Michelle J: If you can read this, your e-mail is bouncing. If anybody is
in contact with her, please tell her so, as if she does not know
already. :)
. . . . .

Gina: Are you still with us?
. . . . .

I think we can safely say that from now until DLV the DLVORG list will
go out as needed. There are just too many things going on for it to be
practical to hold it for a weekly or biweekly mailing.
. . . . .

Latest numbers:

Registrations: 108 SO's: 23 Total: 131
Reconfirmed: 83 SO's: 19: Total: 102
First notice pending: 2
First notice outstanding: 5
Second notice outstanding: 18
Cancellations: 2

Jena: I should have an initial list of names for tags around the end of
next week. You can probably expect two smaller lists for those who
register/reconfirm between then and DLV.
. . . . .

Since we've received nothing that in any way shows that Sasha's will be
around next month (I'm assuming that the Sasha fans would have spoken by
now if there was something to speak of), I think we need to look at
Ginger's proposal seriously, as well as those Cat has made and will make
over the next several days.

If anybody wants to throw a suggestion in the hat, please do so.

Let's say that if we do not have a consensus on what to do by next
Wednesday, the 26th, we call for votes on the issue.

Meanwhile, on other business ...

Yet another laundry list:

First and foremost, if any of you are aware of anything that's in an
unknown state, or any loose ends hanging, or anything undone or
undecided, please send it in so we can include it.

Otherwise ...

1. There was a discussion of whether our T* taxi driver was still
around, but I haven't heard a conclusion.

+Taryn, of Ace Cab Company, is a member of our community. Phone number
+is 702-736-8444. Her cab number is 2501. Her current schedule is 6 am
+to 4 pm and she is off of Sunday and Wednesday.

Could somebody local please check to see if this information is current?
Otherwise we should kill it from the LFM.

2. We said the packages shipped to the two boutiques could be picked
up during normal business hours. Could somebody please confirm the
current business hours and days of the two shops? I would hate to
see somebody arrive and attempt to pick up on a closed day and have
to spend that day in boymode. :)

3. Discounts and promotions. I'm making this list up now. Am I correct
that both boutiques will be offering a discount to DLV people?

Also, Mindy, is the Dress Barn discount good this year as well?

Any others?

4. Tina, any changes you want to make on the drinking tips at
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/fdrinking.html

5. Mindy. Desert Rose again? What time should be on the schedule?

6. Mindy, location, time, and how much $$$ for the High Tea?

7. Leah, have you visited with Vegas Girl Wigs yet? Anything interesting
going on there WRT VGW and DLV?

I wonder if he was over at Flex then, because I seem to recall some
people complaining about non-service over there one time.

Cali-Mex. I'm sure the double-meaning of the name was quite intentional.

Thanks, Cat. Please let us know what you find out. IMAO, $20+ for entree
and sides, $40+ including drink and tip, is not bad. As always, this and
everything will be optional, so if there's a demand for something
cheaper, Tina can borrow the van and take another group of our people
over to Fatburger. :)

Thanks, Cat. Please let us know what you find out on your other place
as soon as you can.

My personal HRC/HRH comments:

I've been to the Hard Rock Casino many times to play, both modes at
times. I liked it better when they had (more) full-pay VP, but it's
still fun and a great place to people-watch. I've eaten in Mr Lucky's
coffee shop, both modes, but never in the other restaurants there. I
would prefer the music to be equalized to have a bit more sock, but I
do understand why they keep it midrangey.

I've been to the Hard Rock Cafe in Las vegas for a drink once. I've
eaten in other HRC's at times. Food is good, portions are huge, and each
one has interesting paraphernalia. IMAO, they are just a wee bit pushy
on appetizers and desserts. The BBQ pork sandwich will, for example,
feed two, so for me, anyway, those two are not required. :) However,
the food is consistently good.

Margeth and I went to the HRCafe briefly during DLV 1997. Margeth at
the time ran a music store, so she wanted to see the various items at
both the HRCafe and the HRCasino. We stopped in the HRCafe, sat down at
the bar, had maybe 1-2 drinks, and just shot the sh^H^Hbull. I don't
remember getting as much as a sideways glance.

After the HRCafe, we walked over to the HRCasino, looked at the various
esoterica, and I remember shopping in the gift shop. I don't remember
even a funny look.

The only negative time I've had at the HRCasino is when a group of us
went there to Mr Lucky's very late one nite during DLV 1999. We had been
at the various bars in the Triangle district, and we were hungry. The
service was slow and inattentive, but I don't really remember the food
as being notably good or bad. I've been to Mr Lucky's at other times and
it's always been good food and service. I have a feeling that anybody in
there at that one time would have received equal and nondiscriminatory
cruddy service. I don't remember any dirty looks or anything that time,
but we had been clubbing and there were some revealing outfits, so I'm
sure some of the group did attract attention.

In late 2001 when I was in LV on business, some of the local people told
me that HRCasino had taken a quite anti-t* stance. I went there the next
afternoon and from my observation it was business as usual. I really have
not heard much at all since then, regarding the HRCasino and their
attitude.

Anyway, as I read the comments from Cat, Monique, and the rest, my hunch
is that the HRCafe would be a better choice than the HRCasino (where in
there would we dine?) for our group. I know they are both owned by the
same parent company, but I was told (maybe by one of our people) that
the HRCafe in LV and the HRCasino are managed separately, so their sales
office(s) may not be able to offer both, at least the same people may
not be able to.

The HRCafe is mainstream enough so our out-and-about people will not get
claustrophobia, and it should be secluded enough for the newly-out. They
offer a choice (choice is a Good Thing<tm>) and it does not reek of yet
another Rubber Chicken Banquet. (Meatloaf again?????)

Cat, specifically where in the HRCasino were you thinking for our group?
Pink Taco? Lucky's? Mortoni's?

Credit where credit is due:

In the LFM, I'm planning to add a section giving credit for those who
have organized our nontrivial activities. I'm sure there is at least
one oversight or omission, and please trust me, I'm not intentionally
leaving anybody out. I want to prevent just that.

Please take a look at these. If there's anything missing or incorrect,
please let me know.

HRConfusion maybe:

Ok, you're talking about the same time I was above, at Mr Lucky's. I
agree that the service that time sucked.

Actually, to say it sucked was to compliment it.

I've been there since and received good service.

I am, however, suggesting the HRCafe and not the HRCasino for this for
various reasons.

Yes, shorting your sisters (and brothers) on a shared check is majorly
uncool.

I haven't been to HRCafe lately or in the evening, so I have not
observed this, but I'm sure it's a similar situation to that which we
encountered in 2000 when our group passed by a group of horny males on
line for a T&A show at the Riviera.

I'm sure HRCafe is not going to let their paying customers get hassled
by others.

>Or am I just being silly and just going off the deep end about this...

I think it's a valid concern.

>for HM (I think I'm right in saying this) is across on the other side?

I would guess that the avowedly-het males probably don't frequent HM's
prior to the strip club. :)

I don't think HRCafe will risk an incident. I'm sure that if any people
present get out of line, they will take care of it.

Yes, I remember the dress code for the MFB said that people in street
clothes would be turned away. Minimum dress for that was tux/gown with
costumes being preferred. Hey (you who are local) did that thing ever
get off the ground?

>When they showed the inside of HRC, many looked as though they were TG,
>TS, CD, etc. It looked like a wild party.

Yes and yes I'm sure. :)
