Getting an early start:

Thanks to all who responded and volunteered to help make our 2017 event
all it can be!

The good news this week is that, if the pieces do indeed fall into place
the way they appear to be, we'll have most of the "heavy lifting" of the
two major maximum-attendance gatherings taken care of.

We wish to thank Dionne and Marisa for their efforts to make these
activities happen!

One item of bad news this week is that we had a confirmed technical
issue with email to the main DLV address over the last several months.
Due to a configuration error, about 1/3 of the email addressed to the
dlv_at_divalas.vegas and dlv_at_geekbabe.com between roughly April 18 and
September 24 was bit-bucketed and is not recoverable. :( The "ORG" and
discussion forum addresses do not appear to be affected.

If you sent in anything and felt like it went into a black hole, please
accept our apology and resend.

Confirming activities:

We apologize for starting our "Nag List" this early in the process, but
because our volunteer capacity appears to be a bit lower this year, we
will need to be more hands-on and assertive regarding volunteer
commitments for the coming 2017 event.

Thanks to all who have already responded! :)

All: There are some openings available. In particular the dance lessons
and the EHM activity will need new people to take the lead. See items
below.

If your "name is called" here, please let us know one way or the other,
as to if you are willing and able to host(ess) a similar activity for
the 2017 event.

Those whose names are not called are also welcome to volunteer to
coordinate or to assist any of these.

Off The Strip and EHM:

I'll see if I can get as good of deal at Off Strip Bistro again on
Thursday or Friday up or down stairs.

I have some ideas for new evening activities and probably will bring
back some kind of "Audrey" event like we did at the wax museum several
years ago, but I would like someone else to take the EHM. It either
needs new fresh ideas or just have the tour/discussion and schedule
other activity options the same evening/day.

It will be pretty much your call whether we do the OTS gathering on
Thursday or Friday, guided by terms and availability, of course.

Linda and Sherry: You have "next refusal" rights to take on some kind of
EHM activity. Please let us know what your thoughts are.
