Well, as those of you who count days know, we just passed the 90 day
mark! It is now time to start firming up the plans and getting the
schedule solid.

I am beginning to get things together for the final schedule, maps,
etc.

In general ... Activity continued to be brisk over the past week. Up to
56 on registration as of this morning. :) No further issues reported.
Quite a few list joins recently.

We still need activities for Saturday evening. This is not going away,
gang. :) We need ideas.

Yes, you! :)

Hmmmm ... Vanity club:

This just came in as a request to join the dlvgolf list ...

+Hi !
+I plan on attending the Vanity Club Soiree in Las Vegas (Apr 20-23),
+and would be very interested in participating in the DLV Invitational.

Anybody know about this?

Wednesday evening:

We have one special-interest item on the slate for Wednesday evening
(see below). We also have Eating Out Night scheduled for early evening.

Let's consider Wednesday to be a general multi-theme multi-track
evening.

We should probably call it something, like we did last year when we
called it Mainstream-Alternative night. Suggestions?

I would suggest that those of you who have smaller general or special
interest items in mind, just raise your hand and get these things on
the schedule. I can think of countless possibilities ...

* Fremont Street Experience
* Nighttime Strip casino-hopping
* Alternative bar crawl
* Mainstream bar crawl
* Smaller or special-interest show
* Paris tower or Stratosphere tower
* {your idea goes here}

These don't have to be elaborate, and many things of this type don't
need any real planning or organization, just an idea and at least one
person to be there.

This would be something that those who volunteered to host(ess)
"something social" to do.

Latest Laundry List:

Shorter list. Quite a few items cleared since last time. Thanks gang!
. . . . .

Cheryl, Cyndi, Nora? Wedding plans? Any thoughts of the timing of the
ceremony and the details of the reception and how they will mesh with
the DLV plans?

I would like to feature this in one of the upcoming weekly activity
blurbs shortly if possible.
. . .

Mindy, others? Garden Party?
. . .

Saturday: We need ideas, we need volunteers. (>>HINT<<)
. . .

Ginger? Any (further) thoughts on venues for Lunch With(out) Ginger?
. . .

Aiko? Other show(s)? Any plans?
. . .

Everybody? We need a couple more hosts/hostesses for Eating Out Night on
Wednesday. We have 2 volunteers, we need at least a couple more.
. . .

Charles Bar? Gina, is this on again this year? If so, which evening?
You in there, Gina, got yer ears on? :)
. . .

Dance Night? Jenni? Others? Any thoughts? Friday? Krave again?
. . .

Speaking of dancing, Dance Instruction. Diane? Others? Do we want to
repeat it this year?
. . .

English High Tea? Mindy? Diane? Do you want this on Sunday this year?

My schedule is -- nothing, meaning I probably won't get to Las Vegas
again until DLV.

As you can see from the next item below, Tiny (Debbie) will be expecting
us. :)

Edy, if you think we should be doing an official group thing to see
this, I would appreciate you taking the lead on this and getting the
wheels turning.

I see it fitting in a couple places on the schedule, either Monday after
the Welcome Celebration or Wednesday as one of the options.

I would say to pick whatever evening works best for you and let's get it
on the schedule. Thanks.

Diane, you might wanna make note of this for roommate matching. (OBTW, I
am planning a blurb on roommate matching in the next general mailing.)

Ok, I will add a Post-Easter shopping trip for Tuesday afternoon. Thanks
for taking this on. :)

>If there is enough interest in sissiness, I am would like to host a
>sissy party on Tuesday night. (fifteen dollars to cover room rent,

>enough interest, I might try the soiled doves myself for a change?

My hunch is that anything put up against NSD in the same timeslot,
particularly something of very specific interest, will have a poor
turnout. NSD is popular (in part) because of the non-mainstream dress,
and therefore I think anything else featuring non-mainstream dress in
that timeslot might not get optimal turnout.

If there's something on the schedule as an alternative to NSD, I
would suggest something very general in nature, such as dinner and
a non-themed social get-together.

I might suggest that you focus the "sissy" or "little girl" theme into
one specific evening, and one that does not have any major "big gun"
general-interest activities that would draw participants away from it.

As of this time, the one weekday evening that doesn't have anything
big is ...

>On Wednesday evening, I would like to host a clothes show-off in the
>timeshare, ladies may model lingerie or sissy outfits or whatever, and
>there is plenty of room to change clothes. I would guess that like
>last year, we would start by ordering out Chinese food or Pizza. (ten
>dollars plus cost of food divided equally, limit of ten attendees)

>I will avoid the problem of full reservations and no-shows by accepting
>reservations in person only. First paid = first reserved. I plan to
>be at the Happy Hour and dinner on Monday.

My best guess is that Wednesday will be a multi-track evening with
a few to many selections, giving everybody their selection of what
to do.

We already have Eating Out Night set for Wednesday, so your order-out
could essentially be one dining option for those doing the sissy theme
that evening.

You might consider combining a Sissy Party and a clothes show-off into
one combined activity on Wednesday.

>I do not use the word "sissy" in a perjorative way, but people who like
>this style (pastels, pink, lace, ruffles, goldilocks) usually know and
>relate to the word "sissy".

Help me out with the terminology and semantics here. ...

I'm going to have to put these on the schedule and I want to have
wording in there that gets the point across in a few words but does
not give the wrong impressions.

I know what the term "sissy" means, but I think that for the general
audience it's not well understood and potentially misunderstood.

The two close synonyms I think of are "Little Girl" and "Poufbunny"
which I think are more widely understood but still subject to some
misinterpretation, as "Sissy" is. "Little Girl" can have some
transgenerational undertones, and "Sissy" can have forced-femininity
undertones.

>I am willing to revise my schedule and plans within the
>Monday-Wednesday night timeframe.

What I would suggest is to set up something solid for Wednesday and
focus on that one. Possibly a late-evening meet and greet on Monday
as well, after our Welcome Celebration.

Whatever you decide, we should get them on the calendar in the near
future.

>I am also willing to host a
>significant other gathering at my timeshare on Wednesday before or
>after lunch w/o Ginger.

Ok, I'll put a SO gathering on the calendar on Wednesday. For now I'll
put it after LWG, since I think that will get you a better turnout. If
you want to move it earlier, please let me know. Thanks for taking this
on we have 11 SO's signed up so far. I'll also plan an announcement of
this in the next general mailing.

So far most weekday afternoons are open. Golf is on Thursday and Death
Valley is on Monday, but those are not single-track-only things.

Comments, bowlers? Day preference?

>Also i really want to do a movie outing maybe a matinee say Saturday

Ok, I will pencil this in for Saturday afternoon. Thanks.

Banner Exchange and more:

HWGA :)

Is anybody personally acquainted with "DD" or in contact? Is anybody
here a member of lvtg.com?

+I like your event and would love to have my banner displayed on it. My
+name is DD, I live in Las Vegas and I own LVTG.com. LVTG is becoming a
+major TG dating and personals website. I would love to let my members
+know about Diva Las Vegas. How can we make that happen? Do you have
+banner link? Can we do a banner exchange?

+I also own and operate http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lasvegastgirls/
+which is growing and also still growing. We just hit 5,000 members the
+other day. I have it set up to drive more traffic to LVTG and serve as
+news and promotional vehicle for the site. Sign up and tell me what you
+think.

+I think we could a lot to help each other with mutual marketing and
+promotions. I don't feel there is any sort of conflict here, in fact I
+think I could do a lot to drive more interested TG's and admirers to
+your great event. I think a lot of my members would be very interested
+in seeing your website and attending DLV 2006.

+Why don't you take a quick peek at my site. You can sign up and

Well, I did "take a quick peek" and ...

IMAO, we don't need the attention brought on by affiliation with
dating sites, pr0n sites, adult sites, pay-anything sites, etc.

I think our best exposure comes from personal referrals and those we
get from vendors, support groups, etc.

I would like to hear some thoughts and feelings here. I have my opinions
on the topic but remember, I'm kind of a lame duck here and you are the
ones who have to live with things like this in an ongoing sense.

Comments, gang? I need some feedback on this one, please.
