This mailing:

This is being sent out early due to the volume of material that came in
and the number of things happening.

This is a very long mailing, but lots of important and relevant stuff.

First, thanks to everybody who came forward with plans and suggestions,
both for our activities and for the behind-the-scenes stuff. It looks
like things are taking shape nicely. :)

Some very good news is we have some very promising things suggested for
our Tuesday and Saturday evening feature activities.

We have a suggestion and a volunteer for a Tuesday evening feature
activity, one that yes, is a bit on the edge, but I think i will be
a major hit. See details below.

We also have a firm suggesting a Saturday dinner/show thing. I think a
strong Saturday evening will reinforce enthusiasm for and turnout at
the Garden Party.

We need some feedback and comments, particularly regarding these two
proposed ideas for Tuesday and Saturday evening activities.
. . . . .

Thanks to those who did come forward and volunteer to be Big Sisters.

We're still in need of those of you who know the ropes, so to speak, to
come forward and volunteer to be Big Sisters. I know many of you have
done so in the past. If you would like to help one of our newcomers make
the most of DLV, please step forward (actually just reply and say so)
and volunteer. TIA, gang!

See additional notes about the Big Sister Program below.

For those not aware of this, by the end of this week we will have both
a Big Sister request form and a Big Sister volunteer form on the web,
with links to both from the appropriate registration pages.

Hopefully by making this a convenient option at registration, we will
get more BS volunteers and a greater show-up rate for the shy newcomers
if they can request a BS at or before registration.

The HH for Tuesday was just a place-holder. No plans for it are in place

and have an alternate HH location locally for those not going.

I think this title says it without using any of the hot button words
that have previously been used.

>So, unless there are unmitigated objections from the masses, I'd like
>to have this event put on the schedule for Tuesday, with details up for

Of course. :)

I think this will be a very popular activity.

Trashy/flashy dress for such an activity does conform to our dress
guidelines, since it's most certainly in line with the time, place, and
circumstance of the activity.

(ROFL imagining the look on some of the working girls' faces if for some
reason a nun were to come walking into the place.) :) :) :)

I personally don't have any issue with putting this on the calendar,
since it's a fun photo-op and it's understood that it's not to partake
in any of the dishes they feature.

It's optional, and I can see why some may not want to do it.

And ... if this is to continue into an evening "trash/flash party", I
can think of no better place for it than the <big snotty grin> Las Vegas
Lounge.

I do have a couple concerns.

I don't want to be too explicit on the schedule or in the mailings WRT
the name of the business or the details. I think your suggestion of
"Night of the Soiled Doves" as the title will get the point across and
pique interest as well, without necessitating details.

If too many details were given, I can see this being misinterpreted. I
would hate for word to get out on the net or in the t* community that
DLV is sponsoring a trip to a cathouse. :) :)

Second, I want to be sure (both before and after) that we don't get any
juxtaposition of terms out on the net that would cause a search along
the line of "vegas brothel" and such to return any DLV pages. :)

I would like to thank Aiko for taking the initiative toward this
activity.

If there are any objections from some in the group here, or if anybody
might be tempted to mount a high horse, I'm hoping these objections will
also contain a suggestion (and a commitment to coordinate such) for an
equally-popular nontrivial activity for Tuesday evening.

Bad Attitude and Saturday show:

This is a copy of a conversation between me and Tushell, proprietor of
the Bad Attitude Boutique. I've edited it somewhat to keep the flow
obvious. T1+ denotes her original note, A+ denotes my original response,
and T2+ denotes her response to me.

I would like to hear what you think of the various topics before I
respond to her again.

On one hand, I think she is offering a good suggestion for a Saturday
night dinner/show, which could include some of our people. I know she
has had previous shows at Tramps, but I don't know yet of the venue of
this one. In any case, this almost seems like a perfect fit for
something on Saturday evening.

I'm thinking of maybe dropping the idea of a Friday shopping trip as I
had planned, and leaning toward supporting Mindy/Sarah's idea of a
thrift-shop crawl instead. (See discussion list.)

Anyway, I would like some comments on these various items ASAP, please,
specifically ...

1. Saturday evening plans. Is this something we want to pursue and
adopt as our feature evening activity set for Saturday?

2. Corset workshop. Do we want to place this on the schedule and
promote this to our people? Any concerns about the timing and the
turnout at our Friday evening activities? I think since this is an
individual-instruction thing, just posting the start time on our
schedule would avoid any turnout problems for our Friday evening
things.
. . . . .

T1+ We are so excited to see the progress Diva Las Vegas is making and
T1+ the response you are getting is tremendous. We applaud you!

A+ Thanks, yes, things are taking shape quite well for this year's DLV.

T2+ I just went through and answered below. Thanks for the quick
T2+ response you are a gem I hope we can work together sometime you seem
T2+ like a wonderful person.

T2+ Kindest Regards,

T2+ Tushell
. . .

T1+ We have scheduled a dinner theater Saturday May 8th, but we wouldn't
T1+ want to compete with anything you ladies have going on. Please
T1+ advise us as to weather you thing it would compete with your current
T1+ plans or be considered a reasonable option. I would even consider
T1+ coordinating with you for some extra talent. Let us know what you
T1+ think.

A+ Yes! Please tell us more about this, details such as what the show
A+ will be like, time, length, where it will be, cost, and ticket
A+ purchase details.

A+ I'm going to approach the DLV organizers about this (I'm copying this
A+ response to them) as we currently do not have any major plans for
A+ Saturday evening. This year, Saturday will be more of a wind-down day
A+ instead of a grand finale.

T2+ I'm going to get back with you on all the details once everything is
T2+ set. The contract for this night hasn't been signed yet so I can't
T2+ say too much, I'll get back to you next week. It will be a dinner
T2+ theater quite similar to our Valentines show, visit
T2+ www.BadAttitude.com for all the details and see the movie page for
T2+ the three minute teaser.

A+ I know that if this is on the schedule, there will be a few from our
A+ +group who would like to perform in it.

T2+ That would be great we would love to include them in the show. If we
T2+ have talent we don't have to pay we can make the cover price
T2+ cheaper.

T1+ Secondly Bad Attitude Boutique will be holding an all day corset

T1+ workshop from 2:00 to 7:00 PM Friday May 7th. We will have a staff
T1+ of corset experts doing fittings, education, and lessons on securing
T1+ yourself into a corset as well.

A+ Two concerns/questions about Friday, as I had planned on working a
A+ trip to your shop into an activity that afternoon ...

A+ I'll talk to the organizers about timing and such for the day-long
A+ workshop. Ordinarily I would have no problem putting your workshop on
A+ the schedule as an optional activity, since I'm sure we would have
A+ some interest.

A+ However, ending at 7:00 would definitely affect the turnout at our
A+ Dinner and Annual Mixer that evening, which we have designated
A+ "sacred", meaning we do not track anything against them to encourage
A+ absolute maximum turnout. If this could be pushed earlier a couple
A+ hours this would be much better for us and I hope you would consider
A+ this.

T1+ Entrance into the Boutique that day is $5.00 but applies to your
T1+ purchase of anything.

A+ Here's what I had tentatively planned for Friday afternoon, which
A+ historically has been "slow" time, in anticipation of Friday evening,
A+ which has always been one of the feature evenings of DLV.

A+ I plan to do a guided shopping excursion, hitting mainly the smaller
A+ independent shops, including, among others, the cluster on West
A+ Sahara, which includes you as well as Bare Essentials, and now
A+ Vavoom, and yes, Red Shoes.

A+ This is gonna be "power shopping" to an extent, fairly quick, giving
A+ those who come on the trip exposure to a number of smaller places,
A+ introducing them personally to the staff, for those who are a bit shy,
A+ and letting them do some actual shopping if they want. I plan it to
A+ be fairly fast-paced, as we have several places to hit, with probably
A+ a max of an hour in the West Sahara cluster.

A+ If you could make some kind of exception to the admission charge for
A+ this group coming (for a relatively short time) I'm sure more of them
A+ will stop in your shop. I can see if there is an admission charge
A+ that they will simply gravitiate to the other shops in the area
A+ during that stop.

T2+ The workshop is just on going though out the day. We work with each
T2+ person individually it is not an all day class or anything. We have
T2+ many customers who don't get off work until 5:00 so ending early is
T2+ not an option. Your ladies can stop coming by 5:00 but we don't want
T2+ to exclude our other customers who are already planning to come.

T2+ Also our store is small and the $5.00 refundable entrance fee will
T2+ keep people out who are not actually interested in shopping. We
T2+ won't have time for hanging out the day of the workshop. It is free
T2+ to enter the store any other day of the week so if they aren't
T2+ interested in Corseting they can always come on another day. We are
T2+ not changing our policy sorry about that. They may have to pay $5.00
T2+ to get in but it comes off the purchase of anything and everything
T2+ will be 20% off that day.

T1+ But we warned that to one side of us is Red Shoes and several people
T1+ have reported the management to not like women of any gender and to
T1+ enter with caution and pride.

A+ I've heard good things and bad things about Red Shoes. I've never
A+ been there myself (I'm more the Payless/Famous Footwear type myself),
A+ and it's one place I want to personally visit just to see what it's
A+ like myself. (I usually expect getting sent to LV 1-2 times each year
A+ on business, but lately this has not happened.) I've heard that yes,
A+ they have a good stock and their prices are not bad. However, I've
A+ heard the service is unattentive, even rude, but that this degree of
A+ service applies to all, not just TG's.

T2+ Don't get me wrong, Red Shoes has great merchandise and size
T2+ selection they just can be pretty harsh and if anyone is sensitive
T2+ to rudeness they may want to be aware that they are not all that
T2+ friendly.

T1+ If there is anyway we can help sponsor the show (be asured we will
T1+ tell all our egroups) please let us know.

A+ Best thing is to please let us know details ASAP. Most of Saturday
A+ evening is wide open, and it will most likely be the first serious
A+ proposal that comes in that gets that timeslot.

T2+ The show will for sure be doors at 8:00 dinner at 9:00 and wrapped
T2+ up by midnight or a little sooner if people really want to go to
T2+ Rocky Horror. After the show the room will become a dance club so
T2+ the evening doesn't have to end. We are serious we just wanted to
T2+ work with you as much as we can because we think it could benefit us
T2+ both and make for a wildly fun and entertaining evening.

T1+ Again we applaud and encourage your bravery for encouraging people
T1+ to trust in their feelings and live out their true selves and or
T1+ fantasies. For that we hold something in common, a whole lotta love.

T1+ Thanks, Tushell. :)

A+ Please let us know about these items as soon as you can.

Sorry to hear that. :(

Hopefully things will turn out better between now and then. I've taken
air tours off the schedule for now. If things change, let us know and
they can be put back on.

Now, we have the Bellagio lunch still on the schedule, which in the past
has followed the air tours. Do you want to keep that one on the schedule

Lots of spam is relayed via innocent machines hosted by cable and DSL
providers, one of which is Comcast. It's amazing how many systems are
out there on cable and DSL systems that have absolutely no protection
against abuse at all. All of the big domestic providers will kill a
notorious spammer, but unfortunately the hijacked machines just keep
popping up like weeds.

Comments, ladies? Gentlemen? Golfers?

If I understand the very preliminary plans this year, the show will be
early evening and the limo tour will be earlier than in years before,
so you might not have nearly as much fallout as before if you keep it
Friday. However, if you want it Thursday, there's plenty of time to
make that decision.

So, golfers, let's hear some chatter! :)

If you run into any significant roadblocks with the David Saxe people,

Unfortunately without a sugar(daddy/mommy), one limitation of our
zero-budget model is that we do not have front money for things like
this.

One thing I would like to do in the near future is to feature this
activity in one of the general mailings. If you could send in (as soon
as you can, no big hurry) 1-2 paragraphs summarizing what it is you will

Well, there's no such thing as an "empty afternoon" this year at DLV. :)

However, I was planning a shopping thing for Friday, kind of like we
used to do, but if you would like to do a thrift shop thing, I'll
reliquish my plans. Please let us know. If you do move golf to Thursday
as you stated above, hopefully this would be good for your schedule too.
