Latest ORG updates:

There seems to be a consensus forming on La Cage for the Thursday
pre-Limo show and Buck Wild for the Saturday show.

If anybody does not think these are good choices, please speak now
or forever ...

LaCage and Annual Mixer:

Julie writes:

>Your suggestion about having LaCage on Thursday evening may work well,
>just before the Limo Tour.

Thanks. Although I personally would prefer to see Hairspray, I think
that LaCage would get us a better DLV turnout for a number of reasons
and the timing and location are good for a segue into the Limo Tour.

>Another thought... are we going to have the "Annual Mixer" I may be
>overlooking it in the schedule. Is it under a different title?

Well, uh, yes and no.

"Annual Mixer" was on a previous version of the schedule under that name
for Friday evening, but when the wedding/dinner/reception plans were
made, it was kinda pushed aside for that sequence.

+ 4:30pm Wedding Ceremony (Viva Las Vegas Chapel)
+ 6:00pm Wedding Reception (Bahama Breeze)
+ 7:00pm Dinner (Bahama Breeze)

My hope is that the wedding reception and dinner gets the majority of
our people together in one place and acts as kind of a defacto "Annual
Mixer" for a good dose of that Quality Social Time<tm> on Friday.

My guess is that the dinner will last until at least 9:00pm, with normal
schedule slippage and such. That's about time for those who will go
dancing (whether organized or not) will be moving on.

We (non dancers) could, I suppose, either remain at the Bahama Breeze
for more of the QST as a designated Annual Mixer or even adjourn to
Goodtimes for the more traditional venue.

Comments, gang?

Buck Wild, Saturday and Stratosphere:

Edy writes:

>got the copy of your email to Tiny. Perhaps we should consider Buck
>Wild for sat night with maybe a private party afterwards to bid
>farewell to each other.

Thanks Edy. I do think BW would do the best job of getting our people
out together in one place for the final Saturday.

I don't know if you were copied on the one note from Tiny, but Tiny asks
you to write in advance of previewing the show for a comp on it. :)

As to a post-BW get-together, yes, I'm all for it. The only question is
where? :)

Also for timing. If BW starts at 9:00pm, that means it will get out
about 10:30 or so. I'm sure that some (not all) :) will call it a night
at that time, but others will want to do something.

We do have RHPS at 12:00, but not everybody will do that.

My suggestion is to just pick a place to meet and do a post-BW strictly
social thing. Those who do RHPS can come for a while, or even stop by
after. :)

>Another idea, maybe we should visit the Stratosphere.. I've never been

>deal there??

We did have a group go there in 1998. I stayed down and played VP and
the others went up in the tower. (NO WAY I am going up in that thing!)

I think the best fit for a Stratosphere Tower excursion would be as a
"mainstream" option for Mainstream/Alternative Night on Wednesday,
followed perhaps by wandering on to other places.

If you want to do this, please let me know so I can get it on the
schedule. Thanks.

Garden Party:

Tootsye writes:

>I always enjoyed the Garden Party at Mindy's house and missed not

Although it's not one of the most "exciting" of our many activities, I
always really enjoyed the Garden Party as a way to relax on that final
Saturday morning and afternoon. The "kids, dogs, and neighbors" of the
Garden Party setting is something that we (DLV) had that no other TG
event has.

All of us do, however, understand Mindy's situation, and realize why
she will not be able to host(ess) it this year.

I do appreciate you taking the initiative to get the ball rolling on
such an activity this year. :)

>It might be possible to do it on Saturday if we can get an extension
>until a Sunday checkout, but we won't know until March 10.

If you could do this, it would be SUPER! :) :)

>If we do not have it on Saturday, I don't know when we should have it.

Actually, any afternoon would work, but my guess is that the turnout
would be best if it were on Saturday.

On Monday it would be against the Death Valley Tour, and I know you
don't really care for desert trips. Not everybody will go to DV.

Tuesday it would be against the Lake Mead Tour and again, not everybody
will go on that.

Again, Wednesday, Ballroom and SO's, but again, not everybody ...

Thursday, against Golf ... Probably some objections there. My guess is
that the Glamour Boutique Open House will be Thursday as well.

Friday afternoon is clear up until the Wedding Ceremony.

>I would envision it lasting from about 1:00 PM to 4:00Pm Or possibly
>5:00PM?

Mindy used to announce the start at 11:00am, with most arriving around
noon or so and those fashionably late popping in later.

If you have it on Saturday, yes, it could be later. The feature activity
of the evening will most likely be the Buck Wild show and it starts at
9:00pm.

>We need to get the permission from the condo management to have a party
>for some friends in the courtyard. I don't know if that will be a
>problem or not, but we will ask in the next few days!

>We anticipate that we could provide a few sodas and chips, but would
>need some contributions to provide much in the way of snacks!

A contribution is understood. My suggestion is to make this mandatory
and collect at the door assertively. I remember a few years back they
did take a bath on it due to the door donation being meager.

If possible, I think the availability of a modest amount of adult
beverages would help the turnout. Mindy used to have beer mixed in
with the soda.

>I think Southern Belles have sponsored it in the past! If we can get
>permission from the management, we would be delighted to have the
>Southern Belles to sponsor the GP! at our condo!

I know that SBS likes to have one DLV activity designated as one of
their "socials" each year.

SBS ladies? Ginger? Nora? I know there are others among us. If you
want to have your brand on this, please let me know.

Anyway, I'm going to pencil this in for 1:00pm on Saturday. Please
let me know to change it if the condo courtyard will not be available
on Saturday.

Thanks again for taking this one on. :)
