, that would encourage others who may be
>sitting on the fence.

The guy I dealt with over at David Saxe at the time is no longer there,
but he was very easygoing and it was obvious that he was empowered to
negotiate quite a bit. There were 2 things that I agreed to which
got him to bend on the price:

1. I agreed that I would collect and handle all $$$ and purchase all
tickets in one transaction. This saved their box office people from
dealing with 50-some individual transactions.

2. I agreed that we would get all of our people lined up with tickets,
all ready to go in, and that we would direct and police the line.

They didn't require any deposit. We spoke in terms of "about 50" and
that's what we gave them, about 50. :)

I kept them informed thru the week as to how many we had signed up and
on Friday I dropped over to their office and we made final plans as to
where the group would be seated and where our line would form and such.

Anyway, unless I hear otherwise I'll put this down on the sign-up page
as sign-up requested, $50 per person, payable at any major DLV activity
thru Friday.

+I checked with our studio manager. We would be happy to arrange a
+class for Wed. 4/19. Is it possible for your group to have the class
+from 12-1pm or from 3-4pm? Please let me know.

+Our standard hour group rate is $15/per person with a minimum of 8
+people. We ask for a 50% deposit to hold your time. Our receptionist
+can handle this for you over the phone.

+Sincerely,
+Alisa McAffee, Director
+Arthur Murray Las Vegas

IMAO, 3-4pm would probably get you a much better turnout. Unless I
hear otherwise I'll finalize this at 3:00pm with a cost of $15 per,
sign-up required.

Do you want this to be paid in advance (cutoff date?) or payable at
the activity?

It concerns me a bit that you might not be there when this takes
place. We'll most definitely need somebody for you to hand this off
to.

Volunteers?

High Tea:

Thanks, Jamie.

Looking at the schedule, both Wednesday and Thursday afternoon will
definitely work.

On Wednesday, you will be up against the continuation of the Art
Tour, the SO gathering, and the Dance Instruction. On Thursday, you
will be up against Golf and Glamour Boutique.

Of those, Golf is the only one which I would call a Big Gun<tm>, but
not everybody will do that.

I'm tempted to suggest Wednesday, since the day overall is less intense,
but it really looks like a coin flip. I would say to pick which one fits
best into your schedule and desires.

Please let me know what day/time you decide. Also, price per person,
how/when payment is expected, capacity limits, etc. Thanks.

Looking at the schedule, 9:30 would be a bit late for a true local
NSD alternative. NSD will probably depart about 5-ish or so. This would
probably work as a Post-NSD get-together, but it's hard to say if the
"Doves" will want to continue to party, or will just want to crash.

If we're gonna bill this as a local NSD alternative, we'll most
definitely need a volunteer to be there at or before the posted start
time, as history has shown that if our group is not represented when
people poke their heads in, some of them will indeed scurry back down
their hole and not emerge for 6 weeks. :)

Wedding details:

Cheryl and Cyndi send in the following, which will go out in the next
general mailing.

>Cyndi loves Starbucks and Chili's if someone feels like rewarding an SO
>with a gift card for being such a great support system for her CD mate,

Thanks for the updates. I'll get this in the next general mailing.

My hunch is that you'll get plenty of volunteers for bridesmaids. :)

Note to ORG people: You saw it here first, you get first crack at it! :)

For activity sign-up I'm marking this as sign-up requested with a
cut-off at 25. Should the numbers exceed that I'll give you a heads up
and you can decide whether to cut things off or move to the larger
chapel.

OutSmart coverage:

These people were in touch with us last year but nothing ever happened.

This one looks a lot better to me than the dating sites and such that
we've had queries from.
