Some various notes:

We're closing in on the halfway mark in our DLV planning year.

Next month will be our yearly go-round of voting on our suggested hotels
for DLV 2006.

At this time I would like to place the Sahara in nomination as one of
our suggested hotels. It's not the most fancy on the Strip, but it is
clean and comfortable and priced right. I just stayed there for about 2
weeks and have no complaints.

For those who intend to check on those "Special Group Rates"<tm> at
various hotels, this is your Going Once notice. Ditto to those who
want to check into arrangements for blocked off rooms on the same
floor and things like that.

Again, there has been some talk regarding designating one hotel as the
preferred hotel above all others. Comments?
. . . . .

As many of you know, we had two nice get-togethers in Las Vegas over the
past few weeks.

First was at Suede, on the site of the old Tramps/Sashas/LaStrada. Nice
place, good food, and they do have entertainment but it looks like all
of us crashed before any of it took place. Suede is apparently under the
same management as Gipsy, so we can be reasonably sure it will be around
next April.

I see this as a strong possibility for a medium group gathering. It
probably will not seat our entire group at once, though.

Second was at Steven Davids. To speak very freely, I hope this place
stays around, but it might be iffy. They didn't have much of a crowd on
a Saturday. We were the largest group in there. They are optimistic
about business picking up when the video poker gets installed.

The food was great. I had a ribeye that was as tender as a filet and
seasoned with just the right amount of "bite".

Steven and I talked briefly about doing a large group thing there for
DLV 2006. Yes, they would love to have it, but he did caution that
things are uncertain at this time WRT which direction the place would
go.

Another note, word on the street is that Celebrity downtown has closed
with very little notice. Speculation is that they were bought out at a
very attractive price.

Funeral schedule:

Densie writes:

>>>>Thanks, Densie. What evening do you want [the funeral] to happen?

>>>Let's shoot for Thursday night.

>OK now ANSI, it doesn't do any good to ask me which night I want if
>you're not gonna let me have it. ;)

>Wednesday night would work.

Ok, it's on the schedule. Wednesday night it is. :)

Funeral or wake:

JoAnn writes:

I don't know if a wake is what Densie has in mind here. :)

NSD III:

Aiko has made contact with the management of Sheri's Ranch as an opening
to a possibility of some kind of a NSD like activity there.

>This is the reply to an e-mail I sent to Sheri's Ranch. Let's see what
>happens.

+>Question:
+>To the manager:

+>Diva Las Vegas is a "convention" of primarily male to female
+>crossdressers who meet for a week in Las Vegas around the last week in
+>April since 1997.

+>The website is www.geekbabe.com/dlv

+>For the past two years, we've gone to the Chicken Ranch to visit for
+>a few hours. The name we called this activity was "Night of the Soiled
+>Doves". I guess you could say that we were the "entertainment" for the
+>working ladies and staff. Last year, there were around eighty of us at
+>the CR.

+>We would like to visit your facility this year. It would be for a few
+>hours for us to buy drinks, meet the staff and ladies, and generally
+>have a good time. If that's possible, would you e-mail me back, and we
+>can discuss some details. Thanks

+Dear Aiko,

+Thank you for your interest in Sheri's Ranch. I have forwarded your
+email to the General Manager, Laraine Harper. If I can be of further
+assistance, please let me know.

+Thank you.
+Sincerely,
+Candice Mitchell

Thanks, Aiko. Comments, ladies (gentlemen)?

I do think a NSD III would be appropriate, and I am intrigued at the
idea presented here of splitting the group among the 2 facilities to
lessen the crowd at any one. I realize that would take quite a bit
more coordination.
