Org List:
This is the DLV 2003 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.
Ongoing activity database appears on line at:

Activity signup - outstanding items:
We're on track to begin our activity signup on March 10 (just under 2
weeks from today) with the exception of the following item.
Mindy and Diane. We need a date and approximate time for the SO's
get-together. We don't need location yet, just day and about what time
in the day (like Friday afternoon) so people will know and can make
plans when they sign up.
I have the following activities set up for activity sign-up and
headcounts:
1. Area 15 and A-Le-Inn, Monday
2. Hamburger Mary's dinner, Tuesday evening
3. Hidden Woman wig styling, Wednesday afternoon
4. Hidden Woman comportment workshop, Wednesday afternoon
5. Sasha's dinner-show, Wednesday evening
6. Air tour 1, Thursday morning
7. Glamour Boutique passing seminar, Thursday afternoon
8. Jubilee show, Thursday evening
9. Limo Tour, Thursday evening
10. Air tour 2, Friday morning
11. Golf, Friday
12. SO's gathering (need date/time)
13. Carluccio's dinner, Friday evening
14. SBS Garden Party, Saturday afternoon
15. Showgirls Of Magic, Saturday evening
16. English High Tea, Sunday afternoon
Anything missing that needs a headcount or a hoop-jump? These are very
easy to add BEFORE sign-up begins, and extremely difficult to add once
sign-up is underway.
. . . . .
About capacity limits ... This year I plan to be far more assertive
regarding the courtesy of correctly signing up, and cancelling if they
find they do not want to do something. There will be multiple
admonitions to be courteous to coordinators and those in a waiting
capacity, and to help us keep our headcounts accurate.
I have the following capacity limits for various activities. If these
are incorrect or should be adjusted, please let me know. If there's
something I don't have a limit on which we should have a limit on,
again, let me know. Some of these I took from your numbers, others from
last year, and on some I just guessed.
Coordinators will always have the option of adjusting or admitting as
many as they can handle, these numbers are the point at which we start
telling people that they are in a waiting list status and they may not
get to do something unless space opens up.
If any of these are incorrect, please let me know the correct numbers.
These can easily be adjusted upward at any time.
HM's dinner, Tuesday: 60
Hidden Woman wig styling, Wednesday: 40
Hidden Woman comportment workshop, Wednesday: 40
Sasha's dinner and show, Wednesday: 70
Air Tour 1, Thursday: 12
Glamour Boutique Passing Seminar, Thursday: 40
Jubilee show, Thursday: 49
Limo Tour, Thursday: 36
Air Tour 2, Friday: 12
Golf, Friday: 24
Carluccio's dinner, Friday: 50
SBS Garden Party, Saturday: 35
High Tea, Sunday: 25
Please let me know if these numbers are not correct, or if there are
activities where we don't have a capacity limit but need one.

Going going gone:
In the past two weeks we have not had anybody come forward to claim the
role of Shuttle Van Mistress ... not even a peep.
Therefore, I would like to declare this a dead issue for DLV 2003. Yes,
I know it's possible to book one of these with only an hours notice or
so, but we can't let our people hang on this.
Looking over the registrations, it again appears that the number of
available seats will far exceed those needing rides. We have 34 who
state they have a vehicle and can give others rides, and only 11 who
need rides.
Therefore, if no objections come in I will announce in the next general
mailing that the shuttle van will not be happening for DLV 2003 and
recap the ride share situation.

Laundry-list cleanup and clarifications:
Although this item is fairly long, please read it carefully, as Monique
covers many important points about several items.
Monique writes:
>>As of this time we have 74 registrations, 10 with SO's, for a total of
>>84 signed up so far.
Latest numbers: 83 registrations, 14 SO's, total 97.
>I've talked to a handful of other sisters, prior DLV attendees that
>will only be showing up for the weekend. I suspect we'll see another
>10-15 sisters and their SO's for the weekend only. I've urged them to

>>be drafted, conscripted, impressed to service on the Crowd Control
>>Committee if necessary! :)

>Comments?
Ok, everybody take note, Monique will be heading up the DLV 2003 Crowd
Control Committee. :)
Seriously, I think it's a very good idea to publish the capacity numbers
in advance, both for the activities where we have finite limits, but
also for those which do not, giving approximate numbers. Coordinators,
please see the note regarding capacity limits above.
I don't think we'll be overwhelmed this year. I do anticipate some
fallout, both for non-response on the activity sign-up, and yes, a
significant number of flat-out no-shows.
>Welcome back Mindy and glad your vacation schedule got fixed! For the
>DLVOrg group, Mindy and I talked by phone as soon as I heard the news,
>and we have further info about the SBS Garden Party (see below).
Yes, we're all glad things worked out for Mindy. I was kinda sweating
things there.
. . . . .
Limo stuff:
>>>I toss my garter into the "YES" vote box for the secondary Limo
>>>Pickup at HMs.
>>Ok, so noted. Looks like we do have a demand for a secondary limo
>>pickup at HM's on Thursday. Monique, is this OK with your plans?
>I have no problem with HM being a second pickup point. I do have two
>questions in order to coordinate the limo stops. As I see it, the first
>limo stop will be at Bally's after the show, then we can swing by HM's
>for the second stop. My questions are: one, to Aiko - what time does
>the show at Bally's end? My second question is what time does CGT end?
IIRC, CGT has no set end time. Michelle?
>Bear in mind sisters, we are going to have the limos stocked with your
>fav beverage and snacks. I believe that Annie is going to ask ya'll
>that sign up for the Limo tour to indicate what you want to have in the

>liquor store and loose 30-45 minutes of touring time. Now it just as
>important that your requests for the limo you want to ride in will be
>stocked with what you want.
Questions are on the sign-up screen. I'll be giving you a report on
it at the first of DLV.
>All limos will be NON-Smoking. For those of us sisters that smoke (like
>me) can do so at the various stops we will make.
Ok, I will remove the smoke/no question on the sign-up screen.
I'm also assuming then drink/no limos will be a dead issue.
>>>I do understand that we need to have a good supply of "POTTY CUPS"
>>>for a few gurls that have weak bladders.... giggle. Just hope the
>>I hope you are kidding here. IMAO, that's totally 144!
>>I do think we have a need for some kind of a mid-tour "bio break"
>Well, some of us have weeker bladders than others. I only plan on
>having one bio-break during the limo tour, so some suggestions:
>Just before you board the limo, run to the ladies or mens room and take

>restrooms... while it was an interesting site, and great photo ops
>outside of the Four Queens, we did not give them any business cash wise
>and IMHO, we got away with it. I don't wish to see that happen this
>year).
There's really no reason a few individuals couldn't simply wander in
at each stop and do their business if they really needed to, but I
think it might be a good idea to have one mid-tour stop at a place
that is known to be t-friendly to catch those who are a bit shy to
go in the more mainstream places.
>Payment for limos:
>I will be at every major venue at DLV'03. Payment will be based on the
>number of sisters that sign up for the Limo tour.
>I plan on reserving 6-passenger limos, like Aiko did last year. Once
>you give me your payment (which should be roughly $20 per person
>without tip to your limo driver), you will get a limo pass.
Is $20 enough? Will this cover the limo and the booze?
>I will accept payments up to Thursday morning of DLV'03. No payments
>will be accepted after that. Preference is on a first paid, first
>served basis.
Ok, I will get this in the sign-up screen and on the final activity
notes.
>If you also wish to ride in the limo's with specific people, we will
>do the best to accommodate your requests. I found that riding with
>people you barely know makes the experience so much more fulfilling!
>Stops for the limo tour: I'm open to where ya'll want to have limo
>stops for photo-op's, etc. I can tell you from my experience from last
>year's limo tour, the most popular places were: the fountains in front

>timed right if we are to that again this year), the Four Queens, and
>Annie's favorite dive, the DelMar :) I'm open to suggestion. Annie,
>maybe this is something that should be listed in the venue sign-up for
>the limo tour.
My favorite? :)
My suggestion is to not open the can of worms WRT asking the masses for
itinerary at sign-up. (Once a can of worms is opened, it is impossible
to re-can them without getting a much larger can. :)
I suggest you have a tentative itinerary, and adjust it if needed once
things get underway. Most people won't really care what the exact trip
route is (many have no clue what's there in LV), just so it's
interesting and fun.
>I also want to thank Yvonne for offering to loan us her three
>walkie-talkies again this year! We take you up on this offer!
I think I asked this before, but don't remember getting a response. If
any FRS walkie talkies are compatible with yours, I would be willing to
pick up one or two additional ones, since I see them on sale all the
time around here. Are there any restrictions on what brand or type will
work with yours, Yvonne?

>attending. I will be at all nine - God willing. Hehehe.
About the only thing I don't see here is the Annual Mixer. I'm sure we
will be getting some showing up there for the first time. If you're not
going to be there, I'm sure we can get somebody to cover.
>I also want to specifically give a HUGE THANK YOU to Jena for printing
>up the nametags this year! Hugs THANKS! Jeaa, please email me so we

Jena, here's the approximate schedule for the activity sign-ups, after
which we will have the first list of those reconfirmed:
March 10: First activity sign-up mailing
March 16: Reminder for non-response
March 21: Warning for non-response
March 26: Cancellation for non-response.
Therefore I'll be getting you a list of the reconfirmed people around
the last weekend in March.
For those registering after March 10, I'll be sending out the sign-ups,
reminders, etc., on approximately 5 day intervals.

Detail map of Mindy's area appears at this one on that page:
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2003/maps/dmap15.gif
This is still very much in progress, so some items may not yet appear,
and there still may be some stale ones.
As always, detailed driving directions will go out in the large final
mailing.

A Personal Note or two:
Karaoke:

IMAO, both Shania Twain and Faith Hill are capable of turning Elton
John straight! :)

VG Wigs and Shopping:

Thanks, Leah. I'll send her a note saying you will be in and will
work out the details.

Any suggestion for an alternative? We do need to have a definite meeting
place, published in advance, for the shopping trip and the side trip on
Sunday.
Suggestions?

Another demo offer:
Kyleen (local to LV, apparently) sends the following. I'm copying my
response to keep everybody in the loop.
Comments?
Kyleen writes:

+>2. Hair Cutting, styling and coloring

+>Let me know and I will set it up.
+What I would suggest you do as soon as possible is add this shop to the
+vendor list at http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/vendors/
+The link to add a firm is close to the top of the page.
+I'll forward this to the DLVORG group and get comments about adding
+something like this on the schedule.
+Another option might be to offer some kind of a special discount or
+promotion to DLV people. We announce things like that in the large final
+mailing.
+I'll let you know what develops, thanks.
