Parking etc.:
>Parking and getting to and from seems to be a general roadbump... that
>could be solved with some of us meeting at the Sahara eg, and parking
>where Annie suggested a few weeks back ( can be accessed from Paradise
>Rd and avoid strip traffic )as a gathering spot before sheduled events,
>Thereby parking our rental cars in a safe place so as to be able to
>retrieve them either the same night if the booze didn't get you or the
>next morning in boy or girl mode if it did.
Would the masses really prefer two moves (one to the staging area,
another en masse to the activity) over one move directly to the
activity?
IMAO, parking is an issue only in a few of our activity locations.
Sasha's was one of the worst, among other places in the area, but they
were taking steps to alleviate the mess.
I really don't see this as too much of a problem at 5:30 on a weekday,
(at Sasha's) but those arriving later in the evening may have to hunt a
bit for a parking place.
Note to Michelle, Leah, Mindy, Billie, etc.: Has Sasha's initiated valet
or other parking arrangements? If not, are they still planning to do so?
We don't currently have anything at the Riviera (the other place
mentioned as having a parking issue) so far this year, but I see this
more as an issue of knowing where the parking was and exactly how to get
there, than an issue of availability. I thought I had this covered on
the directions in the final mailing, but I guess for some it did not
work.
>The suggestion of using van type limo's to hold more of us ie:- extra

Yes, of course. :)
I have a question to the DLVORG group: How much of the responsibility of
transportation (for our people) do we want to assume?
I think we need to answer this and set a general principle. We don't
have to have an answer now, but it's something to think about.
As I think back, being somebody who has driven vans 3 out of the last 6
years and given others rides the other years, the biggest challenge has
not been traffic or parking, but getting everybody together and ready to
go at the agreed-upon times.
One person running late causes kind of a chain reaction. I remember one
person complaining about having to stand out waiting at the IP "getting
read right and left" because somebody was late at the last pickup
location, and I've lost count of the times I've had to ask somebody to
"go in and find so-and-so" because they were not ready and waiting.
>Also I like the Idea of Womens Improv night which may even include the
>Karaoke, wouldn't hurt to try it I think. I might even get my wife
>talked into that one.
>Comments please!
No shortage of comments at all. :)
Assuming this is still running on Wednesdays next April, I'm sure it
will get out early enough to allow people to migrate over to Goodtimes
for Karaoke, since that runs well into the wee hours.
+ 5:30pm Happy Hour (Sasha's)
+ 6:30pm Dinner (Sasha's / Milano's)
+ 8:00pm Club Girl Talk
+ ???? Womens Improv (Greek Isles)
+ 10:30pm Karaoke (Goodtimes)
It appears to me that Wednesday is taking shape as quite the
smorgasbord, of which people can choose activities to their liking. I
see this as a good thing<tm>. Those who want a one-stop-shop for the
evening can certainly get this at Sasha's, and those who want some
variety can have that as well. Best of both worlds, imao.
Looking backward into the afternoon, I'm sure there will be one or more
activities such as an open house, and maybe a swimming party. For those
who need some downtime, such downtime may have to be one of their
options in lieu of one of the scheduled activities.

Transportation:
>>>Did anyone have any insurmountable problem finding a ride? Most had
>>>their own cars from what I could see.
>>Survey and verbal feedback says that difficulty getting a ride was the
>>exception and not the rule.
>As you've said over and over, this is Diva and not SCC. Going to
>different events at different places is part of the game. Some girls
>who have just gone to something like SCC park their cars at the start
>and don't see them again until the end of the affair.
>>>3. Chartered shuttle. If this is to work, those using it **MUST** be
>>Might work for going to an event, but everyone wants to leave at
>>different times and some want to go some place else, not back to the
>>hotel.
>Part of enjoying Diva is being able to come and go as you wish. If
>all of a sudden, a group of girls wants to go off to some other bar
>or something, they do it. Being tied to a shuttle bus hurts that.
>What if someone wants to go back and turn in before the bus arrives.
I agree that a shuttle van presents some logistical challenges. Looking
again at Wednesday evening, I see the necessity of the following trips
if a good percentage of our people use such a shuttle:
+ 5:30pm Happy Hour (Sasha's)
+ 6:30pm Dinner (Sasha's / Milano's)
+ 8:00pm Club Girl Talk
+ ???? Womens Improv (Greek Isles)
+ 10:30pm Karaoke (Goodtimes)
1. Trip from hotels to Sasha's.
2. Trip from Sasha's to Greek Isles, possible swing-by of Goodtimes.
3. Trip from Greek Isles to (Sasha's, hotels, Goodtimes).
4. Trip from Goodtimes to hotels.
This would be a major logistical challenge, and as you say, people want
to be free to do things on the spur of the moment.
The more we discuss this, the more I think it's important to get a good
sounding from the whole DLV group as to whether they want it or not.

Ok, everybody, in unison ... CONGRATULATIONS, TONY!!! :)

Thanks, Densie (and Tony). Just let us know which days you want the
air tours to be scheduled and we'll get it on the schedule.

Karaoke, CGT, etc.:
Michelle (NV) writes:

Ladies (gentlemen), what do you think of this? Would you like to have
Karaoke over at Sasha's during/after CLub Girl Talk, or would you
rather go over to Goodtimes?
>Im also starting a CGT night at Hamburger Marys, either on Friday night
>or Sunday, I haven't decided yet.
It looks like Friday will be taken up by our Annual Mixer and the prior
happy hour and dinner. If you do this Sunday, you may get some people
there for dinner, but afterwards we do want to have some kind of a
farewell celebration.

Please check those out. What nights does this happen on?

Yes, I'm in there. :)

Thanks, Michelle, keep those cards and letters coming. :)

This one is actually shorter. I've removed a couple sentences that were
redundant and merged some of the suggested verbiage into the original
