Latest Laundry list:
Wow, 47 days and counting! 105 people on the roster and counting!
Big outstanding item is that there are still some VERY familiar names
missing from the registration list. >>HINT<< :) :)
I would like to ask everybody to please carefully look over the
schedule, both summary and detail, and look for omissions and things
that are just plain wrong. I've added times for a number of activities
and in some cases I guessed or assumed. In a few cases I added notes to
the laundry list below.
I'm continuing to assemble the final documents. A number of these
items have to do with the final schedule, directions, etc. ...
. Mindy. Which golf course and what time? Any plans yet?
. Aiko. Do you want to have a planned rendezvous/assembly point for the
trip to Area 51? Do you want to have a designated time for this?
. Photos. Tina, are you still up to coordinating large/small group
photos at the Annual Mixer? I am gonna try to arrange for a group photo
following Showgirls Of Magic out in the lobby with the cast. Comments?
. According to Aiko, the Jubilee show gets out at 9:05pm +/- 2 minutes.
What should we announce for limo pickup times for the non-showgoers
at Bally's and HM's? Would 9:15 at Bally's and 9:30 at HM work (IMAO,
pushing it), or would something like 9:30 at Bally's and 9:45 at HM
be more realistic?
. Monique, can you please check the list of beverage selections at
http://www.geekbabe.com/cgi-bin/dlv/dlvconf.cgi?12345-67890 and see
if anything is missing or in error.
. Leah (I think you have this one), how much will the Wednesday
dinner/show at Sasha's cost? Is there a cover for the show, or is
it just pay for meal, determined by menu selection?
. Mindy, location, time, and how much $$$ for the High Tea? I have
Thursday down for the cutoff for cancellations. Is this correct?
. Open houses. I have the times of 1:00pm thru 4:00pm down for both the
GB and HW open house sessions. Is this correct?
. Friday afternoon activity for those not doing golf. Ideas?
. Bowling. Tony, is this a go or a no-go? If it's a go, we need a day and
approximate time so we can get you a rough headcount.
. Religious services. Leah?

Badges and limo:

The discussion list isn't meant to take replies, except to the list
itself, as you found out. If you want to send in org items, it's best to
address them to dlvorg@geekbabe.com, but I try to catch stray items and
redirect them as needed. (One exception to this is the golf list, what
comes in goes right out, until the spammers discover it, that is.)

Nobody has come out in favor of the no alcohol limo, so I guess that
idea kinda died a natural death. The one Mormon I know who was with us
last year did not appear to object to the lack of a no alcohol limo. :)

South side of the San Remo surface parking lot is probably just as good
as anything for this. If this is what you wanna do, I'll use this as the
rendezvous place for the Sunday side trip as well, for consistency.
What I'll always do when I have to do something where we meet in a
parking lot is to park my vehicle very conspicuously near the incoming
traffic flow with a large "DLV" sign in the window that faces the
incoming traffic. I'll also make a circle of the parking lot as we
leave to look for anybody who's sitting in a car and perhaps waiting
for somebody.
>10am-11am-12pm? I would like to make this as easy as possible for any

This is really your call, and kind of a balancing act. The later you go,
the more people you will likely get, but the later you go you will lose
people who don't want to miss out on the goings-on at Hidden Woman that
afternoon. 11:00 may be a good middle ground.

Brunch with or without Tina:
Monique writes:

What I think Tina envisions is very simple, no sign-up, just show up,
with no formality at all, and certainly no expectation for anybody to
attend.
>I think you'll get better turnout after the evening has ended at the

If there's to be one at night in the Sahara coffee shop, I would like
to see it be in addition to, not in place of the one Tina has planned.
>Since I'm not staying at the Sahara this year, I'll miss those 3am
>breakfasts with ya'll, however, if ya'll get bored, some over to the
>San Remo with the 8 of the DLV sisters that will be having a 3am
>breakfast there!
Or ... You can come over to your old stomping ground at the Sahara
and have breakfast with the gang. :)
One suggestion I might make to Tina is what I used to do at the Sahara
buffet for the dinners we previously had there is to take a "DLV" sign
and either fold it into a table tent or stick it in the ring of the
condiment holder. That way the group is obvious to those who are
looking.
See http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/d2k0305.jpg (and notice Densie being
a smartass. :)

SO Happy Hour:

Ok, thanks. I'll get that in the schedule and on the sign-up page.
LOL. With a SO Happy Hour at 4 and our regular Happy Hour at 5, we're
gonna have some rather happy SO's that evening. :)

Ok, I will set this to 100, anticipating a few no-shows.

FRS refers to Family Radio Service, which is the FCC's designation for
the unlicenced lower-power casual-use transceivers. FRS shares (some?)
frequencies with GMRS, which is a higher power licensed service.
ObTrivia: GMRS was originally known as what? :)
>As far as what the specific frequencies numbers are, I can check the

IIRC, there are 14 frequencies available for FRS, but not all units use
all.

Or 7-11 for Margeth. {ducking} :)
I see these on sale every so often, and if/when I do, I'll plan to pick
up a couple. I've seen these at Target' and stores like that.

IIRC, the only places where there are any restrictions on communications
devices in casinos are in the sports book areas. I've used the cell phone
countless times in the slot areas and have never been confronted about
it.
