Org List:
This is the DLV 2003 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.
Ongoing activity database appears on line at:

Conditions of participation:
Right after DLV 2002, we agreed that we needed a black-and-white set of
understandings, or conditions which must be agreed upon to attend DLV.
Although the incidents of misunderstanding what DLV is hardly exist, and
incidents of improper behavior can be counted on one hand with fingers
left over, it was agreed that as we grow, and our audience diversifies,
this is something we need.
Here's my first draft of such text to be inserted in such things as the
web registration screen, final mailing, etc. Much of this was taken from
existing documents, the only major addition being the obvious one.

+Conditions Of Participation:
+We're extending this invitation to you to join us for the event we call
+Diva Las Vegas providing you agree to the following conditions:
+1. That when you register for Diva Las Vegas, and when you sign up for
+DLV activities (activity sign-up will occur about a month prior to DLV),
+you do so with the intent of following through, showing up, and
+participating as you indicated. We expect you to please cancel your
+registration if you find you are unable to attend the event as a whole,
+and to change/cancel your activity sign-ups if your plans change, or if
+you no longer wish to participate in the activities you indicated.
+2. That you dress and act as a lady or a gentleman (or both, at times).
+ a. That your dress and behavior be appropriate to the time, place and
+ circumstance of each activity.
+ b. That you refrain from dressing or acting in a manner intended to
+ flaunt transgenderism, or a manner which is intended to draw attention
+ to you or to the other participants.
+ c. That you refrain from illegal activities. PATENTLY ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR
+ WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, AND IF NECESSARY WILL BE REPORTED TO THE
+ APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES.
+ d. That you be polite and courteous when dealing with other DLV

+ and the general public.
+3. That you agree to attend Diva Las Vegas with the understanding that
+it is at your own risk, and that DLV organizers, volunteers, and other
+participants are not responsible if something unexpected or tragic
+occurs.

Air tours:

>I'll be in for air tours again, its just too much fun to not do it.
Ok, thanks. I've got you down.

Kinda hard to say what the late evening activities are this far out but
we can keep that in mind. This is something that can easily be multi-
tracked and does not really need to be finalized now.
See note below (?) from Densie on this.

Various suggestions:
Laura writes:
>1. Wed. night happy hour, dinner at Sasha's (or Milanos) and Club Girl

>there early enough to get some parking.
Ok, I'm gonna put that on the schedule for Wednesday then. If the
recurring happy hour does come about, we can absorb that one into the
program.
>2. Have to defend Imperial Palace. We had a group of 5 T-girls and 1 SO
>there for the 6 days and I checked with my clients about the hotel
>afterwards. No complaints except they wished there had been more DLV
>ladies there.
We should have had a total of 8-9 DLV people there this past year. I do
know that a few of the people who cancelled had planned to stay there,
and one IP regular who has been with us since day one could not make it
this year.
Checking back on the survey results, four IP people responded, only one
was dissatisfied.
>We used the back entrance/exit to access the parking and had
>absolutely no problems. Only difficulties were if we entered off the
>strip, then had to wait to make turn in and slow down going through the
>front area; we agreed that was the price we paid for using the strip.
>In pumps and heels, nobody complained about the walk to/from the car in
>the parking lot. We found the 2nd floor entrance to parking a
>convenient meeting place as we were all over the hotel. We all ate a
>la carte or buffet at the Tea House a few times and found it good, not
>fine dining, but good. Don't recall any food smells. And we really
>enjoyed the lobby bar happy hour nightly.
>3. You might want to add the steakhouse restaurant at the Riviera to
>the Transgendered Guide on the web site. We went there before the
>Marino show and we all enjoyed it. Excellent food, T-friendly place,
>reasonable prices for the high quality. Service was good, though our

>floor by the table. Head guy was fun to deal with when we made him
>guess which show we were going to.
I'll add a note about the steakhouse. I have the Riviera on the list
already, and I've avoided listing the various items in each casino-hotel
separately to keep the list manageable. Riviera has always been very
t-friendly. I even stayed there (coincidentally) the week of rodeo
finals. That was a trip! :)

+Draft report for Tranny Guide
+Most TGs want to spend an extended period of time dressed as a woman
+to have a holiday en femme. Well that’s exactly what TGs from across
+the United States as well as numerous other countries have been doing
+for six straight springs in exciting, very T-friendly Las Vegas,
+Nevada. And they’ll be vacationing en femme again in spring 2003 when
+the 7th annual Diva Las Vegas six-day celebration of the woman-within
+is staged. Over 80 TGs, SOs and a handful of admirers were on hand for
+one or more of the lengthy roster of activities and events at DLV 2002
+and the numbers are growing yearly.
+This is no convention -- never has been, never will be. Ladies come to
+DLV for the duration or a single day, even a solitary event; whatever
+fits their time and budget constraints. There’s no national, regional
+or local TG organization behind DLV. You need to register in advance
+but there’s no fee. The organizers are a bunch of volunteers from all
+over who use email to plan a great time for everyone.
+What can Tgirls expect at DLV? Going to Vegas shows dressed. Eating,
+drinking, dancing and just being “Mary” at a host of fun spots,
+including Sasha’s; Flex; Goodtimes; Gipsy; the Las Vegas Lounge;
+Milanos; Hamburger Mary’s; and buffets and restaurants and bars at
+major Las Vegas strip resort hotels. Testing lady luck at the slots
+and tables at major casinos. Shopping at trannie-oriented boutiques
+and mainstream malls.
+There is also a full roster of unique en femme activities. Here is a
+sampling of the special fun times on the schedule in 2002:
+. a three-hour tour in six limos of ritzy strip hotels and a visit to
+old downtown Las Vegas;
+. High English Tea at the elegant Four Season’s Hotel;
+. an afternoon tourist excursion to one of the many attractions
+outside Vegas;
+. air tours over Vegas and the Grand Canyon;
+. an afternoon pool party at a Vegas TG’s home;
+. a slumber party in a private suite; a golf tournament; a private
luncheon for SOs at an English pub.
+Some of these extraordinary en femme activities are repeated annually
+and some are rplaced with new and different activities to keep DLV
+fresh and ground-breaking.
+While the schedule is busy, there is plenty of open time slots for
+striking out on your own or with a small group of old and new-found
+friends. To help with spare time plans, DLV organizers have a
+comprehensive list of T-friendly eateries, shops, and clubs. To assist
+newbies, there’s a big sister operation and DLV ladies with vehicles
+volunteer to drive sisters to the many places around the city where
+events and activities are held. Unlike lots of TG events that are held
+in a single hotel or small community, turning the gathering into
+simply a larger closet, DLV attendees go and stay anywhere and
+everywhere. DLV organizers recommend a few hotels but also have a
+long list of Vegas resorts where trannies have stayed previously and
+encountered no problems. These hotels range from budget to luxury
+establishments.
+To explore DLVs of years past, go to http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/
+Be sure to check out the vast DLV 2002 photo album at
+http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2002/
+And to find out about T-friendly hotels, bars, restaurants, and
+businesses, look over the Transgendered Guide to Las Vegas at
+http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/lvthings.html
+It contains information about the TG hot spots mentioned in this
+report and is a top-notch directory to Vegas year ‘ round, not just
+during DLV.
+And to keep abreast of plans for the 7th annual DLV in spring 2003,
+join the e-mail list by dropping a note to dlv@geekbabe.com and visit
+the web site often.

Here's an idea for the pub crawl, and, it looks like our evening
schedule is starting to take shape. :) We've had a request for one
of the "artsy" shows, and I'm sure not everybody will go to that.
Pub crawl might be a good second-track option for that timeslot.

Nobody has stepped forward for this yet. Volunteers?
Looking ahead, I see a limo tour fitting either on Wednesday after the
Club Girl Talk thing, or on Thursday, following some kind of a
show-centric evening.

I really wish you would have brought this up during the discussion and
prior to the vote. One thing I've always wanted to avoid is to lock
out a longtimer. :( Had this been known, I think it would have had an
amount of significance in the votes.
If there are a significant amount of objections to the April 22-27
timeframe (I'm considering this as one) then let's entertain a motion
for a re-vote toward the end of the month. We really won't know until
the comments are in if there will be many of those.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Whatever happened to Saturday Nite:
Word on the net is that the Latinos Paradisos (nee Paradise 6) has been
renovated (need it badly, IMAO) and is now a first-run Spanish language
theater and is no longer showing RHPS.
Paradise was the last independent house of any size in LV.
It looks like, at least for the time being, that RHPS is again not being
shown in Las Vegas. More details as they become available.

Yes, this is one factor that was brought up.
Various employers have vacation policies ranging from the sensible to the
downright ridiculous and it was mentioned that some do not like people
to take off parts of two consecutive weeks.

I agree that it was rude and inconsiderate to do so. I also have to
admit there was an extenuating circumstance, the locked parking lot,
which we did not know of until it was too late to change the venue.
What I'm asking for is some advice from the group regarding what, if
anything, we should do this far out in the game. Do we continue with
the belated plan for the bitch-o-gram?

We haven't had a pre-DLV e-mail directory, but there's nothing that says
it can't be done if there is the demand.
There's always the DLV Rogues Gallery, which we will promote as well in
the months prior to DLV.
We are going to have a separate discussion list this coming year, and
people can use that to make contact with others, discuss where they are
staying, etc.
>I plan on staying at the Tropicana or the San Remo and I am looking

Most likely the limo tour will start at a different location this coming
year. It will probably follow some other activity, and unless that one
is at the MGM, the limo tour will not begin there.
>The pool at the Tropicana was mentioned as a possible spot for a get
>together and sounds like an ideal place for a pre evening or post

This is a possible spot, yes. Question, does this have shaded (and
relatively cool) areas or is it out in the sunlight? I would hate to
have the first activity of each evening overheat everybody, especially
those who have on multiple layers, due to necessity or desire.
