This mailing:

Things continue to move along smoothly for the most part.

It would be appreciated if everybody would please look over last week's
Laundry List and respond if there are any items that pertain to you.
There are a number of loose ends that we will need to solidify over the
next few weeks if we are to remain on track. Thanks in advance. :)

As a reminder, if anybody would like the pre-payment instructions for
booth seating for the Folies show on Thursday, please write in or just
reply to this mailing.

The Zingers situation:

As some of you are aware, there have been some recent management changes
at Zingers.

While this is not the appropriate forum to discuss the particulars or
the personnel issues, we do need to be aware of things, particularly
where they may affect the plans for DLV 2005.

We have two volunteers, Aiko and Nora, who are acting as our liason
between DLV and Zingers. They are aware of the situation, are in
contact, and are taking steps to assure that all bases are covered.

Limo Tour and Timing:

Tootsye writes:

>In the mailing of February 20, you mentioned that the Follies show

>ended!

Actually, it starts at 7:30pm. From Aiko's note:

+The show will start at precisely 7:30pm on Thursday, April 28th at the
+Tropicana Hotel. It's best to plan on being there 30 minutes prior to

7:00 is the suggested time for people to be there.

Aiko can possibly give us a more exact time of the show's ending, but
shows such as Folies usually run very close to 90 minutes from curtain
up to curtain call.

>We usually schedule the start of the Limo Tour 25 to 30 minutes after
>the show lets out. This, we hope is enough time for the girls to find a
>friendly bathroom and get to the entrance where the Limos will pick
>them up.

If they do have 25-30 minutes, hopefully they can spread out and pace
themselves rather than descending en masse upon the nearest ladies room.

I cringe everytime that happens, and I'm concerned that it will get the
group in trouble one of these years.

>It is most desireable that they not have to stand around too long, and
>also that they be assembled and ready to enter the Limos when they come
>so that we don't waste time.

>So, my burning question is! What time does the show let out?

My guess is that it will be very close to 9:00pm.

>As soon as we know that, we can communicate with the Limo company and
>tell them when and where to pick us up!

>Oh yes, I think I remember that someone was concerned about there not
>being enough Champagne on the Limo Tour! We plan a whole bottle for
>each girl! Six bottles in each limo! Happy tippling!

Jeez! That's enough to pollute the East River! :)

>I also notice that you have the church service scheduled for 10:00 AM.
>I think it might be better for 9:45. The services START at 10:00 and it
>will be better if we are already seated by then. Just a minor little
>tweak.

Ok, I'll adjust the schedule time to 9:45.

Limo Tour and radios:

Yvonne writes:

To question is the answer ... :)

>I can remember it happening on the LT, NSD, and Ghost Town events.

I'll respond to this with a couple of questions:

1. Do we need radio contact between vehicles for the Limo Tour, NSD, and
side trips?

2. Are the radios we use the best (correct?) tool for the job? Would
something else (such as cell phones, which each vehicle will probably
have one of) be more effective? Are the limo drivers in radio or phone
contact with each other?

3. Is it realistic and necessary to expect each vehicle to maintain a
"radio watch" for the duration of the activity?

IIRC we quickly exceeded the effective range of these radios when we
were out on the highway heading toward Rhyolite. It seems like these
radios work well within a few city blocks of each other, but any more
than that and they start becoming unreliable.

I also remember quite a bit of co-channel chatter and drivel while we
were in the Las Vegas area.
. . . . .

>One other nagging question on drinks during the LT

>First I like and enjoy the champagne or other drinks in the limo.. The
>drivers allow it. I have no problems with it.

>One day I was watching one of the many shows about LV on Discovery

>One show stated that consumption of liquor or beer in a moving vehicle,

>this true? I thought I was hearing the TV wrong, but when they
>re-aired it hrs later, I heard it again.

>the limo driver that is working and not drinking.... Plus the windows
>are tinted so no one can see inside anyway. But if its true there must
>have been a good reason why.

>Is it one of those ordinances that no one really follows in a limo?

>Can anyone who is knowledgeable answer if this is true?

I posed this question to one of the newsfroups. A local bartender
immediately replied that it IS LEGAL for those over 21 riding in a limo
to drink alcohol. Another responded that a phone call to Metro (police)
confirmed that it is indeed legal.

A subsequent reply quoted chapter and verse of the Nevada Revised
Statutes which states that open container laws do not apply to the rear
of limos (and even taxis, the way I read it).

It appears that the program that stated this was in error. ("But it must
be true, they said so on TV.") :)

Limo and coverage:

Jamie writes:

>The $38 fee is enough to cover all costs. We did not make any "pit"

>As usual, the limo will be iced down and have cups available. We will
>also be asking that you tip your driver, if they go above and beyond
>the service you expect.

Thanks, Jamie. I didn't think that there was any shortage of liquid
refreshments last year. I'm confident that you've run the numbers so
that you will not come up short.
. . . . .

>Magazine coverage:

>My concern would be for the attendees that dont want their faces put in
>a public media.

I share this concern.

>My question is," do we really need the publicity?"

IMAO, we don't need the publicity. We seem to do quite well in spreading
the word by word of mouth and net exposure.

"Do we want the publicity?" might be the question here. :)

>After a published spread, we could very well attract people that dont
>have our best interests at heart or be condicive to following the DLV
>guidelines.

Do we know the demographics of who reads Transformation Magazine? I'm
not familiar with it. I don't know if it's aimed at the community, the
admirers, or what, or even if it's more socially or sexually oriented.

Although we do run a risk of attracting the "wrong crowd" via any
medium, even the net (as we saw shortly before DLV last year), I think
our procedures do a good job of discouraging (or at least identifying)
those who have no intention of playing by the rules. The wrong crowd
will always find us if they look hard enough. :)

My major concern is the feelings and comfort level of those who are
attending.

Comments anybody?

Sunbathing clarification:

>Afternoon Annie,

Evening, Diane, :)

>ANY of the 3 possibile: (Male, Female top or 2 pc, or 1 pc female)

Bad attitude:

Ok, gang, here's one from the "what the ..... " department.

I received this note from Tushell of Bad Attitude Boutique, in response
to a not I had sent her in early January regarding any promotions
or whatever for DLV ...

+Last year no one even showed up for our Corset GIVE AWAY. A free
+corset! Everyone went to the Glamour Boutique. As much as I think we
+have to offer I don't think we had the right atmosphere for your
+girls. We don't do makeovers, I'm sorry.

+Last year we rearranged our entire schedule of events and we were very
+blown away by the lack of response.

+We can not afford to do this again.

+If the ladies would like to drop by we would love to have them and we
+will have many Corset specials running at that time.

+I hope you understand.

+Kind Regards,

+Tushell

I was kind of surprised to hear this. I know I didn't go to the corset
workshop, but I would have sworn that I had talked to people who did,
although I couldn't remember who.

Then I got to thinking, I remember responses on the follow-up survey for
the Bad Attitude Corset Workshop. I checked the survey results and sure
enough ...

+Activities, enjoyment. 1-5 scale ...

+Bad Attitude workshop: 4.75 (4 responses)

+Activities, comfort. 1-5 scale ...

+Bad Attitude workshop: 5.0

I really don't know what to make of this. At least 4 our people went, or
said they did anyway.

Am I missing something somewhere?

Question to the gang here: Did any of you go to the Bad Attitude
Corset Workshop personally?
