I'll put both Comfort Inn and Bellagio on the nominated hotel list. I'm
assuming this is the Comfort Inn across and down from the Hard Rock. Am
I correct?
I'll also put Bellagio buffet lunch for the day of the air tours.

Here's the history of shows at DLV:
1997: La Cage (Frank Marino)
1998: Boylesque (Kenny Kerr), La Cage (Frank Marino)
1999: Boylesque (Kenny Kerr), La Cage (Frank Marino), Legends In Concert
2000: La Cage (Frank Marino), Splash
2001: Kenny Kerr Show, Folies
2002: LaFemme, La Cage (Frank Marino)
2003: Jubilee, Showgirls Of Magic
Although we had quite a bit of repetition in the first few years, not
everybody saw the shows multiple times.

Hotel, show, dates, and voting:

Ok, it's on the ballot for the vote in November.

>Showgirls but unfortunately I have no idea how to plan such an event so
>if anyone else is into setting it up I would prefer to assist only this

It's not that difficult. It can be almost trivial for this kind of show.
If you don't want to go thru the motions of negotiating a price break,
you just pick a show time, we announce for everybody who wants to go to
buy tickets and show up. Since the San Remo has maitre'd seating, those
who buy their tickets separately can always $it together a$ long a$ they
a$k nicely.
Assuming you want to negotiate a price break, contact the appropriate
group sales person and discuss the details. You can most likely do this
all by phone, since they (David Saxe sales department) now know what/who
DLV is. I can give you a contact person if you want.
Last year, to get the price break, we needed to do such things as handle
the collection, distribute the tickets, and help police the line of our
people.

If you're looking for something in October, I might suggest either:

http://www.genderalliance.com/fallharvest/
>If we do have a re-vote, Who is going to decide if and when it is
>final?
We (collectively) will decide. Although it's possible for somebody to
enter a motion at any time to do anything, I doubt if any series of
repetitive motions to reschedule would get much support.
It might be good to consider a standing rule along the line that
schedule changes require a 2/3 or 3/4 majority to carry. This would
prevent frivolous calls to do to, but leave the door open in case
a severe oversight were made or if unseen incidents should occur.
>Yes I am the dumb blonde who already booked time off because I thought

You are not the only one. Although I haven't put in the paperwork, I
did block the days off on our department calendar.

Schedule comments:
Here are my thoughts on the proposed schedule adjustment ...
On one hand, this does appear to be a very easy "fix" to allow a fuller
DLV for those who can't get away from a family commitment for Mothers
Day. It also answers a couple months beforehand a question we were going
to bring up in November and December, and that was to extend DLV by one
day.
It gives the High Tea fans not one but two real Sundays on which to plan
at tea, if they wish to do so. It also gives the MCC fans two real
Sundays as well.
On the other hand, if this motion carries it will mean a significant
increase in our workload. We will have 9 days, not 6, which will need
to be filled with activities. This includes two (2 -- count 'em -- 2)
Saturday evenings.
This also means that we will need to have some of our organizers (that's
us), not necessarily the same ones all the time, present from day 1 thru
day 9. As you can see above, many of us have stated that we may be
dropping in and out and not staying the full period, should the
extension happen. We will need to have adequate "coverage" over the
entire period.
Personally, I have no objection to the proposed schedule extension,
assuming that's what the group wants to do, and that everybody knows
that should the motion carry, it means more that we (meaning YOU) will
need to do to make DLV happen. Please consider your commitment and your
workload limits when casting your vote.

Tee and tea:
Mindy writes:

I'm not sure if you understand the complete question here. The limo and
show people were wondering if golf could be Thursday morning, so a
show-limo combination could happen Thursday evening and not spoil the
golf turnout the next day. Just want to be sure you completely
understand the question.
>on the subject of tea.. thurs works fine as diane did not realize

Thanks. I suggest all the tea people please make contact and work
out the who, where, etc. of this.

Hotels:

Looks like we have support for both the San Remo and Sahara. Here's the
slate of candidate hotels as it stands now. If I'm missing any, please
let me know. If anybody has more to add, please send them in.
(In order of nomination)
Sahara (multiple)
Comfort Inn (Gina)
Bellagio (Gina)
San Remo (multiple)
Stratosphere (Densie)
If anybody has any comments or discussion regarding the whole field of
suggesting hotels, now is the time to do it. We'll plan to vote on
these in November.
