Where we stand and where things are going:

First of all, thanks to all who responded to help us assess where we
stand as far as volunteer capacity is concerned. Volunteer commitment is
our most critical need this year. As we know, Bev, one of our most
active volunteers, will not be with us, at least in a volunteer capacity
that is, and we've learned that another of our most active volunteers
may have a potentially serious family health issue that may preclude her
from participating this year.

This means that it's critical for us to assess and confirm volunteer
commitment level early in the process.

There are, unfortunately, some of you who have not responded in any way
to the calls to confirm your volunteer status. If this applies to you
(you know who you are, and we do too) :) please let us know where things
stand with you ASAP.

We'll be moving up our suggested hotel selection process this year,
mainly due to the fact that Cami is already in touch with the folks at
the Flamingo regarding special rates. See below.

Our dates are final. March 26-31, 2017.

Again this year, having our timeframe earlier in the year has its good
and bad points. The good news is that our event happens sooner! :) The
bad news is that we will again have to move various milestones and
checkpoints earlier in the calendar year and we'll have a bit less
"quality planning time" between the holidays and our event.

Next week we'll do a detailed "dump" centered around the comments and
suggestions received in the survey and we'll open some conversations
about some of the suggestions and raised talking points.

Hotels for DLV 2017:

Annie writes:

It's very early in the process, but unless things go terribly awry, we
will again have special rates at the Flamingo, comparable to those we've
seen in the two previous years.

Last year our suggested hotels were Flamingo, Paris, and Four Queens.

I would like to propose, pending on Cami's negotiations, of course, that
we simply go with the same slate of suggested hotels for DLV 2017.
"Ain't broke, don't fix it!" :)

Much shorter this week, but still some outstanding responses. Please let
us know either way on these. If you're not interested in doing any of
these, you don't have to explain anything, but please let us know.

If your "name is called" here, please let us know one way or the other,
as to if you are willing and able to host(ess) a similar activity for
the 2017 event.

Those whose names are not called are also welcome to volunteer to
coordinate or to assist any of these.

Bellagio gallery will be showing but I'll update as soon as I know.

I will B running a few events for sure that I could throw out there now.

One will be an evening at Topgolf. If things get tight we
could always do Top Golf during an afternoon.

Another will be a daytime trip to Red Rocks. 1/3 will be a show and
dinner one night.

I am not sure yet about when they (Moderator's note, assume Creative
Wigs) coming again although I do have someone else interested in perhaps
giving some makeup lessons.

I would also be happy to help with the final evening celebration under
Marissa as I did last year. I am pretty sure that Stacy and possibly Zoe
would run the racing event again . Let me know if any of those are
problems.
