Org List:

This is the DLV 2005 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.

Moving right along:

Registrations continue to come in regularly. No major issues at all
with registration.

As of Tuesday night we're up to 138 as a validated headcount with
26 SOs included.

The mailing list just broke 550. It could be as high as 600 as of DLV.

Unless somebody comes up with a critical or late-breaking item, this
Sunday will again be a "skip" week for the general mailing list.
. . .

Leah will be taking over the coordination of the Carluccio's dinner and
will contact them this week. In the event they are booked for Friday,
Leah is gonna try for Saturday, just prior to the Cagle Show.
. . .

Nora, Crystal? How are you doing WRT Big Sister volunteers? Do we need
to do something like a special mailing to returnees?

Activity sign-up:

On April 1 we're scheduled to begin activity sign-up. If all things are
solid, this could actually happen prior to April 1.

Please take a look at this list. These are the activities I show we're
going to include on the sign-up screen and a note about the purpose of
the particular sign-up for that activity.

First of all, if there are any activities missing which should be on
this list, please say so. These are the ones that need some kind of a
headcount, whether it's just to get an idea of how many will show, or
as a necessity.

Second, I have the capacity limits noted where they apply. Some of these
are fuzzy, but will serve to warn when something is getting full. If
you're in charge of something that has a limit and it doesn't look right
to you, please let me know.

Also, any errors, please let me know.

Before the actual sign-up starts I'll post a test link to it and you can
proof read and shake down the entire screen. For now we just need to know
if the list is complete and accurate regarding what activities appear on
the sign-up screen.

Thanks, gang. :)

Suggestions for a mainstream Monday night watering hole anyone:

Ginger writes:

>I'm a go for a mainstream bar social activity on Monday night,

Thanks, Ginger. I'll get this on the schedule.

>but still need help identifying the place we'll go.

>Where ever it is, it should be a:

>(1) nice reasonably upscale hotel or stand alone bar,
>(2) accepting,
>(4) not scheduled for other activities later in the week, and
>(5) have good parking and/or be reasonably accessible by the monorail,
>and maybe easily accessible from the Bahama Breeze and Desert Rose
>Resort (the sites of the imediately preceeding activities) and the
>hotels where most people are staying.

My hunch is that very few, if any, who go to the Little Girl Tea Party
will be going to any of the (other) Mainstream-Alternative activities.
In fact, I'm thinking of reclassifying the LGTP as one of the
alternative options for that mainstream-alternative night.

>A downtown location might work although that would be somewhat
>contradictory to criterion #5. Please forward your suggestions to me at
>gintn@yahoo.com.

The places that come to mind immediately which meet most of your
criteria might be:

Tropicana casino bar. However, the venue is duplicated by the show on
Thursday. I really don't see that as a deal-breaker though.

San Remo (Hooters) casino bar.

There are countless others. Any suggestions, gang?
