I am opposed to this nomination for two reasons.
1. As Mary Beth has reminded us, we have historically
seen a significant departure on or just before Saturday,
probably attributable to the increased room rates for
the weekend.
This option does not allow full six-day participation
on weekday room rates. I see this as reducing the
overall participation in, and overall satisfaction of
the event as a whole.
2. It acts as a "spoiler" for the Sunday-Friday option
which has been nominated and received multiple seconds.
For this reason, I encourage all to refrain from seconding
this nomination and, should it be seconded, for those in
favor of a six-day event to please cast their votes for
the already-nominated Sunday-Friday timeframe.
