Activity sign-ups continue to come in. Looks like about 70% of them have
been filled out. Next batch (and reminders for those who did not respond)
goes out Friday.

These have been coming in at the rate of a few per hour today, with
several people changing selections, even multiple times.

Doves filled to capacity in 1 1/2 days, which was expected.

Hamburger Mary's is full now, but we do have some slack on this, and the
past 2 years this had a very high drop-out rate, so I don't see anybody
being turned away.

Hard Rock filled on Tuesday afternoon. Deb? Ginger? is 50 the correct
capacity limit on this?

Surprisingly, the trip to Rhyolite filled quickly.

Limo tour filled last night, then emptied by 2, then filled back up. :)
Until yesterday there was a very good "balance" between the Limo Tour
and the Pity Party. Logs show that a few people had attempted to sign up
for both, but the trigger in the script caught it. :)

Tootsye? Jamie? I'm getting a lot of questions about pre-payment for the
Limo Tour. What should I tell them?

Carluccio's will most likely fill this week sometime. Most of the others
still have some slack.
. . . . .

There are still (AHEM!) a few outstanding activity sign-ups for people
on this list. (HINT!)
. . . . .

Is anybody local acquainted with a Sabrina, somewhere in Nevada? She
appears not to "get it" regarding validation, possibly not very computer
savvy. I've written offering assistance with no response. Anybody know
this person?

Yes, we're showing more cancellations this early in the game than we did
last year, but I think this is a good thing, since they appear to be
more conscientious about not just blowing it off.

SO Luncheon:

Well, gang, looks like there *WILL* be a SO activity after all ...

Julieanne writes:

>What are your thoughts on this?

My only thought is that it's an excellent idea. Let's consider it a done
deal and let's get it on the schedule. I'll be sure to get this in the
next general mailing.

I think with the timing, there will certainly be a better turnout than
we've had at similar activities in the past that were closer to the
other scheduled things.

Big thanks to Lee for taking this one on.

I'm assuming that this is open to SO's only (meaning for the SO's, and
not for couples) and for all SO's, male or female. Correct?

If you want to get a current count of how many SO's are signed up to
attend, http://www.geekbabe.com/cgi-bin/dlv/ppant.cgi

The SO totals for newcomers and returnees will be at the bottom. For a
SWAG, multiply the returnees by 90% and the newcomers by 40% and that
will give you a guess at how many potential participants you have.

Art tour capacity:

Sarah writes:

There are currently 4 signed up. This is a skewed count, since I did
not get this on the sign-up screen originally. You did say "requested
but not required" in the description, so I don't think this will hurt
attendance.

It's my impression that the Art Tour will work well whether it's with
just a handful or with a small mob. :)

>Also, if anyone has specific questions about this activity, please let
>me know and I'll try and dig up the answer.

Thanks, Sarah. I'm sure there will be questions in person once DLV
starts.

And, don't at all be shy about encouraging people to do this one in
person.

I've set the capacity limit high enough that it will not take effect.

Boat update:

As some of you know, Diane has found a significant price break for the
Lake Mead cruise.

>Just signed onto lakemeadcruises.com. They are now offering a 2 for 1
>Mid day sightseeing cruise coupon. This would drop the price per person
>down from $16.15 to about $11 (*).

The sign-up screen has been adjusted and there will be a note in the
next general mailing giving details.

I also have the capacity limit on this set quite high. We currently have
25 signed up, of which the magic formula says 16.5 will actually show
up. Do we want to put a capacity limit on this, Diane?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
High Tea, parties, shopping:

>still no firm details on the tea.. diane is still looking at some
>options and its her baby. there will be a tea and the 25 or under
>range is realistic..

Thanks, Mindy. Just keep us informed. I'll keep reminding. :) :)

There are 24 signed up for it, and the magic formula says that the
real-world turnout from those will be 17.1, so there is a significant
demand for this.

>limits on pity party at 50 is fine..

Ok, that's what I have down. Just over 30 signed up so far.

>limits for garden party could probley be 60 as past history has shown
>some leave early and some come late..

Ok, I will adjust this up to 60.

>also need some help for the thrift shopping.. with the number of people
>signing up need some extra vehicles.. i might get 20 people in and on
>my mini van but the skirts blowing up from the ones we have to lash to
>the roof rack might cause some traffic problems. *LOL* so girls who
>want to shop we need some vehicles.. i can carry 6 plus myself in mine.

I have this down as a "carpool" activity, meeting at the San Remo. If
you want anything other than this, let me know in time for the LFM.

History is very consistent that there will be more drivers and vehicles
than we need {knocking on wood}. :)

>oh forgot on limits.. golf is a strict limit of 36 this year..

Got it set. As of this morning you have 24 signed up.
