Good news is that activity is starting to pick up again as far as queries
and mailing list additions. Hopefully by the time DLV rolls around things
will be more back to normal. {knock on wood}

Be patriotic ... FLY! :)

Trip to Chicago:

I know this is short notice, but ... Since Fall Harvest was cancelled,
some of us who were looking forward to attend are gonna go ahead and
go to Chicago over the same (Nov 2-4) weekend. We're planning on doing
such things as shopping, touristy stuff, checking out the nightlife,
etc. (No speakers, no talent show, sound familiar?) <bfg>

The trip has been informally dubbed "Pinkfest" (from Pinkmyst). If
anybody is interested in attending, yes, we have a mailing list but it's
far less structured than the DLV list. Just send e-mail to:

Ok, thanks. I'm assuming somebody will take a disposable along ...

Limo tour:

I'm sure there will be enough interest. Thanks.

Ok, let's pencil that in on Thursday following the FI show.

Probably the first time a limo ever pulled into that place. :)

I'm sure Densie is still in contact with him. :)

Cancellations and such:

Monique writes:

>I'm a bit disturbed about the recent DLVORG emails and the questions
>about DLV'02 being cancelled.

To set the record straight, there was never any question about DLV 2002
ever being cancelled, and no rumors of such that I heard.

I put the notices on the web site and to the lists to stop any such
questions or rumors before they even started.

I felt like saying something to the effect that I was not gonna let
certain sub-human scum types, who murder and maim in the name of
religion (the ultimate blasphemy, imao), the pleasure of spoiling our
event, but I toned that down a bit. :)

>... but I would like to say this to you know, girl to girl. Two weeks
>after the terriorist attacks on country, there were rumors about that
>SCC'01 (Southern Comfort Conference) would be cancelled. It was not.

And I'm glad it was not. One of the scums' goals was to disrupt our
way of life. We have to show them we have no intention of letting them
do so.

Be patriotic ... attend a T* event! :)

>We expected an attendence of approx. 800 girls prior to 9/11. We had a

>that the rumors abound about DLV'02 being cancelled.

As I said, if there's any rumor of DLV being cancelled, it's news to me,
and just that, rumor. I plan to be there, you plan to be there, so it
will go on. If others care to join us, they will have a great time.

As for FH being cancelled, reason cited was low registration, but I
can see this being a ripple effect of the attack. The week of Sept.
10-15 was the last week to register for FH at the lower rate, and I
know many people {blush} were holding off until that time to register.

I'm sure FH registrations totally STOPPED on the 11th, as did queries
about DLV, which have finally resumed.

My gut feeling is that if FH had gone on as scheduled, it probably would
have had 60-80% of the previously anticipated crowd, and might have
taken a bath financially.

The cancellation was disappointing, but voices of "hey, let's get
together anyway" soon arose, and the upcoming trip to Chicago was
planned.

>I'm a seasoned traveller by air in this country and most of Europe and
>Australia; and I even admit that I'm apprehensive after the events of 3

>I'll be at DLV'02, beit 2 girls or 100+ girls.

I was scheduled to go to a (non-T*) conference in San Jose the weekend
after the attack. I was still ready to go that Thursday evening when the
conference was postponed. Yes, I was gonna fly. The flight I was booked
on took off a couple hours late, but arrived safely, alas, without me.

I'm a major chickensh*t when it comes to airplanes and a few other
things, but I figure the next months and years will be the safest times
to fly ever.

>OK, stepping off my soapbox for now. LOL. But in summary, we all live

>USA, and also as Sisters.

Yes, these are uncertain times. That's why I think it's important that
one thing is for certain, that DLV will go on as planned.

>Have fun in Chicago. I certainly enjoy going out in Chicago when I get
>there. Sure wish I could be with ya'll that weekend. Be sure to take
>lots of pics!

Oh yes, we will have fun, I know. Yes, I'll have That Damn Camera<tm>
with me. :)
