Air, nuns, RHPS:

>>>We need to have air tours one day only, so the air crews can party.

>>Ok, just say which day.

>Surprise me.

Ok, Wednesday. Reasoning is that Tuesday is the least likely day to have
something that runs well into the wee hours. We can always adjust this
if necessary.

Speaking of Wednesday, I'm also putting in Goodtimes Karaoke in there,
since I'm sure at least some of the group will be going there.

>>Bevy? Is that the correct collective noun for Nuns

>I think so. Not sure I got the spelling correct, but remember the
>first Cheech and Chong movie? "Lost my best police dog, busted a bevy
>of nuns, a guy pi$$es on my leg...grumble...grumble.."

>Let us do Rocky Horror, even if it is 16mm or video. As for the cast
>politics, I don't see that there is any reason for us to get involved
>with it. RHPS was a big and popular part of the early DLV's and I
>really want it back.

I'll go to it. I'm sure we can get some others too. We just have to be
sure to double-check the schedule next April or so to be sure things
are still going on, as lots can change quickly in the RHPS scene.

High tea:

Jennifer writes:

>I noticed we didn't highlight or schedule the High Tea yet. Do we have
>any tentative dates yet?

Since you're the organizer, it's really your call, subject to the
approval of the group, of course.

As of this day, hour, minute, and second, almost all afternoons are
open, so pick one. There's plenty of time to make adjustments as needed
between now and when we start firming up the schedule. I would suggest
you make a tentative decision shortly and get it on the calendar so
you don't end up working around all other activities as the schedule
fills in.

Band for DLV 2004:

This came in just seconds after the July-August mailing went out.

Marilyn writes:

>hi, i was at diva las vegas two years ago. i'm now in an all
>transgender band and i think we all would like to consider playing at
>diva las vegas 2004. my band is called lipstick conspiracy, and our
>website with MP3's is: www.lipstickconspiracy.com

>let me know if you are interested.

I only vaguely remember Marilyn, but I seem to recall she may be local
to Las Vegas. Anybody local know of her or the band?

My questions are: Do we want to look into something like this? Where
would they play? What would we pay them with?

Looking back at the calendar, DLV 2002 was April 30 - May 5, only one
week later than DLV 2003.

Glamour Boutique update:

Copy of correspondence to keep everybody in the loop ...

Bill writes:

+>I am the new manager of Glamour Boutique in Las Vegas, and wanted to
+>just say Hi and that I am looking forward to hosting another open
+>house for you and the girls.

+Hi Bill, thanks for writing. Yes, we would be very interested in
+another GB open house for DLV 2004.

+>Please let me know when I need to contact you to schedule a day, and
+>see if you have any ideas of what the girls would like. I know in the
+>past we have done wig styling lessons, but do not know how they where
+>received, or if they would rather have other functions.

+DLV 2004 is tentatively scheduled to run from Monday, May 3 thru
+Saturday, May 8, 2004. These dates will be considered final at the end
+of August unless we get a significant number of objections to them.

+Our daily schedule is mostly blank at this time. When you want to hold
+the open house is really up to you. Just about any weekday afternoon
+will work. Later in the week will give you a potentially larger
+audience.

+For DLV 2002 and 2003 the GB open house was on Thursday afternoon. If
+that timeslot works for you, you can have it. We can put you down
+tentatively for this timeslot if you want. It can always be changed if
+necessary. This year we want to have the schedule solid one month
+before DLV, or about the first of April.

+>I look forward to working with you.

+Thanks Bill. We're looking forward to your participation in DLV 2004.
+I usually get into LV on business occasionally, so if/when I'll be sure
+to stop in and say hi.

They tell me (the ubiquitous "they") that Steph Williams is no longer
with Glamour Boutique and has plans to open up her own shop Real Soon

We'll include this in a compilation of comments at the end of the month.
