JoAnn Sez:

The pace is picking up. The "musical chairs" schedule routine will come
to a stop shortly.

No new events. Only refinement of currently established events, please.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Let's talk about capacity:

All activity coordinators:

If your activity is on the sign-up list, we need to either
establish a capacity limit, or effectively override it and
declare no limit.

These limits are not critical for getting activity sign-up
started, but will be when things start to fill up.

Please look over the following list. It gives the limits at
which the "Full" flag will appear on the activity sign-up
screen, and the activity assumes a waiting list state.

In most cases, the "show up" count is what triggers the waiting
list, but if you want the raw sign-up count can do it as well.

Anyway, if there are any corrections, please yell.

EHM and Tuesday timing:

All, partcularly Marisa and Rosada:

Please read the following carefully, as we have some timing
decisions to make, and we need to have these solid within
the next few days.
. . . . . . . . . .

Sarah writes:

Erotic Heritage Museum.

I spoke with Dr. Victoria Austin of the EHM and we are on for
Tuesday evening from 8-10 PM.

This will be an event just for DLV, so the facility will be
ours alone during that time slot.

$10.00 per person is the suggested donation and they are looking
forward to having DLV visit their museum. They have a capacity
to handle our entire group and then some, so there is no limit
on attendance, only a limit on parking. There is a 50 space
parking lot they share with a Strip Club. Car pooling or arriving
by taxi is suggested.

They have a bar, but because of other issues will not be able
to offer alcoholic beverages that evening. Soft drinks and some
snacks may be available.

If anyone wishes to dress a little more provocatively than they
might normally do they are welcome to do so. Just remember they
share the parking lot with the strip club.

The EHM is staffed by clinical psychologists and Dr. Victoria
Austin will be leading a tour. She indicates that there are
plenty of displays and exhibits that do not require a guide, so
if groups split off and wander on their own, that is an excellent
option as well.

I'm thinking we will mill about waiting for stragglers to arrive
and begin the tour around 8:30. It should take about an hour, so
comfortable shoes may not go with the outfit you plan, but
shouldn't be out of the question.

If anyone has suggestions for good places to go after this tour,
I'm open for those.

If there are other concerns or questions let me know and I'll get
answers. But as it stands now I'm ready to send in the confirmation
email letting them know we will be there.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks for the updates, Sarah. I'll get the details added to the
various documents.

Now, all, particularly Marisa and Rosada ...

Let's talk about timing for Tuesday evening, as it applies to
this activity and will be driven by it.

It's obvious to me that the existing schedule will not work.

+Tuesday, April 5:
+ 6:00pm: Happy Hour (Chapala's) - ms
+ 6:00pm: Happy Hour (Firefly Paradise) - ms
+ 7:00pm: Mexican Dining (Chapala's) - ms
+ 7:00pm: Firefly Dinner (Firefly Paradise) - ms
+ 8:00pm: Erotic Heritage Museum (Erotic Heritage Museum) - mv

Although it's a Good Thing<tm> to try to standardize the start
times for various things such as Happy Hour and Dinner, it ain't
gonna work on Tuesday. I am going to suggest that we move back
the start times for the Happy Hours and the Dinners to 5:00pm for
HH and and 6:00pm for dinner, with some very obvious notices of
the nonstandard times for these on schedules and such.

Marisa and Rosada, will this be acceptable? Can we please have
a confirmation or an objection from each of you ASAP?

This would make the schedule look like this:

+Tuesday, April 5:
+ 5:00pm: Happy Hour (Chapala's) - ms
+ 5:00pm: Happy Hour (Firefly Paradise) - ms
+ 6:00pm: Mexican Dining (Chapala's) - ms
+ 6:00pm: Firefly Dinner (Firefly Paradise) - ms
+ 8:00pm: Erotic Heritage Museum (Erotic Heritage Museum) - mv

I really don't see any other way to do it, which would not spoil
the turnout(s) at either the dinners or the EHM or both.

Rosada? Marisa? All?
. . . . .

Now, as to where to go after the tour, I can envision several
options, and the difficult part will be selecting which one.

Since the dress code for the Museum Tour will be relaxed, it
will most likely be best to pick one of a "safe venue" nature
as opposed to mainstream.

Three venues come to mind immediately. Flex, Escape, and Crewsn.

We're already using Crewsn for several things, so I would
suggest Flex or Escape, simply for variety. Not exactly next
door, but off in the same general direction. The location of
a post-EHM gathering probably does not need to be decided in
the immediate future.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Neon Boneyard:

Sarah writes:

I tested the Neon Boneyard reservation system and they have
responded. They provide all the warning information in that
reservation.

When people sign up on the DLV site they should also send in a
request to the NBY as well.

It is possible that we will have a waiting list that we will
need to work out with those who reserve more than one spot
through the NBY site.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks for the update, Sarah.

It appears to me that the limit on this activity will be that
of by the tour operator, as opposed to any we would set, unless
you want to set a smaller limit for our group. Please let us
know if you want this.

I think it's probably easier to let the attendees sign up
with NBY individually instead of trying to futz around with
grouping them. It appears that NBY will accept a reservation
for one or two.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Various activities:

Laura T. writes (quoted):

>I recently spoke to Ginger and she wants me to take over as the
>Hostess of at Trevi and I said okay. Just wanted to update you.

Thanks for the update, Laura. We'll adjust things to show you
as the lead for Trevi and Ginger for backup.
. . . . .

MAC makeovers:

>Monday, April 4th at 2:00 pm

>Location is Town Square, south of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd
>Sign up (headcount) needed max 5 people, includes myself
>Minimum purchase of $50 of products.
>Transportation needed.

>Thursday, April 4th at 9:00 am

>Location is Town Square, south of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd
>Sign up (headcount) needed max 10 people, does not include myself
>Minimum purchase of $50 of products.
>Transportation needed.

Got it. Please check the sign-up screen to be sure everything
is the way it should be.
. . . . .

>Trevi :
>As scheduled at Ceasar's Palace, Forum shop area
> 6:00pm Pre-Limo Happy Hour (Trevi)
> 7:00pm Pre-Limo Dinner (Trevi)

>Include reminder of bathroom etiquette.

Yes, that will be on the notes in the final schedule.

>Volunteered to help Marilyn with High Tea

>Volunteered to with the Limo Tour. Hope Trevi won't interfere
>too much.

It shouldn't. Trevi should be wrapped up by the time we load
the people in the limos.

I think JoAnn has the afternoon duties covered, so you will
be free to attend to the Trevi affair.

>I am also willing to help out with the shooting event by
>bringing additional firearms to the event. I was already
>planning on attending.

Thanks, I'm sure that will be appreciated.

>Is there a hostess for the shooting event?

Yes, sortakinda.

Gina and Vanessa were the original hostesses. Both of them have
possible conflicts and their attendance is iffy.

Densie has volunteered to help out, but as of now has not
officially said she would be taking the lead.

I think it's safe to say that either first or second chair
are available to you if you want it.
. . . . .

>One other item:

>If Ginger was not doing makeovers at Bare Essentuals this
>year I can host it. Attended last year and enjoyed it very
>much. Got to know some of the ladies there and I can host
>not already on the list. I have not contacted them yet but
>it would be Wednesday morning and should not interfere with
>Harmony Nail Spa.

Ginger did say she would do it, but has not firmed it up as
of this writing. I did "ping" her on it, but no response
yet.

If you're in contact with Ginger, you might agree between
the two of you who will take the lead, and more importantly,
firm up the day/time.

I'm supposed to see Ginger IRL this weekend, but I am hoping
that we have things set before then.
. . . . . . . . . .

Laura continues, unquoted:

To Sarah (EHM event):

Spoke to Dr. Austin last year and seems very nice ... and her
SO did the TG display. Is there anything we can do for her or
EHM to expand the TG area of the Museum? Maybe some of their
grad students would like to speak with us during our outing.
There is also a Dr. Amanda there who is a co-curator of the
museum.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Golf payment:

Danielle writes (quoted):

>The golf info is good, as far as it goes.

>You entered the right e-mail address in the PayPal box. That's
>my PayPal e-mail address. So that should work.

Actually, there's nothing we did which will cause your address
to appear in the box on the Paypal site. It's most likely a
cookie or an auto-completion in your browser that is doing it.

In any case, it will not auto-complete in an attendee's browser.

Please confirm that the e-mail address you've been using for the
ORG traffic is the correct address to use and we'll finish things
up

>One important item; PayPal charges a $3 transaction fee. So can
>we list the charge as $45+$3 PayPal transaction fee? I think
>Mindy just built it in, last year, charging $48.

I'll adjust the price to $48. Yes, that is what was done last
year.

>And we probably should mention that you don't need to be a
>member of PayPal to pay. Just have a valid credit card.

That will be noted on the sign-up screen.

>As for cut-off, the course asked for a count 10 days before.
>But to give a bit of padding, I'd call for the end of the day
>on Friday, Mar 25. Much later and, as long as we can accomodate,
>they may have to call the course direct. That will probably work,
>but I don't want to publicize it.

Ok, we'll note the deadline on the sign-up screen and add it
to the "Deadlines and Cutoffs" document.

>I'd give out the course telephone number, but I'm not sure that's
>a good idea. That will only encourage people to call the course
>directly to register.

We can tell the people to contact you for any special issues,
and if so, you can give them the number. I think that's the
best way to handle it.

>However, should we include my e-mail address in the sign-up info?
>In case anyone has specific questions? Like whether you can rent
>clubs?

Yes, definitely. It will be needed to properly pay by Paypal.

>FYI, I'm planning on developing a prototype set of "The DLV Rules
>of Golf." Which people will be free to use, if they wish. Things
>like losing a stroke if you don't put your tee in the ground
>ladylike. Which we'll go over in a general meeting before we
>tee off.

>We're also making progress on prizes.

>So, otherwise, we're in good shape.

Thanks for the updates, Danielle. It appears that things are
just about solid for Golf. Please check over the sign-up screen
to be sure it's the way it should be.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Shooting and flying:

Densie writes (quoted)

>>If I understand the circumstances, all that you would need to
>>receive are trophies and such, no weapons.

>Still just about impossible for me to do, since I am only home a few
>days every month. If there is any other way I could help out with the
>shooting event, I would be happy to.

I'm sure you can do the in-person hostessing of the shooting
activity, with or without trophies or other material.

We may be able to get a volunteer, locally, to receive the items
and pass them on to you in person at DLV, or Laura might be able
to do this.

All: Do we have somebody, preferably locally, who can receive
some material, no weapons, for the shooting activity? Laura,
are you able to receive things?
. . . . .

>>Uh, I'm not the one who thought that one up. :) I think that
>>Tony prefers the name "Erastus" anyway. :)

>Yeah, except when he's wearing my underwear... then I call
>him Sapphire.

>haha Let's see if Tony is reading this list.

So does this mean we should change "Rastus" to "Sapphire" on
the name tag?
. . . . .

>But seriously, folks... it would be nice if we had one more pilot,
>and/or one more airplane for the air tours. If anybody has been
>waiting to come forward and volunteer, now would be the time.

>I was hoping to be able to go up there in advance and arrange to
>rent an additional plane, but things are hectic with the trucking
>business and we're going to be all over the place right up until
>the first of April.

>We may not get everyone in on Monday, but, like I said, I am
>willing to make additional trips to work others in. We should
>probably cap is activity at around a dozen, and then anyone
>who does not get to go Monday can come and talk to me on karaoke
>night, or another activity.

When we hit the capacity limit, we can put in a note that those
who do not get in on the initial group can see you in person for
possible extra sessions.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
High Tea and Limo Payments:

Crystal writes:

Of course I can accept payments for High Tea at PT's on Sunday,
April 3rd. Holli and I will be there from 5:45pm to greet attendees
at the HH and will remain there until the end of the Mainstream
Common Gathering.

I am also available on Monday night at Firefly to help collect
payments. If needed, I am willing to assist JoAnn in collecting
payments for the Limo Tour at PT's on Sunday and Firefly on
Monday.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks Crystal.

Please look over the following, which is the verbiage on the
sign-up screen for High Tea:

+Payment instructions for High Tea. Please read carefully. This has
+changed since last year.

+The cost for the High Tea will be $40, which includes tax and
+gratuities.

+Payment will need to be made by NOON on TUESDAY.

+Payment may be made in person to Marilyn, Danielle, Crystal, or Gabi at
+any of the following DLV activities:

+ * PTs Happy Hour and Dinner, Sunday
+ * Mainstream Common Gathering, Sunday
+ * Happy Hour, Dinner, Welcome Celebration, Monday
+ * Other times/places by special arrangement

I think it's best to include an e-mail address here for those
who need to make special arrangements. If any of your (Marilyn,
Danielle, Crystal, Gabi) want to have one of your e-mails
posted, we can do that, or else use the main DLV address and
forward.

Which would you prefer?

Collecting for the Limo Tour is more involved, since there are
hard tickets and it seems like half or more of those who are
paying have some fairly explicit questions about the Tour and
there will be some who will have an option to go A or E. I will
be collecting Limo Tour payments at the Alternative Gathering
which is just a few blocks away form the Mainstream Gathering,
so if there's somebody there who absolutely will not be able
to pay for the Limo Tour on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, it
would be best to send them down.
