Org updates:

I'm sending this out a bit early to keep things moving and to clear
the queue of what has come in lately.

Things are moving along quite well, with some loose ends. Please look
over the Laundry List and make a quick response if you see your name
listed.

Validated headcount sits at 126, and we've been getting about 2 more
each day, almost all totally cold newcomers lately.

Laundry List:

Much shorter, as you will notice. Thanks to those who quickly provided
info to clear some of these. Please take a look at what remains ...

Michelle (NZ)? Lorraine? Your choice(s) for Eating Out Night venue?
. . .

Bowling? Michelle (NV)? Can you please confirm Sams Town (or alternate)
as the venue? We also need price and any hoop-jump that needs to be made
such as prepayment. Deadline for payment?
. . .

Aiko? Do you have a price on Night Of The Soiled Doves III set? Also
rendezvous time? I'll assume Sahara surface parking lot unless you say
otherwise.
. . .

High Tea gang? Jamie? Any news?

Thanks, Tootsye. March 12 will be well within our timeframe. Please
let us know what you find out as soon as you can. There have been
some discussions about an alternate SBS social type of thing in case
the Garden Party doesn't happen, so if it's not gonna happen we need
to let them get on with the other plans.

Walking from the Hilton:

Yes, walking back up to Paradise and then over to Sahara is a bit much.

IIRC, when we walked over to Tony Roma's from the LVCC we did just what
you said above and walked up the street that has the convenience store
on the left (west) and what is now Steven Davids on the right (east).
Looking on a map I think it was Lynnwood.

IMAO, walking down to Serge's at Commercial Center would be what adds
the length to the trip. Well ... looking on the map, maybe not, looks
like about 1000 feet more to the Commercial Center corner where Serge's
is located.

Anyway, it's your call, you are the doctor here. :)

Golf and cocktails and such:

Thanks, Mindy. We understand what you're going thru, so please don't
hesitate to ask for help if you need it.

Many of the quickie questions we're getting have to do with golf, and
I'm actually adding "How do I sign up for golf?" to the FAQ list.

I'm not familiar with Blue Ox. Looking in the phone book I see 4
listings under cocktail lounges and restaurants and such with that name.

One is on Sandhill right off Flamingo, not too far from where you used
to live. Another is on Eastern and the address would put it in the
general area of the airport. Others on Valley View and West Sahara.

I'm assuming the one you mean is the one on Sandhill by Flamingo, am I
correct?

I've driven by the Artisan many times, but I've never been there.

I can see a few times on the schedule where Artisan and/or Blue Ox
would fit:

1. As a local option for HH, dinner, drinks, second track to Night Of
The Soiled Doves on Tuesday.

2. Dinner at Blue Ox and drinks and such at Artisan as an "alternative"
option on Mainstream/Alternative Night on Wednesday.

2a. As a stop (either or both) on the Bar Crawl on Wednesday.

3. "Pity Party" type of thing, either or both, on Thursday.

Please let me know which of these, if any, you want to do.

Jamie has expressed interest in the High Tea but we haven't heard
anything lately. Jamie?

Thanks for the report, Mindy. :)

I'm gonna put down 10:30 for the benefit of those who tend to be
fashionably late. :)

>Thank you for being the Parking lot POC.

You're very welcome. This means I gotta do it this year. :)

>I anticipate the sunbathing group leaving the same lot at around 9.

Ok, thanks. I'll get the schedule updated.

Diane, what, specifically, would a second coordinator expect to have as
duties? Please detail what they will have to do. Thanks.

Phone book says it's at 4213 W Sahara, which would put it between Valley
View and Arville. Yes, I think it's a good candidate for the bar crawl.

We have Flex scheduled for the Farewell Get-Together. If you or anybody
else thinks Escape Lounge or somewhere else would be more appropriate
please detail your thoughts. I'm not expecting a terribly large crowd
that night, so I don't think this will be a major issue.

DLV shows:

I think you are the third or fourth one who has brought this one up, so
it seems like there is most definitely some interest in working this in
somewhere.

However, and not to sound like a broken record (stuck CD?), (also, this
is directed toward everybody, not just Edy) the magic words we need to
hear in order to paste this into the schedule are "I volunteer to
coordinate" or words to that effect. We have yet to hear that in a
definitive manner.

We do have a "maybe" for this, from somebody who is volunteering to do
multiple things already, but a "Yes I will do it" from somebody who is
not on record for coordinating an activity yet would be much better. :)
(>>>HINT<<<) (Yes you!) Let's spread the load around a bit more, ok?

End of sermon!

This is an easy one, gang. From what I understand, it's not reserved
seats. Everybody could pay separately and sit together if the penguins
are greased, so there will be no collecting money, passing out tickets,
making up seating lists, etc. All we need a volunteer for is to be a
friendly face there and to collect and apply grease.

Assuming we get a volunteer, I see 2 places this would fit on the
schedule. First, as a high-interest but still moderately safe option
for Mainstream/Alternative Night on Wednesday. We don't yet have any
big guns in that timeslot yet, so I know it would get a good turnout.

Another possible timeslot that came up is Tuesday, as a local option
against Night Of The Soiled Doves, but I have a feeling that it would
get a better turnout on Wednesday.
