Org List:
This is the DLV 2018 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg_at_divalas.vegas)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Zeroing in:
This mailing is quite a bit shorter than recent ones, mainly because
we're getting caught up and things are falling into place nicely.
Upcoming red-letter dates are March 18 and March 25! Please see the
discussion below.
Everything received by Tuesday evening should be included. If you sent
in anything to ORG and don't see at least a reference to it here, please
scream loudly.
Some of the latest (as of last week) timing changes to the schedule did
not appear properly in the schedule sent out in last week's ORG mailing.
All changes should now appear in the working schedule below.
Again, please look over the schedule, in particular, checking to be sure
all recent additions and changes, including last week's have been
properly made.
Thanks again to all for making things run smoothly this year!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Laundry list:
Very short this time. Thanks to those who helped clear items. Mostly
just a couple of easy ones for someone who wants a quick and easy ticket
to voting status.
. . . . .
Delaney? Any movement on the Axe-Throwing thing?
. . . . .
Bobbie? Any news on the TG Pride Prom for Friday?
. . . . .
All, we're again in need of a host(ess) for Lunch With on Friday.
. . . . .
All, we're in need for a host(ess) for Late Night Dancing on Tuesday.

Scheduling and timing:
Annie writes:
We have passed the six week mark!
Most of the major things appear to be solid. Most of the timeslots are
being filled nicely. The places that need some attention are discussed
below.
Off-line, there are a couple of things being discussed, mostly daytime
things which would be nice to have but are not deal-breakers if they do
not, such as a pool (swimming, not billiards) party and an axe throwing
session.
If anyone has any other items, or other activities they wish to plan,
now is the time to speak up. The door is closing! :)
. . . . .
First, the timing.
We would like to roll out Activity Sign-Up to the masses beginning the
week beginning March 25.
Please consider that date to be a drop-dead HARD-STOP CUTOFF! It will be
announced in this weekend's general mailing.
Please make a mental note of that date, because after that date, any
activities which are added or substantially changed will need to be no
sign-up just show up in nature.
To give us adequate time to test things out and work out the kinks, we
would like to have things solid enough to begin testing Activity Sign-Up
with the ORG group, including YOU, one week before, or Sunday, March 18.
Let's consider that date, March 18, to be a soft cut-off.
In the mailing next week, we'll do a final go-over of all details and
call for any items which are missing, unclear, or in any way holding
up the test run of Activity Sign-Up on the 18th.
. . . . . . . . . .
There are two evenings which still have some needs for meaningful items
to round them up. We can probably get by with things the way they are by
adding a few catch-all items such as "Explore The Linq" and such, but it
would be nice to fill these out with some fun things to do.
Friday evening:
Still blank after dinner, and quite honestly I don't blame anyone for
not wanting to plan things for a waning crowd. If the TG Pride Prom
should happen, it would be a nice addition and probably attract quite a
few of our people.
If we have to, we'll need to fill it in with some general catch-all
items, all of a no sign-up just show up basis.
. . . . .
Wednesday, April 18:
8:30pm: DLV Treasure Hunt (Begin at Flamingo) - ms
The Treasure Hunt will not attract everyone, even though we can probably
expand it to include quite a few.
One other item opposite the Treasure Hunt, does not have to be fancy,
would round things out!
That's about it, really. :)

EHM on Tuesday:
Sherry writes:
Please add the EHM to the official DLV schedule. On Tues. nite from 9 to
midnite.
I am also arranging a discussion group with Dr. V. Time of that has been
set. Any suggestions? Maybe around 11 PM?
They cannot serve booze. But, recommended an outside vendor who can come
in. But, they require a signed agreement and a $12 to $14 guarantee "per
person". I'm a bit leery of that!
Maybe by 9:00 folks can have already eaten and had their drinks? Or,
they could bring their own?
Suggestions appreciated! I'm new at this.
See u all at DLV, Sherry
. . . . . . . . . .
Annie responds:
Thanks Sherry! This sounds super! It rounds out Tuesday very nicely. You
are doing great!
Let me respond with a few questions and some remarks on your items.
Anyone else is free to chime in here as well.
First of all, what do you want to call this. The "EHM Social and Tour
with Dr. Victoria" which now appears on the schedule is what I thought
of as I was entering it into the scheduling screen. You can title it
most anything you want.
Next, what will the admission charge be? We'll need this for the
Activity Sign-Up screen.
. . . . .
Here are my thoughts about adult beverages. Others please feel free to
share your opinions and suggestions.
First of all, the availability of adult beverages will most definitely
keep people there and keep them happy while they are there. I really
think that much of the earlier-than-expected departure last year at EHM
was at least partly due to the lack of convenient adult beverages.
If I were doing this (which I'm not) :) I would consider a minimum of
$12-$14 per person present, assuming no other strings attached, to be a
very easy nut to crack. That's basically 2-3 bar drinks per person on
average. Over three hours, those who drink tend to consume three or
more.
Our surveys over the last few years consistently show that 85-90% of our
people are at least social drinkers. The 10-15% who do not do adult
beverages will most likely do 1-2 sodas, which adds to the total.
A line that I've been known to use when speaking to potential DLV (and
Pinkfest) vendors is "You will do a dynamite bar business!" and I've
never been proven wrong on that one. :)
However, it's your call. I would just be careful of any other "gotchas"
in there before signing.
If you don't want to sign on the dotted line (and I really can't blame
you if you do not) I see a couple other options, and everyone else is
welcome to pipe up as well.
The most obvious is the gentlemens club next door. Easy walk across the
parking lot.
However (comma) it was obvious to me last year that at least some of our
people were a bit too shy to go over there. Upon finding no bar last
year, I walked over, told the goon at the door that I was over at EHM
and wanted to do a take out. He just waved me in with no cover and no ID
check. I got the impression that they do that often.
A couple of times that night some DLVers asked me where I got the beer
and I said just walk across the lot, tell them you are at EHM and such
and they gave fairly obvious vibes that they were not comfortable doing
that. If somehow a drink-runner could be arranged, I think it would help
out very much.
Another idea would be to see if they would allow our group to bring in
things like some jug wine and/or a few cases of beer in a disposable
cooler.
Maybe BYO would work, with some mixers available?
Other ideas, anyone. Think outside the box here! :)
. . . . .
IMAO, 11:00pm is probably the best for a Dr. Vic. session. Remember that
the close of the Dr. Vic. session has, historically, been the big
discontinuity of the evening at which the bulk of the people depart. You
could start it earlier, say 10:30, if you wanted, keeping in mind that
the whole thing would turn into a pumpkin at 11:30, assuming a 1 hour
session.
You could also read the audience and start the Dr. Vic. session if you
noticed the crowd getting antsy and looking like it was getting ready to
scatter to the winds.
Anyway, thanks again for arranging this! You have my comments, anyone
else have anything to add?

Activity Highlights:
Annie writes:
Since we're approaching the one-month mark, we would like to pick up the
pace of the Activity Highlights.
Activities that we've featured so far are Big Lift Bar Crawl, Golf,
Katies Koffee Korner, Exotics Racing and Monday night at Bahama Breeze.
Those that would be very nice to have include:
Bare Minerals Makeup (planned for this weekend's mailing)
Afternoon Social(s) (Carnaval Court)
Burlesque Revue
Lunch with Wendy and Michelle
Art Tour
DLV Tennis Tournament
Social at Transcending
Kiss Monster Mini-Golf
DLV Treasure Hunt
Pistol and Rifle Shooting
Topgolf
Farewell Dinner
Limousine Tour
LOVE Behind the Scenes tour
If you're involved with any of the above, please feel free to write one
and submit it. If not, I'll be picking 1-2 per week and writing them as
best I can, so if you don't want your Activity Highlight to be written
in the style of World According To Ms. R., please write! :)

Coordinator photos:
Annie writes:
Since 2014 we've included Coordinator photos on the final versions of
our schedule for the purpose of letting participants know who to look
for when they attend our activities.
For this year we would like to include photos of as many Coordinators
as possible.
This is strictly optional, however, and your choice.
. . . . .
We currently DO have photos for the following who are coordinating
activities for DLV 2018:
Aejaie, Annie, Delaney, Dionne, Gina, Ginger, Katie, Marisa, Randi,
Sarah
The existing photos will be used this year unless you supply an updated
photo or specifically tell us to delete them.
. . . . .
We DO NOT have current photos for the following:
Bobbie, Cami, Cassandra, JoAnn, Laura, Marilyn, Megan, Michelle, Robin,
Sandy, Stacy
. . . . .
The photos should have a clear recognizable face view of you. Don't
worry about size. I will edit to fit. You can file attach to a reply to
this mailing, just say to use your MyDLV avatar photo, or send in the
URL to a photo of you on the web somewhere.

Wednesday and Sunday dinners:
Michelle (NZ) writes:
> Michelle? Any decision on the venue for your Wednesday dinner?
Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab
3500 Las Vegas Blvd South
Las Vegas, NV 89109-8949
United States
At: The Forum Shops at Caesars, Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino
Will need sign up for numbers.
. . . . .
Annie responds:
Thanks Michelle! It's all set.
Sign-up requested.
This will make a very good balance with the other two options that
evening.
. . . . .
Michelle continues:
I'm happy to hostess a dinner on Sunday evening as well. Not sure where
for that one but it will need sign up.
Maybe one of these:
- Grotto downtown (we went there in the past as I recall)
- Mortons Steak House
- The Steak House at Circus Circus (traditional steak house)
- Chart House (down town) (Steak, seafood)
. . . . .
Annie continues:
The other two options for Sunday evening are more casual and on the
inexpensive end of the scale, so if you want to do a higher end thing at
something like Morton's or the Steak House at Circus, that would balance
things very nicely.
Just let us know what you decide in the next week or so please.
And, those listening in, don't laugh at the Circus**2 suggestion! The
steakhouse there is superb!

Sephora details:
Lori writes:
I have reached out to Shepora to see if they can do Monday and Tuesday
at 11. They provide their own online sign up so once I get the details I
will let you know.
I would gladly take Tuesday night but if something happens and i don't
make the event I would feel bad.
. . . . . . . . . .
Thanks Lori.
Please keep us informed as to the Sephora.
Even though they do their own sign-up, we should probably put an entry
onto our sign-up screen with "additional action required" as our people
have a tendency to miss such required hoop-jumps.
I'm assuming you're referring to the dancing on Tuesday. It would be
best if we have a definite on this one, but we do not have to know as of
this time as that one needs little formality. Just keep us in the loop.
