Thanks. I think we can safely say that the dates are now solid, so
Friday April 25 will be the Carluccio's/Goodtimes evening.

>Might not be next week tho....gonna be busy with the Hidden Woman

No hurry. We have 8 months. :)

Michael's a cutie! Please give him my regards, and let him know we're
coming back in April.

Hotels:

Now that our dates are set, the next item on our plate that has a
definite deadline is our hotel selection, which we previously agreed
should be finished sometime in November, which would give us just over
two months.

As I've mentioned before, I would like to see this decided upon by a
popular vote on each property around the first of November. This will not
only give a yes/no for each property, but will have a side-effect of
calling the question on such things as range of scale and location.

A few of my own comments on this ...

I think our suggested hotels are most important to those who either do
not know Las Vegas or are concerned about the tolerance and friendliness
of a property.

As I've previously remarked, I'm not at all opposed to suggesting new
and different properties, upscale properties, or properties concentrated
in a particular area. I am, however, opposed to removing the suggestions
of the properties our people like. (We would look very stupid if we were
to say "... our suggested hotels are x and y, but most of our people are
staying over at z ...")

I've placed three properties in nomination, Sahara, Imperial Palace, and
Bellagio. Our people like the Sahara and the IP, and there's been call
for a more upscale place, hence the Bellagio. I would like to see others
nominate any properties they would like to see considered for this.

I think we need to be VERY careful if we plan to suggest a place that is
not known to be t-friendly.

We've had a number of other places mentioned here over the past few
months. I would like to see those of you who strongly favor other
properties to place those properties in nomination, for discussion here,
and for an eventual vote.

I think Milano's is best for individuals or small informal groups. I do
think we've outgrown them in regards to a scheduled group gathering.

Am I misunderstanding things? Were the people cold, or was the food cold?

Or both?

Yes, I think plans are falling into place quite nicely.

DLV Discussion list:

As you may know, we're going to try something a bit different this
coming year with regard to mailing lists. The main DLV list will be for
announcements and high-importance material only, and we'll move the
Q&A and the discussion over to a separate list.

The new list (dlvdisc) will have a dual personality. It will be
available as a mailing list for those who want it, and also as a web
forum with the same content.

Although it probably will not become active for a few months, I'm going
to get it all set up and shaken down now, so it will be ready for prime
time when it's needed. I'm going to put the org list people on the
discussion list, to keep everybody in the loop. You can expect a test
message and an introductory message shortly.

For those who have already subscribed to the discussion list, I want to
apologize for cluttering up your inboxes with test messages the other
day. I had forgotten that people were actually on that list.

Golf feedback:

Here's feedback that was received in response to the monthly mailing.
Some of this came in very shortly after the mailing was sent.
