Checking up on things:

JoAnn Here... It is quite lately. That means I need to check-up on
things with your all ...**.. on the Organization Group--

Now that summer is over (Labor Day has always been my milestone for the
passing of summer) I am looking forward to the "conversations" picking
up regarding this week's and thenext couple of weeks Organization
Mailings, especially about the selection of the Diva Week-2011. Time is
moving forward..... as always.....

Specifically, I hope that you share your thoughts and give all of the
Organization Group [especially myself] with feedback and/or exchange of
inputs, concerns, preferences, etc. etc. regarding the dates for the
Diva Week so I understand that we all are "heading in a direction" that
meets the needs of the Group and all of our attendees.

In the past I have seen that as we near the deadline for the "call of
the question on a topic" there is a "race to the deadline" with last
minute inputs which makes it difficult for the rest of us to have enough
time to follow-up with responses.

_So in the next two week_s, I hope everyone comments as to how they
think about the calendaring the Diva Week in 2011!!!.

I really am relying on your ideas, and thoughts... especially from
those of you who have just joined our Organization Group....

Personally I would like to get the date issue finalized so we can more
on with the dialog regarding the Events for the Diva Week. This is the
part that I find the most fun... new ideas... improvement on previous
events, and the process whereby we make the week have something for
everyone.... !!!

Wait to hear from you all.... vacation is over!!! Hugs..

And thanks for your volunteering to make the Diva Week the Diva Event it
has become.....

JoAnn

About lent, see wikipedia for some general information:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lent

I would think if one is a devout catholic or christian
and involved in their local church, its one of the
busier times where families go as a family to church,
at least on Easter Sunday.

There are two times churches have the most attendance
and it is Easter and Christmas. Many people only attend
church on those days.

For the catholics and christian churches that observe
lent, there are also services that deal with the last
days of Christ, including Palm Sunday, and also
sunrise service on that Easter Sunday morning.

Some catholic churches have services during the
week prior to Easter, called Stations of the Cross,
which retraces the last days of Christ. There is also
confession to purify one's self of sin before Easter.
These services may require one to be home to attend.

If one has a family and kids that go to a church
pre-school, many have programs that occur during
the Sunday Easter Service, so both parents are
under a bit of pressure for both to also attend
church to watch their children in the school program.
It also means alot of practice sessions leading up at
the school for that service for both parents and kids.

Those involved with volunteer or staff at churches
will be busy the week before preparing for these
services, as in getting the church cleaned or chairs
setup, sound, music, and also food if meals are
also served, and also the programs for the different
services. More so if one is involved with the church
music or choir, that means practice singing sessions
and going over the program for those services.
This includes also sound, ushers, lights, parking,
greeters, etc.

Many have observance of Mass or Last Supper
during the services, so prepping the bread and
juice/wine takes time too, with the added numbers
attending just for Easter Sunday.

I'm not sure how many attendees has families
that attend christian churches, considering what
we do at DLV for some may go against what a
christian person should not be doing, but considering
the work that goes on to prepare for Easter if one
is involved with a church, or the significance of that
week, and that its a family event, it can pull people away
from going to DLV if its during lent or prior to
Easter.

Congratulations to Gina:

No further nominations have come in for the even year seat on
the Administrative Committee, leaving Gina unopposed when the
nominations were closed.

Unless we have a substantiated objection during the next list
cycle, let's declare Gina the continuing holder of this seat
by acclamation.

Gina... Another year of your "quips"... I'm ready... JoAnn
