Getting together in Las Vegas:
Unless something totally unexpected happens, I will be in Las Vegas on
the weekend of November 19-20. Since I definitely want to check out the
new Zingers club -- anybody who wants to join me -- I'll plan to be
there sometime around 9:00 - 10:00pm on Friday evening November 19th.
I'm also trying to verify that Michael Cagle is still on in the Starlite
Lounge over at the Stardust on Fridays. If he is, I'll see if I can
catch him there on the way.
. . . . .
The pin project is ready to go! The trigger has been pulled and the
check is in the mail!
Final proof of the design on which we appear to have a consensus is now
on line at:
http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/proof-2.jpg
Thanks to Yvonne and Joann for making this happen!

We still do not have a valid e-mail address for Leah. If you're in
touch with her, please ask her to give us a current working address.

Oops, big oops. Some of you may be receiving a duplicate of this, when
I launched the send this morning I inadvertently sent it to the main
DLV list instead of the ORG list. {blush} Fortunately I aborted it when
it was obvious it was the wrong list. :(

Hotel nomination:
Kate writes:
>I would like to nominate The Palace Station as one of our suggested
>Hotels. It is extremely reasonable if reserved early enough and has
>easy access to parking and CAT stops right out front too.
Thanks, Kate. So nominated.
Well, gang ...
Nominated hotels now are:
Sahara
Boardwalk
Imperial Palace
San Remo/Hooters
Palace Station
One more week for hotel nominations. This is last call. Any more?

Dress for air tours:
Densie writes:
>>For those who are in charge of activities, I would invite you to

>For air tours, I would recommend casual BM or GM. Stilleto heels,
>tight skirts, or anything that would make it difficult to get in and
>out of the plane is not recommended.
Thanks, Densie.
Any others?

Another Zingers review:
Yvonne writes:
>Just got back from LV for Halloween and back from vacation.
>I personally like this place above all other places so far in LV.
>The opening night was fantastic!!! The entertainment they had for that
>night was awesome. I hope they can get that group again.
>Its a excellent place to meet for DLV, both as a stage-ing area or
>after any event. Very very nice and classy place. Good drink service.
>Alot of tables to sit at and also around the bar, much more than
>Goodtimes and Flexes. Good environement for socializing and talking.
>Bar and room was dimmly light, but not pitch black dark like Goodtimes
>and Flexes. They also have a nice 'Television' room that can be used
>for private parties or meetings. Excellent lighting and sound system
>for entertainment and shows.
>They still have that square walk around bar, and a small dancing area
>and stage where the piano used to be when it was Keys. They removed the
>railing and showcase, so the seating area is quite open and seems
>larger.
>The music is louder around the dance floor and stage, but if one were
>to move back to the bar area, the music isn't as loud and conversations
>can still continue.
>I'm not sure if it was only for the opening, but its the first bar I've
>been to that actually had complimentary pretzels and nuts!!!
>I didn't see any food/meal type activity. I didn''t ask either if they
>would have it in the future.
>The bar will be installing the usual video poker machines in the bar in
>a few months.
Thanks, Yvonne. This place definitely shows a lot of promise. It does
certainly show that they're off to a very good start.
I'm looking forward to checking out Zingers in person next week.
