Comments, ladies? I'm tending to think that listing it on the schedule
would be a good thing, tracked against a club tour or whatever else we
wanna do late Saturday.
>but we should stress the dress code and that RHPS style attire is

We might wanna do a cut-paste of the exact dress code. I seem to recall
that evening gowns (most t-girls have at least ONE of them) are within
the code. I remember they say to NOT show up in yuppie-wear. :)
>I will have my scissors handy to put a nice slit up the skirt of anyone

If it's in a casino, I'm sure the people will see things farther out
than any in our group would do. :)
>Did someone say photo ops?????
Uh, I also remember cameras were prohibited at the party.

>you can forward this to monique..
Well, since Monique reads this list ...
>ticks are not on sale yet and i am in
>contact with the la feme ticket office re holding a block of seats.. it
>may be doable but with a deadline.
Please keep in mind that we agreed that we would simply purchase tickets
morning of show for best available seats at the time. If they are
willing to hold a block of seats until that morning, it will work out
fine. If they want an earlier deadline, it may not.
Any change from this plan will have to be a group decision (that's us,
gang) with Monique's approval, since she is the hostess for this one.
Everybody here (when we discussed it) was in agreement that we did not
wanna schlep money in advance for this, for both convenience and turnout
reasons.
>there is a strict dress code.. business dress or better no exceptions.

I don't think we will have any problem here. It's very easy to get them
to dress *up*. :)

Ok, we will get you a list as soon as activity sign-ups begin.

>>/me offends the channel by doing her nails in public. :) :) :) :)

Not really. I was making a snide reference to a bit of DLV history where
one of the others flamed me royally for touching up my nails while
waiting for the show to start and a catty comment I kept making about
it on IRC (chat).
>>IANAL, but IIRC, in that part of Clark County, a place cannot be totally

Sorry. I kinda did that out of habit.
IANAL = I Am Not A Lawyer.
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.
The Jargon File (http://www.drbbs.com/jsw/jargon/) has definitions for
all kinds of geekoid slang if a translation is ever needed. :)

Hey, I can use this one to test the screens. :)

I tend to cut people a lot of slack, especially those who are new and
are feeling uneasy. I do think that if possible, we should welcome those
who plan to attend at the last minute. I don't think anybody at DLV is
gonna stand at the door to Goodtimes and say "you're not on the list,
g'bye" or anything.
However, for things where space is limited, like our swim party or
slumber party, it's a no-brainer. Those who sign up in advance get
priority over those who do not. First come, first served, when ya
snooze, ya lose.
Hopefully we will not need limits. I just wanna be sure that if we
have cases where demand exceeds supply, which I think is possible but
not probable this year, we are ready for it. I don't wanna spoil my
own vacation with a major "Oh Sh*t" situation.

Things like be sure you have a hotel reservation, contact info for the
group, printed out the map, phoned in a reservation for La Cage, etc.
>Have we changed our "It's a vacation, not a convention" mantra?
Nope, not at all. Notice that on the headcount list there is no listing
for "rubber chicken banquet". :)
>>>P.S. OK, I'll bite. What's the deal on how you always spell cow-orker?

We can get you one of those t-shirts that has a picture of a fancy gown
on the front of it. :)

person we use for such things as testing our HR system. It's thrown
people a few times. :)

Gallery and notices:
>Gallery works and looks fine.
Thanks. :)
Everybody else *does* know what we are talking about, right? :) :)
I see that Tina has not yet noticed the "Tina will buy a drink for
the first ..." part yet. :)
>I notice on the main DLV page that you still have the message: "In
>regards, to recent events, DLV will happen as scheduled."
>Now, I know that you are referring to 9/11 here, but I wonder if it
>is confusing now so far after the fact. Events aren't being cancelled

Yeah, probably so. I guess it should be removed, huh?
>I wonder if a new person seeing that message for the first time might
>think that it was instead a reference to some sort of internal political
>split thing, or something else equally implausible.
I don't know, but I agree with you that it's time for it to be retired.
Consider it nuked. A note referring to "tragic events" is still in the
FAQ. (knocking on wood) I sure hope we won't have any more "recent
events" of that type for a long time.
And since you brought up the subject <semi grin> I would like to express
my appreciation toward everybody here for being one of the most sane,
easy-going, and non-political groups I have ever seen. This group is an
absolute pleasure to work with, and thanks go to everybody for helping
to keep it this way.
In the t* community, such an agreeable group is often the exception and
not the rule. I think this is one of the reasons that DLV has been as
successful as it has been, and has affected lives as it has done.

>If you think this idea would be appreciated by the group, could you let
>me know how many attendees and how many prizes..golf..karaoke..?
Yes, I think this would be welcome and appreciated, both samples for the
people in general, and for prizes.
As far as numbers, it's very hard to say. As of this time we're
expecting a total of 70-100 people, but no single activity will have all
of them.
Mindy is coordinating the golf outing, and has asked for prize donations.
I'm copying this note to our organizers list, so she and the others will
see it.
We did not plan on prizes for Karaoke, since we will be attending with a
general audience, but there's the possibility of simply awarding a
random prize to any of our people who put on a good show. :)
>And if you decide to go ahead with the idea I would need a place to send
>the products in advance.
One of the local merchants has agreed to receive packages for our people.
This would probably be the best way. We'll be sending out the address and
contact information around the first of April. Please remind me if you
don't get this.
>One question on DLV, I would like to make sure I am able to attend
>certain shows and outings that require registration and I just want to
>make sure whether or not it is necessary to register or pay for any
>shows or trips in advance or whether it is necessary to get on a list
>for any event that may have limited capacity.
We'll be sending out a show-of-hands request for each activity to
everybody who has registered shortly after the first of April. This will
be sure you are counted.
As for shows, for the Thursday LaFemme show, we will be collecting money
for this Wednesday evening and our hostess (Monique) will purchase the
tickets for best available seats on Thursday when the box office opens.
For La Cage on Saturday, everybody will have to phone in a reservation
to the Riviera box office. DON'T DO THIS YET as we are uncertain at this
time whether we will be attending the 7:00 or the 10:00 show.
>Many hanks, let me have your thoughts and I look forward to seeing you
>in Las Vegas.
You're very welcome, and thank you for the offer of prizes and samples.
