Things are taking shape:

Thanks to those who have recently taken the effort to plan things! We
again have a number of additions and changes on the schedule so please
take a few minutes to check the working schedule below and scream if
anything does not look right.

We want to start publishing our working schedules in the general
mailings within the next couple of weeks.

The big news this week is that EHM is confirmed for Tuesday. Our only
truly weak spot is Friday and that is starting to take shape. We will do
another in-depth schedule review next week.

Laundry List:

Very short this week but we do have some definite needs and we do need
some responses on a couple of things, please, if they are to happen.

We still have a few sessions of the daily recurring activities which
will need a host(ess) if they are to happen. These are the easy ones
and will be an easy path to voting status just for coordinating one.

Lunch With(out) Ginger needs hosts or hostesses for Sunday, Tuesday, and
Friday. This can be renamed Lunch With {YOU} if you like.

Three sessions of Late Night Dancing will need a host(ess). Three nights
are spoken for but the exact evenings are not in stone. All evenings can
be said to be available. Your choice! Your choice of venue too.

No grunt work required. For a minimalist approach to LWG, all you need
to do is name a place and be there. Late Night Dancing is even easier!

U-Drive Exotic Car Racing: Zoe? (Cami? Stacy?) Will this or something
similar be repeated this year?

Mainstream Clubbing: Valorie? Any plans for similar clubbing activities
this year?

Activity Highlights:

We posted our first Activity Highlight of the year (KKKK) in the
discussion forum last week. We're ready to continue posting these from
now until DLV and we'd like to have at least one every week or so.

If you're in charge of an activity, please feel free to post one. If you
would rather just send one in and let us post it for you, please just
send it in response to any of these mailings.

As we did last year, we'll use a separate space on the message board to
keep the Activity Highlights and move each one into that area when they
have appeared as a "sticky" on the front page for about a week or so.

EHM confirmation:

Our EHM night is booked for Tuesday March 28 at 8pm per Cassandra at
EHM! EHM is currently running a half off admission special that may
extend through March as well where admission per person would be $15,
or $10 with Military ID or over 55 ID.

The only information we are waiting for is whether Dr. Victoria will be
leading our tour or if another employee of the museum will be leading
us.

Have you and Sherry thought any about themes and possible entertainment
and the like?

It would also be great if the temporary bar could be arranged like last

DLV Tennis Anyone:

I know it's getting late to suggest an additional event, but how about
a possible Tennis event for DLV '17?

I have spoken to the head Tennis pro at Bally's Tennis center, located
directly behind the Paris parking garage. They have 4 Tennis Courts
available that could be used for a small tournament or "round robin"
for a DLV group, depending on interest.

I have experience setting up Tennis Tournament brackets as well as
round robin formats which is a fun way for a group to play one another
quicker and without having to play full, extended Tennis matches. I
think the whole event could take place in 2 to 3 hours maximum.

A perfect time of day would be 10am for us to use the courts if there is
a day in the week that may work. Courts are rented at an hourly rate,
which I can talk to the Pro about working us a great deal where the
court rental cost could be minimal if not free.

The Tennis center does rent Tennis Racquets for $15, or $20 depending on
the racquet requested, and Tennis Balls can be purchased at the pro shop
as well. This is an idea I've had for a few years for DLV and I'm sorry
it took me so long to get on the "ball" Get it? Geez.

Ok, I'll wait to hear what everyone thinks.

Thanks Stacy. This sounds super.

We've talked about doing tennis off and on over the years but it just
never happened.

I might suggest Wednesday as the best day for this, as it's the one in
the middle of the event which has the fewest conflicts. Tuesday and
Thursday would be workable, however. I would suggest avoiding Sunday and
Monday as those will be arrival days and Friday will be a departure day
for a number of our people.

Please let us know how you want to move forward with this.

We have you down for one dining option on Friday. I will volunteer to
host(ess) one as well so that makes two. You can decide where you want
to have this any time prior to activity sign-up, which will begin in
early March.
