This is the DLV 2006 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not

Timeframe nominations:

Last call for DLV 2006 timeframe nominations. Call For Votes will go out
shortly after next week's mailing. The two timeframes placed into
nomination at this time are:

1. Monday, April 24 - Saturday, April 29

2. Sunday, April 23 - Saturday, April 30

Any others? Last call.

For those who are new, here's how we do a Call For Votes. A special
"ballot" mailing goes out to everybody on this list. Everybody then
replies to this mailing indicating their choice. I ask everybody to cc
or bcc themselves so they will have a record of the Message-ID: for
verification purposes. I also ask everybody to please refrain from
adding any comments or discussion to the ballots. "Just the facts,
ma'am." :)

The polls remain open until 48 hours elapses with no votes received.

The totals will then be announced here with the raw votes and
(obfuscated -- to remain anonymous) Message-ID: lines posted.

Yes, I agree that Bell-Trans has been good.

I don't see any problem with the 6 passenger limos, but I do understand
the concern of those who feel cramped. The only way to tell if a
variation on the theme will work is to try it. There seems to be a
desire here to try larger vehicles.

Yes, people do sometimes wander off and unfortunately that can cause a
delay.

Quite honestly, I don't see the DLV type of limo tour working on a
Friday or Saturday evening. Just too much traffic and too many people
all over the place.

We hope you continue to do well. Those procedures sound a bit scary. :(

>The 'appropriate dress issue' --- How about taking a 'reverse position'
>and having pictures of people wearing what is not appropriate next to
>what should be appropriate wear???

That might be something worth considering. The problem is getting the
photos of the inappropriate outfits.

>The Limo 'Team Lead Diva' issue--- If I would have a 'Refreshment Diva'

>Limo rental and tour route coordination given the support advise of
>Tootsye and Jamie Renae who did a super job!!!

Well, you have a Refreshment Diva, LeeAnna, and a Ticket/Payment Diva,
me, on record for volunteering. If you'll volunteer to do the vehicles
and routes, it looks like we have a full crew. :)

>The Diva Pin-- I would be happy to 'underwrite' the venture, with
>Yvonne Watanabe for 2006. Like the same design but different colors.
>Also I would not think we will have a payback from one event like --
>LDII-- but a sell-out over several events

I know I was one who was pushing the "bundling" of the pins with one
activity, and as you know it was to avoid you taking a bath on the
project.

If you want to have these sold as stand-alone I don't see any problem.
Do you have any ideas for the colors for 2006?

>The Tea Party event was great and I hope we can have it again. If
>Mindy needs some financial assistance I am 'open for discussion, again'

Mindy?

>Then my true love to work on an event with Sarah Charles --- a 'tourist
>event'-- museum, or whatever 'brainstorming idea' we can come up with
>for 2006 would be fun to explore...

Those activities, while not the most "exciting" do seem to be well
received. I'm sure there will be a demand for things like this in 2006.

The word was not effectively passed. I'm sure that most of those who did
use the regular one did so because they didn't know of the arrangements
and not out of obstinance.

>from what i understand there will be a consideration of the trans

Unisex restrooms are becoming more and more common, and they seem to
solve quite a few of the problems we encounter.
