>How many want to do the Flyaway Indoor Skydiving?
I think it's gonna be very hard this far out to come up with even a
rough guess on how many want to do it.
We did have one bite on the note sent out last weekend ...
+Hi,
+yes, I would like to try out the wind tunnel. I just think this would
+be in boy mode since I am sure the wigs would be flying all by
+themselves.
This shows that there is at least some interest.
>I don't have a problem with contacting them and explaining who we are,
>but I need to know how many there will be. If we can make it worth
>their while, they might be more receptive to our eccentricities. Geez,
>that's a hard word to spell.
What might be the best way to do this is to just put it on the schedule
for some afternoon (you pick one) and re-query the gang next year right
after registration opens.
Even if it's 3-4 or so people, it might be a worthwhile activity which
could be two-tracked against something else.
>I remember well how much RHPS sucked in '01, but also remember that we

If you look back at the photos of our trip to RHPS that year at:
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2001/rhps/
... it does indeed look like everybody had a good time. Look at:
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2001/rhps/d01419.jpg
... which does show a number of our people and they do look like they
are enjoying the scene.

Well, uh, if anybody wants the experience of being embalmed, or very
close to it, they could try Galiano [sic]. :)

Big question is how many of our people would like it rough for a few
minutes. :)

It hasn't been scheduled because you haven't scheduled it yet. :) Pick
an afternoon (or morning) and we'll get that in the schedule. As of this
minute and second, everything is still in a state of flux, but it will
not hurt to make a preliminary timeslot selection.
Also, I show you on record as volunteering to coordinate a Lake Mead
boat excursion. It's probably best if you pick a tentative day and time
for that as well to get the timeslot set aside for it.

To digress a bit if you will excuse me ...
It appears to me that we now have two alternatives on the plate for
Saturday evening:
1. Some kind of a yet-to-be-defined Big Bang sendoff.
2. Show, after HH and dinner, followed by something with Quality Social
Time<tm>.
IMAO, the show for Saturday, if we go that route, should be
reasonably-priced and should have a broad appeal (no pun intended)
to our group, going for maximum turnout.
I've mentioned "V" as a possibility for this, and somebody a while back
said that Kenny Kerr was making noises about opening again in Las Vegas,
which may be a possibilty.
Leah mentioned Zumanity (Zoomanity?) and that's also a possibility.
It does feature a DQ as the MC. It is, however, a Cirque Du $oleil
production and those tend to be $pendy. That may be better as a
candidate for Aiko's Big Big show.
Personally, I think the evening we had last year on Saturday at San Remo
worked out quite well, with HH, dinner, show, and QST all together.
Back in 2001 and 2002, the show itself worked out, but the QST after
did not.
If we do go the show route, I think it's important to have the QST in
there after.
For now, I do think we need to discuss and decide which Saturday track
we want to follow, the Big Bang track, or the Show track.

>I agree Let's keep High Tea Sunday afternoon at a High Tea type locale.
As we know, Sunday may or may not happen this year.
For maximum turnout at the High Tea, I suggest that you keep it
scheduled for Thursday (or another weekday as discussed) since if we
do extend to Sunday, it will be either the preceeding Sunday, (translated:
low turnout) or the following Sunday, which is Mothers Day (again,
translated: low turnout).

RHPS goings-on:
From the alt.cult-movies.rocky-horror newsfroup:
+Divine Decadence is adding a second venue to its weekly shows. Sci-Fi
+Center continues on Saturdays at Midnight and Flex in association with
+Divine Decadence and Sci-Fi Center will be showing the movie on Fridays
+at Midnight. For both addresses check out www.divinedecadence.org.
+Flex is an alternative bar so 21 and over only. The actual location
+has a stage and separate entrance and seating area.
+Joe Tabor
+www.divinedecadence.org
This does give us an option, if this is still running, to offer RHPS on
Friday, as a second track option to our traditional Dance Night (if that
should happen again), following the Annual Mixer.
The conversation in the newsfroup does not mention the actual location,
but reading between the lines it is also not real 35mm but video of
some kind.
Anybody local to Las Vegas, or regular at Flex have any more info on
this? I assume Flex is co-sponsoring this in the hope of getting the
pre-RHPS and post-RHPS bar business from those who are 21 or over.
I'll try to keep on top of the developments over the next several
months.

A few things we do have to consider when planning any day or evening
are such things as transportation (avoiding those dreaded "moves" or
at least keeping them tolerable) and outfit changes. I agree that going
from show to limo is not only a good option since the two just seem to
work well together, but the customary dress for both of them is the
same, avoiding any compromise on outfits, or a break for changing, with
its associated fallout.
We also have to consider activities happening prior to and just after
what's being planned. We want to be careful about overloading people or
burning them out, getting them too tipsy too early in the day, or
spoiling appetites.

Now is the time when it's fine to shuffle activities around to see
how things fit.
Mindy? Golfers? Are you married to Friday for golf, or would Thursday
(or Wednesday or Tuesday) work fine for golf?
>That leaves the High Tea as the only activity that is kinda left in

My only concern about having High Tea on Friday afternoon is that it
might spoil the turnout for HH and dinner that evening. I want to see
us try to get the absolute maximum turnout for our Friday evening and
Saturday activities.
>Anyway, that’s my $.02
And worth every penny. :)

Golf and weekend timing:
Kate writes:
>What time does the golf traditionally go? If it is early morning is

I'm not a golfer, but IIRC, it's always started early to mid morning
and has been an all-day activity for those who do it.
Yes, it would probably work, timewise, on Thursday. It's really up to
Mindy and the other golfers as to whether they want to move it to
Thursday.
>eg:-Thurs am=Golf. Thurs night= Limo Tour.
>Fri=Vendors day/Shopping etc'. Fri night=Carluccio's and Goodtimes.
>Sat= Afternoon Garden Party. Sat Night=Big Bang production show at
>Venetian or The Showgirls of Magic at San Remo.
>Sun= High Tea and evening wind down and social time at Local Club or
>Lounge. This would give us 3 straight days with high profile nights
>on the town and a nice slow down day to cap off the week.
>Just another thought to throw out there. What think you ladies?
If the golfers don't want to move golf to Thursday, I don't see any
reason a show-limo combination would not work on Wednesday and some
less prominent evening activities would then go Thursday evening.
Sunday is still up in the air, and will be for some time. The High Tea
fans may have to decide, in the future, which is more important, having
it on Sunday with a lower turnout, just for the sake of having it on
Sunday, or having it on Thursday as planned with a much better turnout.
