Ok, {mark} one vote for the later timeframe. :)

>or not?
Yes, we (DLVORG group) are the ones who decide what is a go or not. Most
critical factor has turned out to be somebody (one of us) to adopt that
particular activity and make it happen.
Throughout history, most everything that has been seriously proposed
and adopted by one or more people has been given the green light by
this group.
>I noticed we don't have a lot of early morning activities ...
Very true. DLV people tend to stay up late and rise late. We have had a
few special-interest morning things planned (air tours, golf) but
general-interest things don't seem to get proposed or adopted. We had a
regular group breakfast on the proposed list last year, but it never
happened.
However, that doesn't stop anybody from planning them.

Ok, I'll get this on the proposed list.
In the past, for activities where we want to share rides we meet
somewhere reasonably convenient, take some vehicles and park the others.
I've always used the rear surface lot at the Sahara for this since it's
easy to find and they don't seem to gripe if we use it.
Not exactly inconspicuous, but it will not attract any attention to
speak of.

>Please run this by the DLV org and see what they think.
Comments, ladies?
>I would be willing to use my rental car for one of the modes of
>transport if this becomes adopted.
I'm sure I and the others who have vehicles will be willing to do so
as well.
>I have no idea how to organize something like this over the net but
>would be willing to help someone who can.
You just did it. You suggested it and gave enough detail so it can be
put on the proposed activity list with many of the blanks filled in,
such as where (Primm), approximately when (some morning), how (shared
vehicles, meet somewhere), etc. That's really all the organizing that
has to be done.
This is a very good example of something that does take some planning,
but does not take a great degree of hoop-jumping to make happen.
It's now been run up the flagpole, and it's up to us, collectively,
to either salute it or flip it the bird. Personally, I would salute
it with one suggestion, the time. Taking a trip to the real world,
you will get a much better turnout for this departing in the late
morning, no earlier than 10:30 or so. That's about the earliest we
can expect somebody who rises 8-ish to be ready to depart. Late
breakfast or brunch could be done, as you said, at Primm Valley.
So, thanks for the suggestion, Kate. Keep them coming, gang! :)

I see Palace Station being the one we suggest to those on a tight
budget, since it is usually the bottom-dollar decent near-Strip
facility. Hopefully they will be done with the mess by I-15 by DLV next
year, but yes, a warning might be in order.

Luxor has been suggested as another possibility.
While I see the advantage of concentrating our people in a general
vicinity on the Strip, I question a few of the properties on that corner
as being ones we should suggest. While Tropicana and San Remo attract
mostly grownups, such places as MGM, NYNY, Excalibur, Luxor (still) have
a large family audience, and there is that perception that the family
places are not the most t-friendly. They will have more kids than Sahara
or IP. Looking at our comfort ratings, MGM was well toward the bottom.
Although we have about 4 months left to discuss the hotel situation, it
may very well come down to a vote regarding how many places, which
places, what scale, etc., since it looks like we have many opinions on
these various items.

I agree. I don't think public transit is an option we should promote for
our people. It might be ok for the average Joe Tourist, but not for the
average DLV person. I think ride-sharing and an occasional taxi are the
best options for people without their own vehicles.

I agree with (Tina?) that it should be a separate opt-in process from
the process already used for the web followup pages.

Thanks. Nice pics. Loved the ones of the lights. Nice eyecandy in there
too. Too bad most all of the crowd appears about 20 years younger than I
am. Looks like mostly twentyboppers in there.

We discussed these prior to last year, both here and on the main list.
There's one right behind the Stardust, and another on Paradise Road not
too far from the Sahara.
>I personally like the idea of the casino/hotel for my DLV experience
>but if you think this would fly please suggest it on the ORG pages.
I kinda prefer the casino-hotel for LV too. I like having the casino
there, as I sometimes do play before crashing, and I do like the
convenience of the coffee shop and buffet there in the morning.
Our corporate travel office likes to use this type of place, and I've
stayed in them in other cities and liked them. They seem to gouge less
for such things as phone calls and soda and such.
