Org List:

This is the DLV 2004 Organizational Mailing List (dlvorg@geekbabe.com)
Replies to this message will be forwarded to the DLVORG list and not
the DLV-Announce or DLV-Discuss list.

Various items and updates:

Heads up for deadlines and cutoffs:

A couple reminders. Wednesday, March 31, is our absolute drop-dead date
for planning of any activity that needs a sign-up, headcount, or other
hoop jump. That's now less than 2 months away. Activity sign-up begins
April 1.

I'm planning for the Large Final Mailing<tm> to go out on Monday, April
26. That means that Sunday, April 25 is the absolute drop-dead date for
anything that appears on the final schedule. And, obviously, that is
also the drop-dead date for anything that is to be sent out in the LFM.
. . . . .

There have been a LOT of schedule changes and adjustments over the past
week or so. Please look over the draft schedule below to be sure you're
not missing anything important.
. . . . .

We've tested the golf list and it seems to work fine. If anybody here
wants to be involved in the golf organization and play, please subscribe
to it (dlvgolf@geekbabe.com) as we will be directing all golf traffic
that is not of general interest to the golf list from now on.
. . . . .

Speaking of golf, nothing has been received since the second notice of
golf reschedule went out to the general list. This has now been moved to
Thursday on the main schedule. See Mindy's note below.
. . . . .

I'm in the process of putting together the maps and visual directions
page. I would like to have everybody please take a look at the work in
progress and look for missing items or anything that's incorrect.

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2004/maps/

Also, does anybody have a clear photo of the entrance to the Desert Rose
Golf Club, or another easily-recognizable landmark near the entrance?

Thanks.
. . . . .

Art tour: Sarah, would you be willing to write a brief (100-300 words or
so) description of what you have planned for this tour to be included
in a general mailing in the near future? Thanks.
. . . . .

For those who love numbers, our general mailing list broke 450 last
week. I can realistically see this hitting 500 before DLV. It was
370-something this time last year.

Speaking of numbers: Confirmed registrations: 58, confirmed SO's 11 for
a confirmed headcount of 69. Validations outstanding: zippo!

Newcomers have been VERY good about responding to the validation e-mail
properly.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Shows and such:

No further comments have come in WRT the two proposed shows. I'll plan
to send a note to Cagle saying that our first choice is Saturday, and
for him to please confirm and finalize it.

I'm also sending a note to Tushell saying that there is interest in her
dinner/show (which would time about right following Cagle) but we need
more details.

I'm also going to send her a note that we indend to list her corset
workshop on our schedule as a vendor activity for Friday afternoon, as I
do believe this would interest many of our people.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Polls are still open:

Still time to vote on the Clarion Suites Emerald Springs as a suggested
hotel. Check your e-mail for your ballot. If you can't find it, write
and a duplicate will be sent.

Polls will close when no votes are received for a 48 hour period.

A special mailing will be made when the vote is final.

Charles Bar:

Gina writes:

>of a fixture.

Thanks, Gina.

>Besides if he isn't there we'll go anyways!

Ok, I guess that will make it the non-Charles bar if that happens. :)

I asked a couple of our people to pinpoint the Charles Bar on the
Bellagio floor plan, so I could include it in the visual directions, and
I now remember that I've been to that bar, though not during DLV. I very
well could have been served by Charles, as I do remember the bartender
there was very personable.

Well, they may be doing Karaoke there, but ...

I was originally intended to be a second-track thing for those who were
not going to the big show and limo tour.

There's a draft of the activity description right below. This will go
out in this Sunday's general mailing.

Ok, unless somebody says "STOP", I'll move the HT to Friday at 2:00pm.

>On the golf front thurs makes the most sense from the feedback and i

Ok, let's consider this a done deal. Golf will be moved to Thurs.

We can announce this both in the general list and the golf list as
we get a bit closer to DLV.

Ok, so noted. I'll get this on the dress suggestione in the LFM.

Again, we will get this in the LFM along with the directions.

Boat timing:

Well, uh, the assembly point for the NSD side trip will be the San Remo,
which is on the south side of the Strip area, and the destination of
the NSD side trip will be waaaaaayyyy southwest of the main LV area,
but I don't think it's practical to go from the boat trip to the NSD
side trip without a change of outfit, at least for 90%+ of our people.

>It's the group call - I'll sponsor/hostess either.

I really think that the suggestion of the earlier trip will increase
overall participation in both activities, and not get people into a time
crunch.

Unless there are any objections, I'll reschedule this to 10:30am on
the main schedule.

If anybody needs some assistance with busy work, we have a volunteer
to help. Let me know if you need help and I'll give you Tina's e-mail.
Tina has registered and is validated.

Pity Party item for general list:

Here's a draft of the item that will go out in this Sunday's general
mailing.
. . . . .

Big Show Pity Party:

Each general mailing between now and DLV will feature one of our
activities in detail. This week we feature Thursday evening's Big Show
Pity Party.

The name "Pity Party" comes from the original idea of providing an
activity to take pity upon those who could not go to the big show, but
the whole concept has expanded to something that is no longer just a
second-choice option.

Mindy will be host(ess)ing this party at her private residence. Please
join us in thanking Mindy (in unison now, "Thanks, Mindy") for the time
and effort and the use of her house.

Drinks and snacks will be served, and Mindy has arranged for a
bartender for the evening.

Highlight of this activity will be a 30-60 minute drag show on a lighted
stage under the palm trees in Mindy's back yard. The star of this show
will be ... YOU!

As Mindy writes:

+lets hear from anybody who would like to perform at the party.
+depending on interest each person could do from one to 3 numbers.

+anybody willing would be welcome (from the seasoned drag queen to the
+gee i always wanted to do that) the stage will be small so duets would
+be possible but anything more would be likely to end with a splash
+*LOL*

+performers would need to provide thier music on cd and let me know in
+advance the number or numbers they would like to preform so we dont
+have any duplication.

If anybody would like to consider performing, just reply to this mailing
and Mindy will get in touch with you.

Dress: "Vegas Cocktail Party" attire suggested. Flashy, but not trashy.

As Mindy states ...

+dress for the party will be casual dressy to cocktail dressy. please,
+because some of the younger members of my household and maybe a
+neighbor or two will be in attendance no fetish or trash wear.

Hope you're over this RSN!

DLV participant report:

Michelle and I were chatting on line the other nite and she was
wondering if/when I would be posting a report of who was registered and
such. We talked a bit about posting this periodically to the list here,
but I noted that some people start to complain if long reports are
posted to the list.

I ended up doing a quickie hack and putting this on line, with a
real-time query from the signup database.

http://{write if you need this}

Although there's nothing in there that's particularly sensitive or
confidential, please do not give out this URL.

First table is the individual registrations (no SO), second table is the
ones with SO, and the third is the non-validated ones. At the end is
some summary stuff. Newcomers can easily be identified with the zero in
the first year attended field.

Please use it, don't abuse it. :)
