Ok, looking back at the archives, she (Leona) kinda wants it from 3:00pm
on. Leah mentioned that she (Leona) would be doing her (Leah's) makeup
earlier and mentioned that people could come by early, like 1:00 if they
wanted to watch.

I do agree that 3:00 sounds a bit late for this to start, since most will
not be going directly to HM's from HW.

I'm thinking of booking a makeover with her too, for the blonde night. I
may wanna try to get this done before the great masses arive.

Reading between the lines, I don't think she is gonna scream if people
show up earlier, and, we do usually have a fashionably late crowd. :)

>>Activity Name : Dinner and Welcome Celebration

Sounds good to me. I'll put that on the list.

The only reason we may need a time here would be for the few who go there
but are not gonna do HM's. Let's put 10:00pm in there for those who need
it.

I know that *I* can get from Luna to Goodtimes in about 5-7 minutes! :)

I also know that most of our people will probably arrive at Goodtimes
between 8 and 9, assuming we list the start time as 7:30. :)

If they start seating at 6, serving by 6:30, we'll have the din-din
gang down there before the non-din-din people arrive in any quantity.

I think we still have a couple iterations of discussion before we can

I see two possible scenarios for Saturday evening:

1. Do the earlier show. This requires cutting afternoon activities off at
roughly 3:00pm. Gives more time after show. As has been mentioned, the
Metamorphosis thing will probably not get going until after 11. Those not
going to Metamorphosis could do Luna, Triangle clubs, Comm Center clubs,
whatever. With this scenario, I see a danger of those who do the makeup
thing at GB getting into a time crunch and missing the show.

2. Do the later show. Afternoon activities don't have to be cut short.
Show will let out about the time things are starting to get going at the
clubs and Metamorphosis.

Here's what I might suggest, examining the options above and their side
effects:

Do the later (10:00pm) La Cage show. Afterwards have two tracks, first
being bar/clus tour. We could use Luna as the rendezvous point, or use
some other place, that's relatively easy to change. Second track would
be the Metamorphosis fantasy ball thing.

Yes, I plan on leading the group directly here from VOF. Those who don't
do that can meet us there. I assume those who do {tut-tut} High Tea will
be so stuffed with crumpets (whatever the heck a crumpet is, anyway)
that they will not be going here.

SOLID. Time?

Uh, let's say 7:30. Those who want to can be fashionably late.

Crowds and flying:

Oh really? I can tell a very amusing story about one suggestion that for
our second year, we don't meet in Las Vegas but go to Esprit instead.

Of course that didn't ever happen. :)

>Also, I just was at Gold Rush, and I was told of a girl being detained

I believe this. With today's climate, we do not wanna test the system. I
think maybe a note in the list as the time approaches may be in order,
just suggesting (very strongly) that people not attempt flying in a mode
that does not match a legal ID they are carrying.

Luna Review:

Tina sends this from the current online version oif the LV Bugle:

+LUNA:

+New Moon Rising on Las Vegas Dining

+Luna, like its predecessor Café Luna, has great food. And well it
+should with award-winning Chef Bryan Cromwell orchestrating the kitchen
+operation. Luna is still located at 4647 Paradise Rd., next to the
+Icon, Video West and the Gipsy, and across the street from Get Booked,
+The Buffalo and Free Zone.

+But similarities with the restaurant's prior incarnation end there.
+Luna has incorporated the highly successful "Dining With the Divas"
+show into its weekend offerings. A "Zebra Piano" was brought in and
+pianist Reggie will be accompanying singer Maggi Albisani Sundays
+through Wednesdays. Even the background music has been energized to
+prepare the audience for the rollicking entertainment of the Divas.

+As expected, the dining room was packed on Valentine's Day evening,
+Luna's opening night. The following Saturday, when things might have
+been expected to die down, there was a remarkable crowd for dinner and
+show.

+If Chef Bryan's name sounds familiar, it should be noted he's also
+owner of Cobalt Lounge and has operated his own successful catering
+firm in Las Vegas. An American Culinary Federation (ACF) member who
+attended the Culinary Institute of America, the Chef certainly knows
+his way around fine food. Chef Bryan participated in the apprenticeship
+program of the ACF.

+Luna's menu is pleasantly balanced with a selection of up-scale
+appetizers, very reasonably priced salads, and a diverse choice of
+entrées and tempting desserts.

+Chef Bryan's treatment of Portabella mushrooms topped with tomatoes and
+a blend of cheeses is an interesting and delicious appetizer, but the
+button mushrooms stuffed with seasoned crab meat, and broiled in garlic
+butter are sublime. Chef Bryan says the Stuffed Mushroom Caps rank
+right along side the Artichoke Spinach Dip as the most popular
+appetizers.

+He names the Chicken Cordon Gold (a baked chicken breast, stuffed with
+ham and Swiss cheese, topped with creamy Swiss sauce) and the Chicken
+Marsala as the favorite entrées. The tender and tasty Tournedoes of
+Beef and New York Steak are perfection. One can understand why those
+two items are not topping the list only after tasting the Chicken
+Marsala (grilled breast of chicken, topped with a mushroom Marsala
+demi-glace). The sauce is a wonderfully rich and robust accompaniment
+to the tender and juicy breast. The Chef explained the Orange Ruffy
+with Dijon Caper Sauce is in a close third place.

+With the multitude of tasks involved in opening a restaurant, it is
+understandable that the desert menu suffered a bit in the first few
+days. That situation has been remedied. Chef Bryan proudly explains
+there will now be a "large rotation" of culinary treasures with which
+to end a meal. At press time, those selections included
+Chocolate-Dipped Tuxedo-Striped Strawberries, Frozen Orange Soufflé,
+Raspberry Chocolate Torte, Crème Brûlée, Kahlua Vanilla Bavarian Cream
+and Almond Cheesecake. Next week will probably see other equally
+tempting offerings.

+The outdoor patio is a refreshing change of pace. Owner Alex Villasuesa
+installed a white picket fence, and there are heaters for those chilly
+Las Vegas Spring evenings. With summer just around the corner,
+Villasuesa is prepared to install the already purchased misting system.

+Sunday Champagne Brunch is sure to become a hit indoors or out. Entrées
+include Eggs Benedict, Prime Rib, a popular Breakfast Quiche, French
+Toast cut from French baguettes and stuffed with raspberry preserves,
+something hard to find in Las Vegas - Maryland-style Crab Cakes, and
+Omelettes which you build yourself. The entrées are accompanied by your
+choice of two side dishes and a couple of glasses of bubbly. The menu
+will change on a regular basis, so expect to find new dishes popping up
+regularly. The brunch carries a reasonable tariff of just $12.95 and is
+served each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

>DINING WITH THE DIVAS AT LUNA - Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday the
>divas from Luna entertain with a new show every week. Pictured from left
>are: Sasha Renée, Raymond Alexander and Rudalenska. Bugle Photo

(Photo appears at http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/Luna1c.jpg)

+Weekends really do come alive at Luna with performances of "Dining With
+the Divas" every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.

+In 1999 Miss Raymond Alexander brought "Dining With the Divas" to Las
+Vegas from Florida, where she conceived the production 11 years ago,
+The show debuted at the late, lamented Keys Piano Bar, where it enjoyed
+a highly successful run. Miss Alexander hosted Follies La Cage in
+Florida for eight years as Bette Midler and Judy Garland.

+Performing with Raymond Alexander are Rudalenska (who is so well known
+all over town, it seems pointless to waste words describing her
+performance just one will do: 'superb') and elegant, sexy, energetic,
+talented Sasha Renée. A seasoned professional originally from Virginia,
+Renée is a relative newcomer to Las Vegas having moved here about a
+year ago.

+The show is lively and entertaining. Alexander's impression of "Mama
+Alexander" had the audience "rolling in the aisles".

+"'Dining with the Divas' is the only dinner show in town, other than
+the Excaliber {sic} show," says Villasuesa.. And Luna's show is
+different each night. The talented cast has much experience and does
+new material as well as tried and true numbers from their vast and
+diverse repertoires.

+The new Luna has lots to offer. Community support of this unique dining
+experience will assure it stays around to become another Las Vegas
+institution. Visit Luna at 4647 Paradise Road nightly from 6 p.m. to
+midnight.

+A final caveat to anyone planning to visit Luna's: Don't Pet the Piano.
