Org List:
This is the DLV 2005 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.
Ongoing activity database appears on the web at:

Looking great, gang:
Still looking very good for the most part. I'm almost in shock from the
way things have fallen into place this year. Most everything is ahead of
schedule.
Thanks to everybody who has helped to make this the smoothest one I
can remember! :)
There are, however, a few items that appear to have stalled. Please look
over the Laundry List and the various items below.
We also do need to be making some decisions in the very near future. See
the golf notes and the Laundry List below.
. . .
Latest numbers:
Validated primary attendees: 71
Validated SO's: 15
Total validated headcount: 86
Newcomer registrations (for list members) opens next week.
. . .
A note from Steve "Tiny Bubbles" Daly says that Showgirls Of Magic
will not be closing at the San Remo/Hooters until June. That leaves
the door open for an official or unofficial DLV SOM thing if anybody
wants to plan it.
. . .
Web site hits continue to be in the 1200-1800 hit range per day. Our
mailing list sits at 528, which appears to be an all-time high. This
will continue to grow until DLV, since new additions are outnumbering
the unsubscribes and undeliverables.
. . .
As some of you may know, Barbara from Zingers has been talking with some
people from the Riviera in hopes of getting "special group rates" for
DLV attendees. Unfortunately, so far, this seems like same song,
umpteenth verse, as what she's been quoted are no better than what
anybody can get with a few mouse clicks.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
SO concerns:
Speaking very freely here, I'm a bit concerned at the lack of any
response or discussion to several mentions here regarding possible SO
activities.
Is there no demand for SO activities this year?
If there really is not a demand (I've observed that some SO's just like
to hang out with the girls for the most part) then it's not a problem.
What I don't want to happen, however, is for something to be scheduled
at the last minute, long after attendees have planned their daily
activities, and get a poor turnout. I think this is one of the primary
reasons for the low turnout at the SO gathering last year.
This is the last time I'll mention this. If nobody says anything, I'll
consider it to not be a priority and remove it from the Laundry List.

Laundry list:
Thanks to everybody who has recently volunteered to plan things. This
year is going so smoothly that it's actually scary! :)
If your name is mentioned, please at least respond with a brief ACK to
let us know you're still with us. Thanks.

Golf scheduling:
More comments here in favor of moving golf to Wednesday.
If there is such a movement, we need to call the question and act now,
as I know that Mindy and Billie Lee are making plans to get things
set up at the course.
Mindy, Billie Lee, do we need a Call For Votes on this?

Ok, thanks, we'll set the "full" warning at 35.
. . .

Ok, I'll get this on the schedule for 9:00am on Tuesday. I'll note on
the final schedule that it will be cancelled if raining, and if that's
the case, meet at 10:30 at Zingers with the rest of the group.
>This will require a point person for the 10:30 depature from Zingers

Volunteers? This is a low-maintenance one, gang. :) All you really have
to do is to be there at 10:30 and know the approximate way to get to
the lake.

Bahama Breeze on Monday:

Sounds to me that they're flexible. I'll set the cut-off warning at
something like 60. Thanks.

Slumber party:
Sarona writes:
>>Monday night (25th) would work.

Ok, let's put that in on Monday night. I'll put in 11:00pm for now,
if that start time is not what you want, let me know.
Please let us know any more details. We'll firm things up in the weeks
to come.
I have two questions, which I'll use to do the activity sign-up screen:
1. How much will the ante be? Will it be pre-pay or pay at the activity?
2. What is your maximum capacity for this?
Thanks, Sarona. :)

Thanks, Nora. I really don't envision any kind of a show on Sunday,
just HH and dinner, then over to Zingers for the Welcome Celebration.
>He also told me that he would be glad to put on a drag show for us
>during the week. I told him In would inform you of his offer and if it
>was decided to accept his offer I would get back to him.
Looking over the schedule, the only time I see something like a drag
show at HM's working is maybe on Tuesday as a local alternative to NSD.
That would not get them the bulk of the DLV gang at once, which is
really what I think Ernie has in mind.
Another possibility might be as another "alternative" option for the
Mainstream/Alternative night on Monday, but that would get them even
fewer of the people, since the crowd would then be split 3-4 ways.
This one might be a good one to keep in our back pocket as a standby
this year just in case something else on our schedule doesn't work
out or gets cancelled.
Anyway, thanks again for making contact. Plans for DLV 2005 seem to be
going so smoothly it's scary! :)
Comments, gang? :)

I'll second your motion. I enjoyed it and would do it again. It's one
of those legacy Las Vegas production shows, and it's becoming one of
an endangered species to an extent.
>If anyone would like to volunteer to assist me in the coordination of
