Activities and hoards:

>Hello from LeeAnna. Just wanted to put my $.01999 into this "Hoard Of
>Girls" (late registrants) dilemma. (Can't you see the Hoard coming
>over the hill like a scene from Braveheart... oh, I forgot, no blue eye
>makeup... giggle)

>I cannot see room for more than 30 max at the slumber party do to space
>limitations! I think there are many on this part of the list that
>want to be there and have been here long before the late registrants...
>how do we draw the line???

This is easy. You as the coordinator of that activity set the max number
you think it can handle. Then it's first come, first served. When we
ask for a show-of-hands for a count of who is planning on doing those
activities that need a count, first 30 (or whatever number you finally
decide on) get on the "A list".

Actually, you will get a list of those who check the box for your
activity, and the date/time they checked it, so you can see easily who
is above and below the cutoff. If some on the A side of the list don't
show, you can move some from the B side up.

>If it isn't to early I want to put my name on the list for the Thursday
>Pool Party :+) (As LeeAnna walks into the party, fingers point, hushed
>conversations, "Oh look, they make bikinis in THAT size now".....LOL)

Mindy can make a note now if she wants, but that is one activity I will
add to the list of questions for the show-of-hands screen. Actually, we
could use you as the guinea pig to test the screen out if you wish.

Try the url: (Please, only LeeAnna try this ... :)

http://www.geekbabe.com/cgi-bin/dlv/dlvconf.cgi?1009736473-10712

Fill out the screen and you can be first on the list we give to Mindy.

It might be a good idea for everybody who is in charge of various
activities to be thinking of the maximum number of people it can handle.
We will then be able to see if we're within limits as the counts start
coming in. I'm planning on starting the count process around the first
of April.

Do we want to maybe think of starting it earlier? Comments?

Well, gang, there you have it. It looks like our people will be welcome
at the $15 rate with little hoop-jumping.

What do we wanna do? I see two options. One is to put it on the schedule
as a multitrack item for after the show on Saturday. The other is to
simply mention it in the text and let the people who want to do it do
it.

Comments?

Very true. It is very cozy. Kinda reminds me of Southwest Airlines. :)

No, I don't remember any booths in Frank's showroom at all. (Ladies?) I
remember two groups of small tables, those upfront for the people paying
the extra so many $$$ for VIP seating, and those back behind for the
Great Unwashed Masses. In 1998(?) we were running a bit late, and even
though we had paid for VIP tickets, we were at the very back of the VIP
area, just in front of the non-VIP area.

Usually it's not too difficult to make her buy, though. :) :) :)

That is correct. She very graciously volunteered for that.

My hunch is, and that's what it is, a hunch, is that the hoop-jump
factor, primarily, and the cost factor, secondarily, are the ones
that have limited the turnout in years gone by.

Another factor that you did not mention but I took into consideration in
2000 is the burnout factor. I skipped the Splash show because I *knew*
that by the end of the weekend I would be totally fried and in bad need
of some down time. I just considered it a necessary evil to skip the
show that evening. I really don't know how many others skip activities
due to this.

>Now, the shoe is on the other foot (love these shoe metaphors). Someone
>else is organizing LaFemme ...

>(thank you, thank you thank you to Monique?).

Amen to that! Let's hear it, gang! {in unison} Thank You Monique! :)

>I'm excited to see how the "collect the night before and buy the
>morning of" method works out. It's so nice and simple. Has Monique
>indicated any preferences re payment, like cash only?

No, she hasn't, but I kinda assumed it would be cash only. I don't think
the box office would like to dork around with a bunch of third-party
checks and credit cards. And, IMAO, Monique should not even *think* of
taking a check and forking over her own cash to pay for this.

>I'm a little scared about LaFemme because I expect it to have more than
>the usual percentage of straight testosterone-driven males coming to
>see naked women.

I don't really see this, from the way it's been reported and promoted.
I see it definitely higher on the class scale than Crazy Girls.

Crazy Girls is a T&A show. Granted it is, itself, far up on the
class scale from, say, that clip joint downtown by the Las Vegas
Club, it is still a girlie show intended for horny males.

ObTrivia: Who was the t* girl who performed stealth in Crazy Girls?

>IT'S NOT THAT KIND OF SHOW.

I know, I agree. I don't see it being promoted as something to get
unattached convention-goers all hot and bothered.

>Yes, it has nudity (it was total nudity in Paris, don't know about
>LV),

IANAL, but IIRC, in that part of Clark County, a place cannot be totally
nude and serve booze. I'm assuming that regulation applies to legitimate
showrooms as well as to "gentlemens clubs". :)

>... but it is extremely tasteful and very sophisticated.

That's what my impression is.

>I just know that you'll love it, and ticket prices are very reasonable.

Agreed, I'm sure we will have a great time.

>Back to the trepidation: mixing t* girls and straight males can be
>combustible. So, I will be pulling up my garters and summoning courage
>to be a lady and just do it. As you said in some earlier advice, just
>ignore troublemakers.

I think the scene is set to be a totally different environment than we
saw in 2000, regarding that gaggle of has-been fratboys on line to see
Crazy Girls. I can imagine reserved seating, where groups are leisurely
shown to their seats, as opposed to a whole line looking out for
eyecandy.

I *still* say a group of 30 gg's all decked out in a similar manner
would have elicited precisely the same reaction.

And ... not to sound like a broken record (stuck CD), we're there to
have a good time, not to prove a point or make waves. Dress nicely,
but don't push it. Act as the lady you are, and you will be treated
as such.

If confronted, avoid the temptation to let brother's personality come
out. Let the Maitre'd or security handle it.

>This show will be a significant test. I hope to see everybody there.
>Let's get a big crowd and just take over!

I think we will have a good turnout. Since the $$$ will mostly be
collected at HM's and at the slumber party, I'm sure we will have
a significantly higher number than we had for the second shows in
2000 and 2001.
