Wow:
This mailing is long, and covers a lot of little items.
As of this time we have 74 registrations, 10 with SO's, for a total of 84
signed up so far.
Four Michelles and three Tinas! Only one Annie so far >>>>HINT<<<<! :)
Three Cindys, two Denises, no Densie yet >>>>HINT<<<<! :)
The recent registrations have been more newcomers than returnees.
Out of 74, 40 have stated they have attended in the past, and 32 have
stated this will be their first time. Again, a very good mix between
newcomers and veterans.
This year I promise I will not panic if it looks like registrations will
reach astronomical numbers. However (comma) those of you who object to
capping registration will be drafted, conscripted, impressed to service
on the Crowd Control Committee if necessary! :)
It may indeed be the case that our limits may be determined by how many
the venue for each activity can handle.

Some very good news:
Mindy writes:

That's super, Mindy! Really glad things worked out for you. I'm sure
those who volunteered to help out will assist as needed.
>due to the policy change remind me to put in for my vacation as soon as
>the dates for diva 2004 are firm.
Ok. {tying string around finger} :)

Abdication:

Perhaps not the best choice of words, but it's a way of euphemistically
saying "sh*t or get off the pot!" :) :) :)

Worshiping and shipping:

If you can please look when you get a chance, I do want to have this
for the final mailing, but I want to put this on the web too in the
LV TG Guide pages.
>OK to send clothes ahead to Hidden Woman once again this year. Just

Thanks, Leah. I'll just use the verbiage I have for last year on the
final mailing for this year. I'll also put this in the announcement list
for the next mailing.
+Leona at the Hidden Woman Boutique has agreed to let DLV people
+ship items to her store in advance of DLV. If you want to ship items,
+pack them carefully and ship to:
+The Hidden Woman
+610 East Sahara
+Ste 250
+Las Vegas, NV 89104
+Attn: Hold for DLV {your name}
+Packages may then be picked up at HW during normal business hours.
+Please note that this will be at your own risk, and that DLV organizers
+and volunteers and Hidden Woman are not responsible for loss, delay,
+fire, or anything else that goes wrong.

Ok, so noted. Looks like we do have a demand for a secondary limo
pickup at HM's on Thursday. Monique, is this ok with your plans?

I hope you are kidding here. IMAO, that's totally 144!
I do think we have a need for some kind of a mid-tour "bio break"
perhaps a drive-by of someplace that is known to be t-friendly, or at
least t-oblivious.

Wednesday is probably a good day to have something like this. You will
get very few mommies with rugr^H^H^H^Hkids in tow and very few mall-rats
compared to Belz or Boulevard.
As I'm sure I have said before, I have reservations with the time. I'm
sure you will have a much better turnout if you would depart 11:30 or
12 or so. I know you have mentioned the lack of morning activities,
but the reality is that most of our people do not rise early at DLV.
However, this one is your game, so it's your call as to when to start.
As for an activity for a first-time organizer, this one is low-overhead
and low-maintenance. All you really have to do is show up, schlep all
the people down there, and be sure you have the correct headcount when
you bring them all back.
As the organizer, you are probably gonna have some people, especially
the newer ones, look to you for advice and support. You can do things as
you see fit, but I would suggest the usual guidelines for mall shopping,
such as not hanging around in groups. I would suggest shopping
individually or in pairs. You will notice that GG's (those over 17 or
so, anyway :) seldom if ever shop in groups.
Assuming you will be going in girlmode, you might be sure that you have
a "bail-out kit" with you, should there be an emergency, or an unforseen
circumstance such as a flat tire.

There's another comment to this effect above or below here. Monique,
do you have any issues of a second limo pickup at HM's?
>(someone please talk me into it I would love to take a chance)!
{arm twist} You will have plenty of moral support. With reserved seats,
there will be less time on line, plus if that bothers you, with the
reserved seat, you can always wait someplace like at a slot machine
until the line goes down.
>3) Friday afternoon. Maybe a group trip to one of the off strip

(I am not a golfer, nor do I play one on line, but ...) Golf works best
in multiples of four. You might mention to Mindy and BL that you would
be available if necessary to fill out a foursome, etc.

You're very welcome, and we're glad to have you with us both as a
participant and an organizer. I think you will find that this year's
event will allow you to get out and grow like you never imagined.

Actually, I think both the limo tour and show were handled quiet well
last year. Both seemed to work out quite nicely.

>purchase the number of tickets that were paid for the evening before
>(up to 49). These tickets will then be handed out Wednesday at the
>Hidden Woman Open House and evening dinner venue.
I think that's more than fair.
I might suggest the following verbiage to appear on the activity sign-up
screen and on the various notices in the announcement list:
"Tickets will be distributed on a first-paid first-served basis, with
priority given to the first 49 who appear on the sign-up list. As of
Wednesday morning, those on the sign-up list in a waiting capacity will
have priority on any remaining tickets. If you will not be at any DLV
activities prior to Wednesday morning and you want to attend, you must
send in prepayment to be assured a seat."
>If any of the girls didn’t pay on Tuesday evening, they’ll have to go
>to Bally’s and purchase their own seat, if they want to see the show.
>They will also have to take their chances on seat assignment. Also, if
>any of the girls know they will not be there on Tuesday at Hamburger
>Mary’s, they can contact me through e-mail and send $ prior to DLV2003
>for their Jubilee seat.
And we can add "Please write to dlv@geekbabe.com for prepayment info."
>As far as the Limo Tour, I feel that Monique will do a wonderful job,
>but the girls need to commit and pay prior to Thursday morning so she
>can reserve another limo if needed.
I would suggest the following verbiage WRT the limo tour:
"Limo tour admission will be on a first-paid first-served basis with
priority give to the first 36 (or 42 or 48, gimme a number) on the
sign-up list. Latecomers may not get to participate if there are not
enough to fill an additional limo."
Monique, is this wording OK with you?
We need to encourage our people to not procrastinate. AFAIC, Wednesday
morning is more than fair for a cutoff on both activities.

The best thing for you to do is to stand by to assist handing these out
at most of the early DLV activities. Monique will be the one
coordinating this. It's really impractical to give one person half of
them, since the people will be looking for one common place to pick them
up and they will not be coming in at any one predictable time.
I believe the busy times for check-in will be the following:
1. Tuesday HH and dinner, HM's
2. Tuesday Welcome Celebration, Flex
3. Wednesday HH and dinner, Sasha's
4. Friday HH, Dinner, Annual Mixer
It's probably best to have at least two people standing by at 1 and 2
above, since that will be the crunch time, and just about all of the
newcomers have some questions, concerns, or needs.
Of course people will be trickling in all times between Tuesday and
Saturday, possibly with 1-2 even coming on Sunday.
Monique will be the one who is in charge of the who, what, where type
of partuclars WRT check-in.

Vegas Girl Wigs:

>A bit scatterbrained here....was I supposed to be looking into the
>other wig shop in town you just mentioned in your last entry to the
>discussion list? If so, please refresh me as to who and what and I'll
>look into it.
I'm maybe a bit scatterbrained here too. The wig shop I think you're
referring to is Vegas Girl Wigs, which has been a very good community
supporter for many years.
I've had some e-mail exchanges with Susan (owner) regarding something
for DLV, and I'm including my latest to her here, which went out Monday
IIRC.
If you want to stop in and touch bases personally, that would be fine.
The shop is on Eastern, a couple blocks north of Sahara on the east
side of the street. Very friendly staff.
(See late note.) I'll respond and say you will be in contact with her
to work out the specific details.
I do think an ongoing promotion or discount would be better in her case
than an open house session. The shop is small, and even two vanloads
back in 2000 (2001?) filled the shop to capacity. Plus, a Wednesday or
Thursday affair would run against HW or GB which are more centrally
located, so I think the turnout down there would be poor.
Comments?
+>I think maybe Saturday afternoon would be good.
+Saturday has its good and bad points.
+Saturday will probably get you the largest potential group of DLV
+people, but you will be going up against one planned activity on
+Saturday afternoon, the SBS Garden party. Not all of our people will
+attend this, but a significant percentage will.
+Another disadvantage of Saturday is that it's toward the end of the
+DLV event and some people might not want to wait.
+>Usaully how long is the time in hours?
+That is entirely up to you. The two t* shops designated certain hours
+in an afternoon last year.
+>Maybe I could offer all wig at a reduced price.
+>Or maybe shampoo and wig condition free with all purchases.
+>let me know what you feel like is the best idea.
+The more I think about it, the more I think that in your case, instead
+of one designated time, maybe something of a "Open Open House", meaning
+that you invite them any and all times from Tuesday thru Sunday, and
+offer something like a token discount for all DLV people, shampoo and
+condition with all purchases, etc. Since you have a smaller shop this
+might be better than one designated time.
+Please let me know what works for you.
. . . . .
Late note, this just came in this morning, I have not responded yet.
+Should we do it on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday, let me know The earlier
+is better for me.
+20 dollars discount would be a good draw
I'm gonna respond saying that I think a $20 discount (on wigs) would
indeed be a good thing.
