A few socks caught in the dryer here ...
Mindy, are the discounts at Catherine's and Dress Barn in the mall

Everybody, any comments or alternative fallback activities for Saturday?

Bellagio buffet:
(from various conversations)
I'm taking the liberty of moving this over here to ORG, as I think this
would be a valuable addition to the DLV lineup and a very popular
activity on an otherwise slow day.
Yvonne writes:
>I know the Bellagio buffet was bumped from wed for Quark's bar

>Star Trek ride (can't remember if I sighed up or not).
You can always check the sign-up stats at the URL of:

>It makes good sense. I'm curious to try Romulan Ale. I hear it makes
>your mouth turn blue from the food coloring. Someone told me it LOOKS

Hmmm ... a beverage that reminds somebody of an industrial disinfectant.
Sounds like a particular YELLOW liquid. :)

The Lunch With/out Ginger was never intended to be a "sacred" activity,
and is open to multi-tracking. I'm sure Ginger would agree with me on
this.
>But, I still would like to go to the Bellagio sometime during DLV. I

>I was wondering when you were gonna make a Bellagio buffet suggestion.

I really don't think the big crowd will arrive before the mid afternoon.
... and Yvonne once again ...
>The Bellagio buffet is very popular, has good food and reputation and
>relatively well priced based on what is served. Its hard to predict
>how big of the crowd will be. It also depends on the time we go.
>Considering its also Mother's Day weekend, it could be more crowded

Not to bring up the MD issue again <vbfg> but those who celebrate
Mothers Day as a three-day event will be in the minority. I doubt if
there will be anything of an overwhelming crowd at Bellagio (or any
other hotel) on Friday due to that factor.
>At last year's Bellagio lunch, everyone arrived, ate, and left at

Yes, you are.

What I would suggest it this ... Let's put it on the schedule and
consider it an informal brunch/lunch not unlike the Lunch With/out
Ginger, except that Ginger will not be there. Actually, I shouldn't
speak for Ginger, she may want to do Bellagio on Friday instead of
Sahara.
All we really need is one pretty face to stand there and be recognized,
and it looks like we will have at least two or three.
I'll get this on the schedule, with a default time of noon. If you
want to change the time, just say so. Only a few keystrokes.

Saturday "activity":

Linda, you have every right to say something. It's feedback from
you and the others here on the ORG list that we greatly need when
we have issues such as this.
>One of the things I really like about DLV, at least 2003 because that's

Very true, thanks for commenting, and please feel free to do so
regularly. :)

I'll be sending out a final sign-up tally on Friday the 30th. We can
also keep tabs on any of those on the list who fail to show up by the
date they said they would.
>thanks for the help on the pity party issue. dont want any

Ok, I'll add this to the note that will go out. I'm expecting to make
a mid-week mailing, most likely Wednesday, to the general DLV list.

Or as some say ... "What happens in uncorporated Clark County stays
in unincorporated Clark County" <bfg>. :)
Thanks, Mindy. :)
It seems like everybody, at least the DLV organizational types who have
spoken out, are on the same page with this.
I would ask everybody to please read the draft of the note that will go
to the YS gang shortly, and comment if you feel strongly one way or
another on it.

Note to Joanne and Opal:
Unless somebody says "Stop", this note will go out to the YS gang
tomorrow. Thanks to Aiko for taking the initiative in drafting this
note, and thanks to "Mikee" for some quick off-the-clock legal advice.
. . . . . . . . . .
Opal and Joanne,
My name is Aiko and I'm one of the Diva Las Vegas coordinators.
Although we understand that you have every right to schedule and promote
activities that are independent from our organization, we are concerned
that your web site gives the impression that your event has some
connection with our event.
On Saturday, April 17, we observed an attempt to post a notice and a
link to your web site in the DLV Discussion Forum. From what I gather,
you are trying to promote an independent event during DLV week. That
would be fine, if you are willing to follow the guidelines established
for any activities.
Checking the registration list, Opal is registered, but not signed up
for any activities. Joanne is not registered, at least by that name and
e-mail address. At this time, we have placed Opal's registration on
hold, pending your response to this e-mail, as we can only infer that
Opal's sole purpose of attending our event is to promote your event.
Looking at the website from the link you sent, you are using the Diva
Las Vegas logo, on which we hold a valid copyright (1999) Also, you are
referring to your party as if it is associated with DLV, which it is
not.
We are considering this as unauthorized use of the Diva Las Vegas logo
and as a case of copyright infringement. We are requesting that you
remove the DLV logo from your web site and refrain from using it unless
we authorize you to do so.
Diva Las Vegas has a mature theme, but definitely is not a
sexually-oriented event, which your is. As you probably know, we
have tried to maintain an overall respectful image of DLV.
We sent you a response to your initial posting attempt, which you appear
to have ignored.
Let me assure you, your ad and link will not appear in the discussion
forum in its present form.
In order to have any reference to your page in any of our media, your
web page would have to be modified considerably. Under our terms of
service with the organization that provides our connectivity, we cannot
display or cannot link to pages showing arousal and penetration.
Now, if you would like to backtrack and follow our established
guidelines, and formally present a proposal to the DLV Organizers, we
will consider it. Personally, I think it would be a fun activity.
However, it MUST go through the proper DLV channels.
Before any proposal is made, you must first remove the Diva Las Vegas
logo from your website, along with any reference to DLV, since you are
not currently part of the DLV event. Once that is done, reply to this
address with your proposed activity. We will then consider it and get
back to you with a decision.
Aiko
