6.5 weeks out:

We're closing in on the six-week mark and things are actually looking
good, other than one very specific need. Thanks to all for making this
happen!

We're also closing in on the two-week mark for the test roll-out of
Activity Sign-Up. This means that we need to have all activities that
need a sign-up or a headcount solid in about 2 1/2 weeks.

It's trivially easy to add new ones prior to rolling out Activity
Sign-Up but close to impossible after. History has shown that our people
will not return to an activity sign-up screen to include a recently
announced new activity.

This mailing is shorter than some of the recent ones, and this is good
because most of our major items are now in place.

We do have one specific need listed below. Please consider it!

Everything received by Tuesday evening should have at least a reference
in here. Those who sent brief confirmations or corrections to the
activity counts and sign-up types should have received a "done" or "got
it" note in response. If you sent in a correction and did not get one,
please send in a reminder.

We do need to keep an eye out for any "black hole" emails as our date
approaches.

For those of you who read further down in the test attendee's activity
sign-up screen, yes, at the time of last week's mailing the screen had
not been regenerated for about two weeks prior. Many details were
missing and in particular, Friday evening had not been added.

Please feel free, if you like, to help QA the activity sign-up screen
using that test URL. Just remember that it's not gonna work for you
personally, and the test attendee's selections are cleared periodically.

All, we're again in need of a host(ess) for Lunch With on Friday. This
is one of the easiest! Easy ticket to voting status. For a minimalist
approach, just name a place and agree to be there and welcome the
others.

A gift to our program:

We're bringing the ORG group into the loop regarding something that has
been going on behind the scenes for a few weeks.

Here's what's happening.

Vivian will be very graciously donating a banner/backdrop and the
associated hardware to our program, similar to what is shown in the
illustration at the URL below.

Vivian describes it as:

 "It will be like the red carpet area at award shows, where
 pictures can be taken. DLVers can take pictures against it
 and we can have Laura or me take pictures as people walk in.
 It'll make them feel like a celebrity. We can use it for
 multiple years."

Delaney will also be donating some additional items to the project.

The actual item may look somewhat different from the illustration, but
you can get an idea of how it will look from the link above.

There will also be a runner, not shown, extending forward from the
carpet on the floor. The main section will be 8 feet square.

The original idea was to use this at Bahama Breeze on Monday (Delaney is
in charge) as a background for individual and small group photos, as
well as an attractive addition to the setting and a conversation piece.
We're also planning to use it in a similar manner at our final major
gathering at OTS on Thursday evening.

One item of need:

The Jennifer Lopez concert, originally planned for Tuesday evening of
DLV week, has been scrubbed from the schedule. It was deemed to be too
difficult to coordinate, getting seats together, etc.

Here is what our Tuesday evening schedule now looks like:

+6:00pm: Carmine's option (Carmine's Caesars) - ms
+6:00pm: Giordano option (Giordanos Bally's) - ms

+9:00pm: Big Lift Bar Crawl (Begin at Flamingo) - ms
+10:30pm: Late Nite Dancing and Socializing (Paris Cabaret Lounge) - ms

As you will see, we have a good selection of dining options, but only
one after-dinner activity option.

This one (Big Lift) will not accommodate everyone, plus, not everybody
will want to go barhopping.

This leaves the Tuesday after-dinner timeslot as a very specific weak
spot in our schedule.

We need some ideas on how to fill this one in, and more importantly,
some volunteers to make it happen. There are many possibilities, in the
vicinity of the Four Corners, where all of the dining options will be
happening, or elsewhere.

Sephora would be 45 mins and a group lesson free of charge. If I did it
it would be Monday and Tuesday only.

Not really a duplicate. Different product line and such. I think there's
room for both, even others.

That lesson sounds great, it's definitely different than BM. BM will be
doing individual sessions.

Let's set the DLV schedule time to 12:30 and note this on the sign-up
screen and in the notes, taking into account our peoples' propensity to
be "fashionably late" to activities.

We still don't have an official host(ess) for Friday Lunch With. If you
(or somebody else) want to do it at Mirage, please do so and pick a time
and place. If I get stuck host(ess)ing it, it will probably be at the
Flamingo Buffet.

Thanks for the details.

The capacity is now set at 60, which should be enough so they will not
see a "FUll" notice.

The details on the schedule don't really state which room. It will
say "designated seating area" or something like that, and the desk at
tbe BB can steer our people to the correct location.

Please check the working schedule to be sure that the time and the
terminology are correct.

The Sunday evening burlesque show is at the Velveteen Rabbit at 1218 S.
Main (a block and a half from the Cornish Pasty). The show begins at 7pm
till about 8:30, so we should be there about 6:30 to get a good seat.

Tickets are $15 at the door or online.

We should meet at Cornish Pasty about 5pm and have the happy hour along
with dining so we can get to the show on time.
