Good news and bad news:

We are now seven weeks out. We've made a lot of progress over the past
few weeks but we do need to fill in some weak spots and make up for some
lost volunteer capacity.

Again, changes have been made to the schedule so please look it over as
we want to publish a version of it in our general mailing this weekend.

The bad news this week is that Cami will not be able to be with us this
year. This, unfortunately, puts both (real) golf and Topgolf in
jeopardy.

Golfers: If golf is to happen this year, someone is going to have to
step forward to take it. If not, we'll have to remove it from the
schedule. Ditto with Topgolf.

Other than that, all of the major items are falling in place nicely and,
other than golf of course, our biggest needs are for smaller fill-in
items.

I am thinking maybe Margaretville we did a Sunday dinner there last
year. Maybe offer a Comedy Club option at Harrah's after.

Very accommodating staff good food and prices are reasonable.

Margarettaville was good last year with a nice turnout. Also 3 of us did
Harrah's Comedy Club last year and had a lot of fun. Good choices both.

We now have 4 Tennis courts reserved for a DLV group at Bally's Tennis
Center, located directly behind the Paris parking garage for Wednesday,
March 29th from 10am to 1pm.
 
The court rental charge is FREE! However, you will be responsible for
bringing a Tennis racquet or you can choose to rent a racquet from the
Bally's Tennis Pro shop for $15 to $20, depending on the racquet
requested. Tennis balls will be provided. Cute Tennis skirts or dresses
are encouraged and rubber soled Tennis shoes are highly suggested for
footwear.
 
Depending on turn out, we will either play in a tournament style bracket
format or round robin format.

Mini golf... Kiss miniature golf has been kicked around for several
years. This could be a daytime activity or evening before or after
dinner. Your thoughts?

Escape Room.. a new rage sweeping the country. Your group is locked in a
room and have one hour to solve the riddle following clues to escape.
Can you do it or will you 'die'? Has anyone done one of these? Your
feedback is requested. Daytime or nighttime?

Take a hike. We've done one in Red Rock Canyon. I'm sure there are many
more places to explore. This is a great morning activity for those
willing to get up before noon. Let us know if this is for you.

How about a ride on the New York, New York roller coaster before someone
decides to shut it down.

I mentioned before someone tries to shut it down only because that's the
fate of some casino roller coasters.

I think we shuld do it again and have some person who's too scared to
ride to take photos.

There's that outdoor go-car race track if it's still in operation for
the less daring of us who don't wish to drive a real race car.

A few comments and timeslot suggestions.

Yes, an Audrey Tour could be scheduled so it joins the group at Trevi if
things are timed right. And yes, photo ops abound! :)

I don't know if the Kiss miniature golf has actually been put in place
or not. Has it? If it's going, yes, it would be a great daytime activity
for any of the vacant timeslots above.

Escape Room sounds like fun. Again, it would work well in most any of
the daytime slots. I assume it's all indoor, so it really doesn't matter
if it's day or night.

Cami was talking about Red Rock hiking, but if it's to happen we'll need
someone else to sponsor it.

We've done the NYNY roller coaster a few times before, but as Vera
mentioned, nothing really in the way of photos exists. We did get a hint
on a vantage point for photos, so all it takes is for someone to agree to
sponsor it (and, LOL, someone to photograph it) for it to happen.

I have not heard anything about the go-cart track for some time. I do
not know if it's still operating or not.

Thanks Stacy.

As to scheduling for something like this, it's probably a question of
elimination. I'm assuming this will be an afternoon activity and that it
will run a bit longer than most other daytime things.

For that reason I would avoid Monday and Thursday, as those will be big
dress-up evenings for many of our people and they will want time to get
ready without being rushed.

Tuesday and Wednesday are not as bad, but both do have strong "anchor"
evening activities where quite a few people will want to dress up for
and require some time.

Sunday is an arrival day, so that leaves Friday as the best obvious
choice, although Tuesday or Wednesday would probably work as well.
