Thanks. I'm sure they rent the storefront from the Commercial Center
management people, but I'm sure they own the fixtures within, as well
as the liquor license and perhaps the intellectual property rights to
the name "Las Vegas Lounge".

Well, let's open this up for discussion in the group here. Personally,
I think a modest buffet would make more of a "special" thing for our
people, but ordering off the menu gives freedom of choice and of $$$.

Comments, gang?

Good points.

I do think we can come up with a close headcount a week or two before
the affair. And, iirc, I have seen people eating (burgers and such)
while sitting at the bar.

Personally, I have never had a bad meal there. However, I know the
kitchen part has gone thru several iterations of change since we first
wandered in there in 1998. I know the 2000 people complained of a very
limited menu and slow food service.

Great. Thanks again. :) It's been a while since I've eaten there, but
I remember it being very good.

I really think the Las Vegas market, both townie and transient, can
support at least two stores of that type. I was hoping to see LVFT and
GB become good clean competitors. Such competition can actually help
both firms, and definitely benefits the consumer (that's us, gang) and
keeps prices within reason. I really can't see either shop being a
threat to the other's health.

>That's it from me for now.....talk to you later!

Ok, thanks for the report, and the work on DLV, of course. Keep those
reports coming. :)

Oh yes. They have to in order to claim they have a bath house. :)

You mean the other TWO queens. I had to crop out the other one. {meow}

Uh, I'm not the one who was invited to spend the night at the place,
remember? :) I always get invited to classier places. :)

>Why? That's 7 months away! A bit severe, I say. You let the

I don't think this is DIRECTLY due to the attack, but more of a ripple
effect, or maybe just a business decision. My hunch is, and that's what
it is, a hunch, that they are killing it early in the game to avoid a
financial bath. If you do the math for a mainline t* convention, it
takes a certain number of bodies to break even. There's pressure to make
the conventions bigger and bigger, thus an increasing headcount is
needed to avoid a trip to the dunk tank.

That's my theory, anyway.

That's very good news. Thanks.

They have always had a dance floor on the south end of their bay. They
often keep it dark unless they are having something going on there.

>Wanted to have dinner at Carluccio's first but they were closed on

Ok, thanks for the reports. :)

Sunday side trip:

Sarah writes:

>I know there is some concern about the length of a trip to the Grand

With the pace of things at DLV, yes, it seems like the proposals for
day-long or mostly day-long trips are not very popular.

>What about the possibility of a trip up to the ski area north of L.V.?
>I've never been there myself and wonder it that would be a bit more
>reasonable.

I'm assuming you mean Mt. Charleston. {Entering broken-record/stuck-cd
mode} All it would take is somebody to propose it, which I think has
been done, and somebody to agree to organize and coordinate it. Sunday
morning/afternoon would be a good time, although it could be a second
track item almost any morning or afternoon.

>Can any of the local girls provide any intelligence on this

Anybody been there? What is the drive time? What is there to do and
see up there? Do I wanna pack a ski jacket for DLV? :)

/me sez: Just Do It! :)
