Org List:
This is the DLV 2009 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.

This mailing:
First of all, Happy Easter and/or Passover. :)
Early mailing. We have a few time-sensitive items, plus we
need to keep things moving along.
Thanks to those who have recently taken on activities and/or
finalized details!
The big priority this next week is finalizing the activity
sign-up!
Anything that will require a sign-up, headcount, hoop-jump, or
something like that will need to have the details solid by
this coming Saturday, April 18!
THIS IS A HARD-STOP, DROP-DEAD DATE!
Activities for which we do not have the details by April 18
will then be on a no-sign-up-just-show-up basis.
. . .
I'm still planning on sending out a test sign-up mailing to
the activity coordinators as soon as we get enough detail
on certain activities to fill in some blanks.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Laundry list:
A few hanging and blanks to be filled in here ...
. . . . .
* SO gathering?
Ginger? (Kay?) Michelle? (Susan?)
Any decision on timeslot for the SO gathering? We do not need
the venue yet, just the (tentative) timeslot for the sign-up
screen.
. . .
* Murder mystery?
Holly, how do you want to handle the sign-up for the people
who will be playing the roles? Do you want them to e-mail
you for this? (We can set up a throw-away e-mail address
if you don't want your real e-mail to appear on the sign
up screen.) Do we want to set up an ad-hoc mailing list
for the Murder Mystery folks?
. . . . .
* SBS Social venue?
Ping Ginger!
. . .
* Dick's Last Resort?
Going twice!
. . .
Aiko, Kumiko?
Do you want to use the LV Outlet Center for NSD carpool staging
again? If not, where will this be?
. . .
Britney, Kimberly Kael?
Photo sessions? Any movement on this? Go? No go?
. . .
Gina, Vanessa? Do you want to have a carpool staging location
for the pistol/rifle shooting? If so, where and when?
. . .
* Saturday after Bahama Breeze?
This is our final evening. Do we scatter to the winds when BB
winds down?
Going twice!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Golf help needed:
Mindy is in need of assistance for the golf outing.
Golfers? We need a volunteer! (Or two!)
Mindy writes:
>I need one or two people to do video (I will supply one

Golfers? :)

Thanks, Susan. I've adjusted the schedule. I'll note that the
Pity Party and Jam Session times are approximate in the notes.

Pre-DLV:
AJ writes:
>I've not had any problems at the alexis Park Restaurant. They
>look forward to having me back.
I haven't had any problems either, but there's that nagging
question of TG hostility, and Nora has been unable to get a
clear handle on what their attitude really is.
If Nora clears the air on this, we can do the Pre-DLV at
Alexis Park again. If not, I think we have a very good
back-up at PT's.
This does not need to be set in stone until the first advance
copies of the LFM are sent out.
Besides, we really need to focus our attention and energy on
the main DLV schedule. We still have those weak spots! The
Pre-DLV thing needs to be second-priority, and we're well
covered with 1 and 1/2 options for that.
>We could do a sunday evening dinner at the prime rib loft
>(orleans hotel) Nancy and the gang would love to have us.
>restaurant and bar are smoke free. very adequate self and

If we're gonna do Prime Rib Loft, it really needs to be either
Tuesday or Friday. That's where our needs are. If you can't
coordinate it, hopefully somebody else will be willing to step
in and do so.
For Sunday, we need to announce one and only one Pre-DLV
activity for the evening, and the venue for that needs to
be both unquestionably safe and not cloistered. Alexis park
meets those criteria, pending attitude check. So does PT's.
We need the group to be together on Sunday, not split up.

Bar Crawl:
Lisa writes:
>Hello, I like to start at Goodtimes. Then work across town.
>free zone maybe so hard to park / esacape and flex.
Gotcha! Thanks.
As for Freezone, remember that we did have a restroom nazi
situation there last year. I think that condition still
exists. Yes, parking tends to be a mess in that area too.
Flex and escape (and Spotlight) should have plenty of
parking.

Yes, the special volunteers are credited. Here's what I have
for those for 2009:
Big Sister Coordinator: Nora
Check-in: Crystal, Nora
DLV commemorative pins: Kumiko
DLV Logo Shop: Dorothy
Greeters: Annie, Britney, Lisa, Kimberly Kael, Nora
Registration-mailings: Annie
Roommate Coordinator: Diane
Translator: Rosada
If anybody sees any omissions or errors, please scream.
I probably should have clarified the last mailing as being the
activity coordinators only. I'm doing that from the machine-
generated list and calling for multiple proofreads this year
since I let one major error on it slip by last year.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Roommate sharing:
Diane writes:
>Good Afternoon,
Uh, yes, it is. :)
>I have only received two requests for roommate sharing. I hope
>more girls take advantage of this.
The reason I think room sharing is slow this year is that room
prices are unusually low. We re-ran the roommate notice in the
last general mailing, and I'm sure it will come up in rotation
again at least once more before DLV.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Movie Night:
Amber Michelle writes:
>I Amber will adopt the movie night outing. what night or
>day is it on the schedule
Thanks for taking this on! :)
It's currently scheduled for Tuesday evening, after dinner.
This (Tuesday evening) is a timeslot which is very much in
need of smaller activities, so if you will be willing to
keep it in that timeslot, it would be best.
It was tentatively planned to go to the soon-opening Star
Trek feature, however, since you adopted this it's your baby
and your call whether you keep this or select another feature.
If you want a sign-up for this, we'll need to know the details
(as in where, what feature, what time) by this Saturday.
Otherwise it will need to be a no-sign-up-just-show-up type
of thing.
Please let us know on this.
Thanks again! :)

Thanks for the updates, Edy.
I can imagine that they are totally clueless WRT what you are
proposing and have no idea how they want to handle it.
The big question for this is what time? The web shows that
they have shows on the hour from 12 until 4. I'm putting
this as a place-holder for the 2:00pm show. If you want
this changed, please let me know.
The only other item we have for Saturday afternoon so far
is the SBS Social, and that usually draws less than 1/2
of our in-town crowd, so you should have a good potential
audience for this.

As of this time I'm expecting that you will be at or over
capacity at 20. If we do get one or more dining options for
Tuesday, this may be alleviated somewhat.

Wednesday evening.
