Summary of options:

This is a mid-cycle Celebration-only mailing.

We need to move forward with our planning here.

Big thanks go out to those who have made contact with the venues and
reported our options to us. :)

Let's review, and continue to discuss, of course, our options for our
Celebration.

As of this time the following appear to either be strong possibilities
or "in the running" as favorites:

Yardhouse
Off Strip Bistro
Brooklyn Bowl
. . . . .

These next venues do have contact established but do not appear to be
favorites in consideration:

Hofbrauhaus
Bahama Breeze
. . . . .

Next on the list are those which have been mentioned but for which no
current contact has been established:

Border Grill
Tilted Kilt
Chayo
Peppermill
. . . . .

These last venues have been "back burnered" at least for the time being:

Rio
Buca di Beppo
Hard Rock Casino

Here are some general and specific comments on the venues and the
plans that we've discussed.

Sorry about my tardiness with this mailing. I have been dealing with a
cancelled air flight, an antsy travel partner, and a return to the area
during what the Talking Heads consider to be a re-run of the Great
Blizzard of 1888!

First, the venues. I'm not commenting on all of them, mainly those
which I do or do not think are possibilities.
. . . . . . . . . . .

Yardhouse

This appears to be the favorite as of this time. We do need to clarify
the options for the bar-only attendees and be sure we're all in sync
regarding estimates of paying customers we'll be supplying, both dining
and bar-only.
. . . . .

Off Strip Bistro

Clarified below as the "On the Strip Off The Strip Bistro", I think this
is VERY promising if I'm reading the details correctly.

Non-dining customers welcome. $1000 minimum, an easy nut to crack! $500
up front, reasonable IMAO. We do have (at least) two who have pledged
the up-front $$$$$ if needed. Payment may be somewhat awkward but I'm
sure we can work something out.
. . . . .

Brooklyn Bowl

IMAO, this would be very good for a "Cocktail only" large gathering,
assuming they want the bar business, along with a smaller dining group
just prior. Other dining venues in the area could be used as well for a
pre-gathering meal.
. . . . .

Hofbrauhaus

IMAO, we're just too far apart on this one!

Trying to have a major gathering with no options for those who wish to
drink and socialize only is a recipe for disaster!
. . . . .

Bahama Breeze

If we get in the bind, using BB as a cocktail-only Celebration
gathering, with optional dining, of course, for those who want it, would
probably work, but I think there are multiple more appropriate options.
. . . . .

Border Grill

Big disadvantage is that they're not that conveniently located, but
neither were several of our most successful major gathering venues
that we've used in the past.

If they are indeed willing to stick to the conditions they gave to
Delaney last year, it may be a possibility.
. . . . .

Tilted Kilt
Chayo

Two other distant possibilities assuming none of the others in the Linq
area pan out.
. . . . .

Peppermill

I have not been there for several years, but I question if they could
handle a group of our size. In any case, to be considered, somebody will
need to make contact.
. . . . . . . . . .

Now for the plans.

Yardhouse seems to be the favorite, but we do need to have Cami clarify
exactly what the current/latest terms are, particularly meal options and
provisions for those not buying a meal.

Knowing how our people behave, the more dining options, the more meals
sold by far and any mention of any kind of a minimum will be a turn-off
that significantly reduces the turnout. A fee at the door or a payment
in advance would totally kill the turnout. That's just the way our
people tend to behave.
. . . . .

Assuming the terms are accurate, the on-the-Strip Off The Strip Bistro
looks very promising. $1000 is the lowest minimum we've seen so far and
$500 up front is do-able although possible awkward. Big down side is
that WE may be the ones who act as cashier!
. . . . .

Border Grill also looks promising if the terms can be clarified. It's
not as convenient as the others but it could work.
. . . . .

If we're looking for a cocktail-only type of Celebration, any of the
above could work if they are willing to take our money for the bar
business.

Comments on any of these?

Any other "sleepers" out there? :)

Off Strip clarification and details:

I guess I didn't make it clear that, contrary to it's name, the "Off The
Strip Bistro & Bar" is located on the strip on the Linq promenade.

They're offering us full menu, $1000 minimum with a $500 deposit at time
of reservation, cash bar (applied to the minimum spent).

We would need enough people to bring cash for repaying the person who
paid the $500 deposit and everyone else can pay the restaurant.

They want 21% gratuity.

Another option:

Hi

Would the Peppemill be an option?

I know we used it a long time back and I think it was successful but for
a smaller group as I remember. Mid week should be quite easy to
negotiate for as it is a bit out of the loop now that The Riv has closed
(I think) and the circus place is in tatters. Consequently it is not a
walk from anywhere anymore so it might be reasonable to assume we could
get a decent deal from them.

There is heaps of free parking there and The food was quite nice. Could
someone local please look into the possibility and ask the management
there all the DLV related questions.

Sounds like more hassle than it's worth.

Sounds like a serious non starter out the gate.

> Off Strip Bistro:

I'm sure Off the Strip is worth looking into for the downstairs, I've
had good things about them. I am not fond of any of us dealing with one
bill.

The original is located in Southern Highlands.

A separate area is not necessary for me.

I don't think you're muddying the water here. I have eaten at the Border
Grill several times both food and service are very good. They also have
a location at the Caesars Forum Shops, I don't think it's quite as
large. I think the Mandalay Bay location has an outdoor patio.
