DLV timeframe:

We've had a third nomination for a DLV timeframe. I do have some
reservations about those dates, however. See item below.

Tomorrow a special "Call For Votes" mailing will go out to everybody on
this list. To vote, just reply to the special mailing when it arrives,
clearly indicating your choice of the timeframes:

A. Monday, May 3 thru Saturday, May 8, with a possible extension of one
day either way.

B. Monday, May 17 thru Saturday, May 22, with a possible extension of one
day either way.

C. Monday, April 19 thru Saturday, April 24, with a possible extension
of one day either way.

Everybody on this list is eligible to vote. Polls will remain open until
24 hours elapse with no further votes being received.

Please watch for the Call For Votes mailing tomorrow. If you do not
receive one sometime tomorrow, write in (dlvorg@geekbabe.com) and state
that you have not received it.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm asking everybody to please consider the
lock-out factor of some long-time attendees when casting your votes.

DLV 2004 dates:

I'll consider this a nomination for those dates and put them on the
ballot.

However, I'm personally against this timeframe for a number of reasons:

1. It will effectively totally lock out Michelle. To do DLV and N+I and
her other stateside plan, it would mean three trips for Michelle, as
opposed to two.

2. It will lock out Julie, who is required by her employer to be in
Laughlin for the River Run, which is scheduled to occur from April
21-25.

3. It will make it difficult for me if I'm the one from our department
who attends N+I next year, as it will require two trips. It will also
make it difficult for anybody who wants to do DLV and N+I on one plane
ticket.

Tea Time:

I don't see any objections to anybody scheduling another High Tea or
anything as an option for those staying over.

However, I do think we should first concentrate on the slate of
activities on our regular schedule before we tackle any extensions or
options.

While I certainly would not consider the Limo Tour to be a "casual"
activity, I do agree that customary dress for High Tea and customary
dress for the Limo Tour, are not one and the same. I also assumed that
there would be some time between the two activities, since it was
mentioned that HT would begin at 4:00pm. If HT runs for 2 hours, 6:00pm
is too early for the Limo Tour to begin.

I think the point was, that the Limo Tour does not have to go hand in
hand with a show, as it has been done the past few years.
