Easter start:

Marisa writes:

In regards to a Easter Sunday start; Restaurants in LV get booked full
on Easter Sunday and have special prices ($$$$$).

It's usually very congested and hard to get around also. Most locals
have learned the hard way to avoid tourist areas on special holidays.
. . . . .

Sherry writes:

I like everything I'm reading about 2016 planning. However, I won't
drive to Vegas on Sunday and feel that any events planned for Easter
Sunday will be poorly attended.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks ladies.

I'm not hearing any overwhelming demand to move the start date to
Sunday. Although we're open for a motion to do that, it appears very
doubtful that it would carry, in light of the comments received.

I like the idea of attempting to combine it with something else, rather
than to try and time it in a way that allows people to jump from one
activity to another if they are willing to drive.

As always, I'm happy to do research and coordinate on the Art Tour.

As I look at the list (above), I think seeing an Art exhibit would be
great prep for the camera safari. As soon as I see what day the Golf
Tournament is, I'll suggest a day for the Art Tour.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks, Sarah.

As an aside here, it's very possible that there will be two (or maybe
more) golf sessions this year.

I would personally be interested in a "Camera Safari" type of thing,
although I would probably want to let somebody else do the actual
coordination so I could concentrate on the picture-taking. :)

Limo and Audrey:

Katie writes:

I have done a few of the Limo tours since 2002 and **always** found that
it fizzled out when the limo's returned us to our starting point.

The Charlies bar thingy was always a follow up plan but notably that did
not start until 2 AM or somewhere around that time which was not a lot
of use to most of us.

With that in mind I would like to suggest that we combine the Limo Tour
Fizzle out time with the Audrey tour climax thereby negating an early
end to a terrific evening out after driving around L/V for 4 hours in a
Limo wearing that great formal evening dress you have been wanting to
wear for years and never had anywhere to wear it.

Some may not want to extend the evening but I always did and was
disappointed. Fortunately for me after a few years I got to know some of
the other limoites and finished off the evening with them in style. New
people often do not have this advantage!

Example only. Please read the ONLY BIT. This is not a suggestion, merely
an example of what we might do.

The Aud Tour was terrific 2 years ago and we could have danced all night
at Zeffirino as the saying goes but it would be terrific if the Limo
Ladies in their finery were to amalgamate with those in their LBD's from
the Aud tour somewhere after it was all over to ease down the night in
style.

Somewhere such as the mexican bar place at the Linq. (Don't shoot the
messenger it is only an example) I am sure there are better places to do
this End of evening 1 more drink before bed thingy but I can't think of
one at the moment and the Linq is so near everything DLV. which makes it
easy for most to just walk back to their hotel and collapse in bed
happily exhausted. with the understanding that at this time of night in
Las Vegas most bars and lounges are full to capacity.

Another idea would be the lounge behind the bar in the middle of the
casino at The Cromwell. This is never full and would have ample seating
for those left standing.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Historically speaking, about every attempt I can remember attempting to
synchronize any time-and-place meeting of two activities has been a
disaster. One group ends up waiting for an attention-span-exceeding
amount of time for the other group to show.

In 2013 we attempted to have the Audrey Tour terminate at the Non
Charles Bar, to be joined by the Limo Tour folks, but the group ended up
being very fragmented and only a handful of the Limo Tour people made it
over there.

We also learned the hard way that we should always end the Limo Tour
where it started, even if the end is literally across the street from
the start.

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that the Audrey Tour
and the Limo Tour appeal to the same audience, so it would probably not
be the best idea to schedule them concurrently.

However, your comment is along the line of how do we keep the Limo Tour
alive, or how do we let it segue' into a subsequent social activity. I
think the obvious plan would be to pre-designate a bar or lounge at the
specific venue of the ending of the Limo Tour as the official Post-Limo
gathering spot. The less of a discontinuity we make it, the more people
will go along and follow the gang.

EHM and Dr. Victoria:

Dionne writes:

I asked Dr. Victoria about having an event there for the week of March
28.I also asked about the Puppet (penis) show (potential impact to
availability). Here's her reply;

March sounds great. We can host any activity you like. Let us know and
we will accommodate.

Best,
Doc

PS - the puppets show is still on-going.
. . . . .

How much time should we plan to spend there? Afternoon or Evening? What
day? Dr. V is open to having us either time slot. That week works for
her.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Here are my thoughts, and I would like to encourage input from others.
I am mainly thinking in terms of maximum turnout, participation,
enjoyment, and satisfaction.

I think it's a given that an evening activity would get a significantly
better turnout than something during the daytime. As for time, I see the
2013 activity officially started at 8:00pm and I know there were still
people there 11-ish. I think three hours is about right.

The EHM session in 2013 rated 4.82 on the enjoyment scale. That was the
year when we had the swap meet, the burlesque entertainer, and the CD
exhibit as well as the museum itself and the Dr. Victoria session.

I would think that the model that was used in 2013 would be a good one
to build upon for 2016. :)

I like this idea and will pass it by the store manager.

just a gentle reminder about modest pricing goals for DLV 2016.

let's do what we can to make this a more affordable vacation.

Please pencil me in for Hostess at Mandalay, Mizuya club for at least
one night in DLV 2016. Which night will be determined by what band is
playing and my other commitments are for that week. Check it out and let
us know what you think of it.
