This mailing is fairly short this week due to the fact that not much has
come in. It's been the slowest week since DLV 2002, and I'm assuming
mostly due to the after-holiday crunch that's keeping people
preoccupied. Queries and list subscriptions have been slow lately
too, average of less than one per day over the past week or so.
Thanks to everybody who responded to the Big Sister request. There will
be more coming in, so those who were not matched up will most certainly
be shortly.
Registrations continue to trickle in. Body count is now up to 36, almost
all returnees. Not even half way thru January, and we've got more than
we had total at DLV 1999. :)
Due to the fact that we already have many of our bases covered, not many
items are really pressing as of this time.
The only thing that sticks out in my mind as something we need to look
at is the shuttle van situation. Although this could be scheduled at a
fairly short notice, it would be nice to let the Teeming Millions know
if it will be happening or not, so they can make plans.
Again, if this is to happen, one or more of us are gonna have to adopt
this, just like any other activity, and make it happen. More comments (I
think only one this week) appear below.

I *know* we will have over 15. I would say there's a good chance we will
have over 49 want to attend. We had 40-some at the LaFemme show last
year. We won't know for sure until shortly before DLV, but ...

No apology necessary, it's not your fault. I know everybody appreciates
your effort.

I'm not at all surprised the booth seats are on hold by the casino, as
the prime booth seats are customarily reserved for the high rollers.

I agree. I think this one is gonna work out quite well. The show is
also a bit more mainstream than LaFemme, so I think there will be a
higher turnout and they will like it better.

Awful Restroom Law update:
FYI, no major impact to us ...
I believe I have stumbled upon what may be the origin of that recurring
rumor about the Awful Restroom Law in Las Vegas.
Buried deep within the Clark County administrative code dealing with
Parks and Recreation, use of parks, there is one item that prohibits
males over the age of 8 from entering or loitering in the vicinity of
womens facilities in public parks.
I mentioned this to my attorney last weekend, off the clock, so this is
not "legal advice", (he knows who we are and what DLV is) and he agrees
that this has minimal impact, if any, on DLV. He said this was intended
to be used in the case of molesters.
Bottom line: Only applies to facilities in public parks. This is most
likely the basis of this persistent rumor, however.
