It looks like everything is a go for this.
Gina, Densie, any ideas for tour route? We'll wanna put a blurb in the
regular list RSN.

We can make a general announcement in the main list, and then publish
the phone number in the mailing that goes out to the registered people
right before DLV, if you could get the number in to us for that.

Never heard of it, although I seldom venture into NLV. I do hear the
food at Jerry's Nugget is quite good, though.
Speaking of NLV, I keep hearing rumblings that they are making motions
to fix up and reopen the old Moulin Rouge. Have you heard anything about
that?
>And, in case anyone was wondering....they do advertise lap dances. <g>
Uh ... :)

Why do I get the impression I'm gonna get more than my share of this
come May? :)

+La Femme is a first for America and Las Vegas, a show direct from one
+of the hottest nightspots in the world, the original Crazy Horse in
+Paris, famous for its productions celebrating beautiful woman and the
+art of the nude since 1951. "La Femme" uses a combination of light
+effects, film, and projections to create dramatic effects: some subtle,
+some humorous and all sensual. All 12 of the international collection
+of dancers are members of the original Crazy Horse dance troupe. La
+Femme dancers are trained in ballet and perfectly integrate into
+sensuous choreography as their bodies are bathed in colored and
+textured lighting designs. For more than 50 years this French cultural
+phenomenon has drawn international and U.S. celebrities such as
+Madonna, Warren Beatty, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Sting, and
+Elvis Presley.
Thank you, Tina. :)

Group Photo Suggestions:
Tina writes:

>(Return of The Girl With Two Heads !!!!)
I tend to agree. The group shots are usually not my best poses. For my
own web page and those I show friends, I will pick the one where I think
I look the least stoned, etc.
>These big group photos are important because they are often the only
>pictures of girls wearing their finest formal and semi-formal gowns,
>particularly for the after-show pictures.
These are also very popular on the web. The big group shots do get
viewed quite a bit, and our people seem to like them.
>While we might want to keep the obligatory "everybody crowd into one
>shot", we should also do shots of groups of 8 where everyone is fully
>visible head to toe. If people "snap it up", you can do one group shot
>per 30 second interval. I volunteer to help with this using my digital
>camera.
Seems to me that most of the time wast^H^H^Htaken up during the photo
shoot was that for the volunteer to juggle cameras, with such things
as the owner of the camera having to get out of place and show the
volunteer where to push, etc. ...
Let me suggest this ... For our group shots, both small groups and
large, let's get ONE decent film camera (I'll volunteer That Damn
Camera<tm>) and ONE decent digital camera (you kinda volunteered yours)
and use those instead of taking the time to juggle 10e3 personal
cameras. We can then make the finished hi-rez images available to
everybody. We can get a volunteer who is not posing to fire 10 or so
shots on each. That should take less total time and guarantee everybody
a good shot.
Also have the volunteer check to be sure everybody is visible and
that everybody looks more or less human.
And ... I nominate Tina to be in charge of the small group shots. :)
(Do I hear a second? :)
>See our standing group shots from the 2001 limo tour to see
>how effective these small group photos can be.
Yes, assuming we don't have to crop or black out anybody. <meow!>

I think it should be a group decision (that's all of us, gang) as to
if we allow any media present at DLV and if so, on what terms.
Years ago I got into a bad no-win dispute regarding this when I was
helping run another t* gathering and it left a very bad taste in my
mouth. (Involving a clod who showed up with a camera and no press
credentials and started flashing away.)
>They were not aware of Diva and really would like to show their
>support.
Support we appreciate always. :) LOL ... Somehow I get the impression
some of these people think DLV is larger than it actually is ...
>For privacy matters their photographer will always ask first if it is
>OK to take a pic. I know this to be true as I have had it happen to me
>a few times at various events.
This is a good thing. Reputable publications respect the wishes of the
public.
>Do you foresee any problems with this? Also if I ask them to run a
>small flyer about DLV? I can't confirm at this point but I think their
>publication is sent out to some of the major cities in the west as well.
If it's the _OUT_ magazine I'm thinking of, any B&N/Borders will have it.
Is this the publication, or is this a smaller local one with the same
name?
My feelings about publicity are mixed, as I've already said. I would
like to hear what all of you think.
I think that those who are concerned about exposure are at low risk with
things like this appearing only in GLBT media.
I have seen, however, a reporter being a MAJOR distraction at t* events.
