The layout of that theater is poor, period!

IIRC, there were a few open seats, but to the left of us. Also, iirc,
Monique was told to not worry about the count of tickets, but when she
showed up, they were tight.

Probably depends on which shows we go to, the size of the theaters, the
day of the week, and the phase of the moon.

I'm sure something like that can be arranged, assuming the person who
volunteers to coordinate the show(s) want to do it.

I know I already volunteered to coordinate the Showgirls Of Magic show,
and I'm sure we can work something out with Tiny and the staff to allow
convenient payment. Since it's maitre'd seating, I don't see any problem
if the people pay separately.

They tell me (the ubiquitous "they") that one reason the casinos have
gone to reserved seating was due to a lot of bitching about the racket
the showroom staff had on the selection of seats. I admit I used to
bitch about it too, but that was before I ever tried to get a medium to
large group seated together while paying separately. Yes, the old
corrupt system does have advantages.

For the other show(s), who knows. If we do one of the newer artsy shows
like BMG or "O", they both assign seats with a faceless computer, so you
do have to pay together to sit together. Maybe, as you say, two blocks
can be purchased, but they will certainly be disjoint.

New DLV Activities

Personally, there is no way I'm gonna jump out of a plane, planes scare
the $#!+ out of me, and the thought of jumping out of one gives me the
creepies! However (comma) I would support it as a DLV activity because
it's a very non-stereotypical-t* thing, and because some of our people
just may want to do it.

Golf is not my thing either. However, it's turned into what's one of our
most successful repeat activities. This is a Very Good Thing<tm> and it's
certainly not one that's stereotypically t*.

Bowling has been suggested. That I would probably go for. :)

>Retro night. Gee, I thought that's the way I already dressed. :-)

I forget if you were in the group over at Flex when this was suggested,
but I jokingly asked if my shades would qualify, and then somebody made
the comment that some of the people there would also qualify dressed as
they were. <vbfg>

Do pink tennies count? :)

I've seen BMG and Mystere, and loved both. I can assure you that for
BMG most every seat is good. We were 3/4 of the way up and off to the
left, and the view was just fine. The angle of the off-center seats
for BMG is not nearly that of the LaFemme seats.

For Mystere, the seats form a U around the stage and just about anything
would be a good view. I dunno about "O" though.

That may be something that would work. Would not take that much effort
to plan, somebody would just have to pick a convenient place and time.

I know the coffee shop at Sahara ended up being a default very early
breakfast place almost every night.

I think more things like the Boardwalk reception might be a good thing.

I think we need to consider transition time between any two activities,
but in addition allow for a slack late afternoon period to freshen up.

Yes, I agree. Individual choice should be respected. (I guess that's why
I prefer a buffet to a rubber chicken banquet. :)

Whether it's economic, sentimental, or just plain personal preference,
I think we need to keep the options open for our people.

The only real calling I've heard this year WRT accommodations is to have
a more upscale suggestion for those who want it.

>Also earlier in April ie:- cooler sounds to me like a good time to do

Ok {mark} another check in the earlier column. :)

I agree. Not an option for the vast majority of our people. I think the
idea of a smaller shuttle van as Mindy has suggested may have some
merit. This, of course, would not be shared with the general public.

Retro:

>I guess I missed the first part of this conversation on Retro Night.

This may have been brought up before you joined the list.

This was one of several suggestions. It was suggested to me by {mumble}
one night at Flex.

>We are dressing up for which era, 40's, 50's, 60's or ?

Any and all, I assume. :)

>BTW I think its a great idea. I'm looking into outfits already.........

This is something that doesn't really need too much work to do. It could
be done almost anywhere we usually have our gatherings, and yes, it
would provide more of that valued social time. The retro theme was
suggested kind of the same way Go Blonde Night was, meaning optional but
encouraged.
