Timely updates:

>From now until DLV I'll be sending out any ORG material that comes in
quite promptly, waiting no longer than a day.

I would like to ask everybody to please do a sanity check of the
activities they are involved with, and even those they are not. :)

Please look for any loose ends or any things that appear to be out of
place.

We are getting very close, gang! :)

you via e-mail.

If things like this happen, there are a few things that you can do to
check things out.

1. If you get an error message that means anything (many later IE
versions have very ambiguous error messages) send it to me.

2. As a sanity check, manually type the name www.geekbabe.com/dlv/
into the location bar in your browser. This will verify that the
server is up, responding, and reachable from your corner of the net.

3. If that fails, and things do not clear up in a few hours (there are
many transient problems on the net) go to a DOS window and type the
following 2 commands. Cut-paste the results and send to me. I'll be
able to see what's going on.

ping 216.40.10.36
tracert -d 216.40.10.36

If there are significant problems, I usually find about it VERY rapidly.

... and worth every penny! :)

Thanks, Jenni. Everybody does seem to be in agreement here. The note
posted to this list yesterday was sent to multiple addresses at their
"firm" earlier today.

If I may digress for a few lines, it is very evident to me that we here,
the members of the ORG group, wish to maintain a significant amount of
distance between DLV and the adult industry.

Speaking very freely here, there will always be some extracurricular
activities going on at DLV. Whenever people get together, intimacy will
occur. There's nothing we can do to stop it, and, IMAO, there's nothing
we should do to stop it as long as it's between consenting adults and
behind closed doors (or at least in a dark corner). :) I would even go
as far as to say that a moderate amount of carrying on can be healthy.

As I think and look back thru DLV history, we've already set some
precedents on where we stand with regard to some of these issues.

In 2000 or so, we agreed unanimously that we would not run "personals"
in the mailings. We also have summarily rejected room share
announcements that appeared to be thinly disguised personals.

More recently we've agreed, almost unanimously, that the availability
of potential partners of any gender or persuasion is to be a totally
neutral factor in venue selection for our activities.

Yes, we do have a few who attend DLV who are clearly on the make, but
most who attend do not appear to have "get my ashes hauled" on the top
of their must-do-at-DLV list. It's these attendees that we want to gear
DLV to.

If somebody wants to find another to wake up with, they are of course
free to do so, but, IMAO, it's on their "own time" and we don't plan our
activities in order to give anybody the maximum exposure to potential
partners.

But anyway ...

If they (ebabz/Paradigm/whatever) do not remove the logo in a few days,
we will send this note to the abuse department of the company that hosts
their web site. Having worked the abuse desk of an ISP years ago, i know
that reports of copyright violations usually get a response very
quickly, as this is against the TOS for almost all hosting companies.

If this should not be effective, we can block the link (do something
like redirect any referrals from that page to www.fbi.gov or something)
by a bit of programming, rendering it ineffective.

About the most that our group can do after that is to have a "cease and
desist" letter sent from a legal office. I estimate that this would cost
about $50. We really don't have the funds to pursue any legal action
other than that.
